Enhance Your Breasts Naturally

Teardrop Breast Implants

How we see ourselves beyond our physical appearance also defines who we are and how we carry on with our everyday lives and interact with the people around us. The decision to undergo cosmetic surgery, like breast augmentation, is not only a medical decision but a personal one. Augmentation provides a great way to enhance the size, contour, and lift of a woman's breasts.

However, one must consider several factors before undergoing a breast enlargement procedure, such as the shape and texture of the implants, size and type, and the methods for incision. If you are considering having your breast enlarged in Brisbane, then a qualified and accredited cosmetic surgeon can help you through this process.

Round vs Teardrop
The two sizes utilised for enlargement is round and teardrop. Women who would like to add the most lift and proportion choose the round breast implants.

In most states in Australia - and in Brisbane - more women are choosing teardrop-shaped implants, also known as contoured breast implants, because they desire breast enlargement that looks as natural as
possible. To help women find the right shape of implant for their breast augmentation surgery, a Brisbane cosmetic surgeon practicing breast implants will provide the information on how they are used to augment breast shape and size.

Beast Implant Sizes
Breast implant sizes are available in a variety of sizes, from small (125 cc), to medium (400cc), to very large (1200 cc). In determining the size, taking a nude photo straight on shot and side profile is one step to determine how large the breast can be after surgery.

Depending on the objective, women who desire a perky, more youthful breast contour are better served by choosing a more conservative size. Women whose primary objective is breast enlargement will accomplish the best results with larger breast implants. By consulting a reputable cosmetic surgery clinic in Brisbane, women will have a better understanding of whether to choose small breast implants or large breast implants and how different sizes can fulfill their breast enhancement desires. As with any other cosmetic procedures, different breast implant textures have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation has become one of cosmetic surgery's most popular procedures. As techniques are refined and the cost of breast enlargement surgery becomes more affordable, especially with more available financing options, more and more women are choosing to enhance their breast size.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Round vs. Anatomical (teardrop) breast implants?
I'm getting some money from a settlement in court, so I wanted to get my breasts done. I'm a high B/ low C and I just want to get a fuller C, but my main concern is them looking natural rather than very large. I've heard that teardrop implants look the most natural, but I've also heard that most doctors prefer to use round ones. So, which ones DO look most natural?

    • ANSWER:
Definitely NOT round ones. They look very fake and aren't like real breasts at all.

  2. QUESTION:
    teardrop breast implants?
hi there , just wondering if any has had the teardrop implant? and does it really look more natural then the round ones? was there any problems ? also my consultant told me to bring in a good size DD sports bra so after swelling what size will i actually be? he didnt tell me coz nthe surgery more for sorting ou asymmetry thankyou

    • ANSWER:
Nobody but your surgeon can tell you what size you will be after the swelling, as it will entirely depend on how big the implant is and how broad your back is. The teardrop shaped implant is slightly more natural looking than the round implant but if it shifts position or rotates then it will be much more obvious. With a round implant you wouldn't usually know it had rotated.

  3. QUESTION:
    Teardrop VS round breast implants?
I'm going to get breast augmentation and lift for my 18th birthday (not because I'm vain, I have a genetic problem and I would have to get them lifted anyway with severe scarring so I might as well get implants with it to make them look good). I originally thought about getting round ones but I have no volume in my upper chest. I can feel my chest bone stick out and then my breasts start. So I was wondering if teardrop implants could give me volume to my upper chest. My breasts cannot be lifted/implanted in a "standard" way due to their position (otherwise I would just get the lift because I'm a C cup and call it a day but a lift will not actually position them correctly to wear they look any better, it will just take away excess skin). Also my breasts have a lot of stretchmarks. Do you have any personal expierences/advice? Please post them. Thanks. Please don't post anti-plastic surgery things because if you had my problem, I'm sure there's a 99% chance you'd do the same thing I am.

    • ANSWER:
Hello, I have implants myself. Of course your PS will really be the one you should ask as to what is best for you. However, I do know that most PS recommend round over teadrops. There have been a few problems with teardrop implants shifting and rotating. Teadrops can sometimes give a more natural look to the breast but round implants can give just as good results and often better in my opinion. As far as upper pole fullness, that will depend on the profile of the implant. Teardrops just give a natural slope to the breast and not fullnes up top. Mine are round high profile- which gives good projection and lots of upper pole fullness. Low profile = wider implant and less projection. Also, I think teardrops only come in cohesive gels and here in Canada at least- you must be of a certain age( I believe 21 or 22 ) before a PS will let you have cohesive gels. So that would rule out teardrops for you unless you are willing to wait or maybe the US (if that's where you are ) has different regulations. As for stretch marks, implants can make stretch marks less visible as long as the implants aren't huge and stretching the skin or they could make it worse. I've heard bio-oil is great for stretch marks as well as for scars. I never used it myself and my scars healed great by themselves but lots of girls on my implant forum use it and really love it. Anyway, it is confusing so it really is best to find a PS who is willing to take the time to answer all of your questions. By the way- I was very nervous about going under and the whole operation because i had never had an operation before- it was a breeze. painful for a few days but nothing unbearable and totally worth it. Your procedure will be more complicated because of the lift but I really hope that you will be happy with the results and happy with yourself. It is horrible to be young and at your prime but not happy with your body. Don't let people tell you that your vain for getting cosmetic surgery because what you said is true- if most were in your shoes they would probably do the same thing. If you feel it will make you happy then go for it- it is your body and only you have to live with it so do it for you and not anyone else. Best of luck.

  4. QUESTION:
are teardrop breast implants best or round ones?
i had implants done round silacone ones 220cc 7 yrs ago i am a full b cup went from a a cup after looseing all my boobs from pregancys, i have had 2 kids since op and feel i have lost alot of boob so want to get them bigger, my sugeon mr mc george who is a excellent surgeon said he wants to put teardrop shape in me as i have lost shape at the top useing 425cc silacone textered has anyone ever had this size sahpe etc and had any problems with turning of the implant i trust what he says but very nervous as never heard of teardrop shape lately please help any info welcome

    • ANSWER:
Do what the doc says. Teardrop will be very appealling.

Before and after photographs would be appreciated!

  5. QUESTION:
Breast implants- help with shape (teardrop or round?) and size?
I am currently (without any implants) a pretty small 34B. Almost 34A/B.

I want to be a c-cup, but not on the large size of c-cup. A medium c cup.

How many millilitres in the implant should I opt for?

Also, I want my breasts to slope and curve naturally (like a half-pear)- not to have that rounded top, or torpedo look. Will teardrop shape implants be best if this is the look I want, or does the shape of the impnat not really affect the shape of the breast at the end of the day?
(I also don't want droopy breasts, and am worried teardrop shaped implants may droop more?)

Finally, to avoid that rounded top look, and to get the most natural look, is it best to have the implant over or under the muscle?

    • ANSWER:
Over the muscle. More comfortable and easier recovery. Best advice: Work with your doctor for the shape and size, he/she has done many of these and will know from experience what looks better for your body. Rather than shape, worry about the softness and bounciness. The doctor will have a variety of implants, from firm and hard porn star types to soft and natural. Smaller sizes are supposed to be softer and more natural looking. I have a pair of rounds that are very soft and bouncy and over the muscle. I like them and no one knows they aren't real. It's always funny when someone claims to be able to tell real from fake when the only fake one they see are ones on porn stars.

  8. QUESTION:
can you breast feed with implants?
i wanna get breast implants. the teardrop gel silicone kind. but i want to breast feed when i have children. is it possible to breast feed with implants?

    • ANSWER:
Yes. According to the Institute of Medicine (IOM), any kind of breast surgery, including breast implant surgery, makes it at least three times more likely that a woman trying to breastfeed will have an inadequate milk supply (lactation insufficiency). The IOM based that conclusion on a number of studies of women with breast implants or other breast surgery. A description of those studies follows.

  9. QUESTION:
    about breast implants removal?
i used to have a nice 34 B but after 3 kids down to an A and not saggy but starting and sort of flat.
    I choosed implants.
i got 350 cc through the nipple.

my questions: i have no feeling on my right nipple and the other one is fine.
After i remove the implants, will it be worse or the same?

And should i just get a lift or smaller implants in teardrop shape?

The rason why i want to get rid of them (after now 3 years) they are too big.I got a C/D and im just 5'2.

everything is fine, they very soft and look good frontal. But if u in a dress or shirt ahhhhhh too round and big ;-(

    • ANSWER:
I don't know what has been damaged in your right breast, or if it is permanent, but you should definitely have them removed when you've found that you don't really like them. And I think you should not think of new operations of any kind. Just leave them as they are after removal, that is the nicest for you, emotionally, and the most beautiful too.

  10. QUESTION:
breast implants boob job breast augmentation help?
i have round silacone implants 220cc went from a A cup after looseing them from having my babys to a full b which i originally was before my kids, i now want to go bigger my surgeon said to go from round to teardrop to fill the upper part of my breast and use a 425 cc silacone jelly implant (i have the same ones now but round) has anyone had the teardrop and suffered with rotateing or not liked the shape etc please help any info advise would be appreciated, i must also add i am 5ft5 slim 8-10 docter says teardrop would be best as i am only small framed and they will fill me out at the top and also look more natural rather than the stuck on ball look thanks for reading

    • ANSWER:
Saline implants are safer and will always give you a more natural look and feel than silicone but 425 cc implants will not be attractive on a slim woman of medium height like you are.

You can find a surgeon that will do anything you ask that isn't life-threatening, but the trend is away from oversized boobs. Relative to your height and weight, what you have right now is perfect so save your money and skip the pain of recovering from a major surgical procedure.

  11. QUESTION:
    breast implants....opinion???
ok so in 2 weeks im getting breast augmentation from a 36 b to .....i dont know yet but im undecided about size and shape.....so I dont know if to go for the teardrop shape or the round shape,I might go for a d cup.so i need some opinions and or you can share any similar stories...thanks:) oh and guys what do you think about women with implants????

    • ANSWER:
I have breast implants and I love them! They are worth every penny. If in doubt about size, go big. I know this sounds scary, but the number one reason that women are unsatisfied with their implants is because they feel they did not get big enough ones. The teardrop shaped implants are for girls with more narrow chests. If you are very petite or small boned, then you might want to go for those. I have round ones, but I have a larger chest. It is very exciting to get new boobies, but be ready for some pretty intense pain post-op. I couldn't even sit up on my own, and could hardly walk the first few days. The pain meds they give you can cause constipation, and you pretty much feel awful. It will take several months for your implants to settle and look natural. Oh and getting the stitches out sucks. I screamed. I really don't think guys give a crap whether they're fake or not. All they see is boobies! My boyfriend still won't leave mine alone and I've had them for almost a year! The scars on my nipples are practically invisible and I am very impressed with the doctors work. Yay for breast implants!

  12. QUESTION:
Ladies only!! Question about breast implants?
Do you regret getting implants? How big did you go? Are you pleased with them overall? I want all the details!! How much did you pay? Roumd or teardrop? Saline or silicone? Under the muscle or on top? Where did they make the incision?

    • ANSWER:
I love my implants. The first pair were silicone, and I had them replaced and changed to saline. I am now a 34B(I was VERY flat chested before my surgery). My implants are teardrop and under the muscle. I do not have any numb areas, and was able to breastfeed both my children. My incision is underneath my breast, and the scar can't be seen unless you are looking for it. I don't remember the cost, it was over 12 years ago. One interesting thing, when you have a mammogram, they have to do double films, one with the breast tissue and implant, and one with breast tissue alone. I LOVE THEM!

  13. QUESTION:
for women who have breast implants........a few questions?
    1. silicone or saline?
    2. under arm or under nipple incision?
    3. round or teardrop shape?
I'm 25 and have had 3 kids. I was a size b but since having my kids I have lost all the fullness. So I wanted to hear from women who have had the procedure done. :0

    • ANSWER:
      1. Silicone. it is much more realistic feeling and looking. The gummy bear implants being used now are less prone to rupture than saline and are just as safe.

      2. Stay away from any procedure that cuts next to the nipple or around the nipple there is a much larger risk of sensetivity loss. My wife had her breast done and had the incission in the crease under the breast. It is not visible at all. Second thing is to make sure you have the implants placed under the muscle. it makes for a more natural look and helps prevent future sagging.

      3. The shape of the implant depends on your body type. a good doctor should be able to help you determine what size shape and profile best fit your body type

  14. QUESTION:

  15. QUESTION:
    knowledge in plastic surgery?
I am thinking to have a boob job as my birthday present (I'm 46, size 10 UK, 32 A). went to see plastic surgeon today, and asked for tea-drop size B, implants placed under the muscle. The surgeon recommended different. He said: "These would not be my recommendation though as I think the teardrop implant will produce an excessively bottom-heavy breast and fail to adequately fill the upper pole defect caused by the previous surgery on your right breast. Teardrop implants also have the small possibility of rotating and flipping back to front or upside down.

Also going behind the muscle will tend to fix the implant rather firmly in place and rather high. This means that your breast will not be as mobile as if the implant were in front, also the breast would tend to move with pectoral muscle contraction." Also he advised to go for size C cup.

I know that he's a good plastic surgeon, and probably he right, but I have a friend with round implants - look horrible, and as she get older, her skin got looser and you actually see these two balls on her chest.
I am not looking to impress, I want to do it for myself, and have nice looking (like real) brests...

Maybe someone with experience or knowledge in this area give me advice?

    Thanks a lot.

    • ANSWER:
The guy I work with does submuscular, round implants in almost everybody, and they look great.

I'd also suggest going for the C cup. He gets a lot of patients who wish they'd gone bigger.

You may want to ask for a second opinion from another surgeon.

  16. QUESTION:
I need a reference for a plastic surgeon in Dallas, TX?

  17. QUESTION:
    Gel implants?
Has any woman had the teardrop-shaped gel implant or saline implants placed? What can you tell me about the procedure and the shape of your breasts. I am going to undergo the procedure next month and am desperate not to get the big, round boob job that I see as after pictures from most of the implant sites online.
I'm doing this, not for bigger breasts really, but because of asymmetry and some sagging after childbirth.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Dovie!
My, "significant other" got semi-contoured, inflatable, partially sub
muscular saline implants and she is VERY pleased with them!
It sounds like you have researched and gotten consultation from
your surgeon already- picking the right type and shape so you don't
get the, "angry, gravity-defying boobs" that look fake. lol! Let ME be
the one to assure you from a male point of view: They will look
AND feel very natural- both men and women will NOT be able to tell
you've had surgery unless YOU tell them... Don't be worried by the, "anti-surgery" crowd here if this is what you want. Just make
sure that the surgeon is really experienced doing that type and
you are NOT going to some discount doctor- best wishes for a new year and new you!!! ;-)
