Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong

Plastic surgery information are sometimes contradicting and inaccurate. Some people would claim that plastic surgery is safe while some have stories to tell regarding real plastic surgery gone wrong. Is the idea of plastic surgery gone wrong really fact or fiction?

Plastic Surgery

Some life instances would require people to go into reconstructive surgery in order to save their lives and to restore damaged bodily functions. Even such a critical procedure however requires patient consent. Since cosmetic surgery is not a matter of life and death, it is generally more elective than reconstructive surgery and has been the subject of a lot of plastic surgery gone wrong sites. Perhaps more and more people are wondering why others volunteer to put their bodies in danger.

Of course practitioners and experts will tell you that the modern methods of plastic surgery has made plastic surgery gone wrong episodes nearly obsolete. Numerous capable practitioners really do great jobs that generally satisfy patients. It is still a fact however that plastic surgery gone wrong pictures still circulate online. It is also a fact that there are actually law firms that specialize in bad plastic surgery. What does this tell you? If some lawyers see this as a lucrative area to set their sights on then plastic surgery gone wrong is still very much a reality. The figures say too that one in four people have had some bad surgical reaction or experience.

What Can Go Wrong

Let's give plastic surgery supporters the benefit of the doubt. Granting that plastic surgery gone wrong episodes are rare and isolated, you would still be most unfortunate if you became the rare recipient of incorrect procedures.

Errors in plastic surgery procedures can cause serious damage. In minor cases you may just have to bear prolonged bruising or swelling. More serious problems however can also happen which may just include some of the following:

- Leakage or hardening of implants - Reactions to medicine or anesthesia - Slippage of implants - Drooping, disproportionate or asymmetrical breasts - Extensive scarring and possibly disfigurement - Too much skin removed - Death - Nerve, tissue, muscle or organ damage

What Happens After

Consequently, it would lead to more medical bills and more absences from work. You might also have to run after the doctor responsible for your plastic surgery gone wrong episode and the legal battle could be inconvenient, costly and long. The worst thing that could happen is that you might end up looking worse than before the surgery and your new look could be permanent. Although the physical pain may eventually diminish, the emotional pain can drag on for a long time.

What You Can Do

Natural methods should be tried first before resorting to invasive methods such as plastic surgery. Try the natural way of trying to get a better appearance and resort only to surgery if all else fails.

You should also always look for a doctor who is not only an expert but is board certified as well. A certification is the best way to ensure that your doctor has had the necessary number of years of training in plastic surgery and has passed the required exams.

im showing plastic surgery gone wrong...and i want music that is really shocking and scary any ideas?
i know there are some that are played by orchestras but i dont know what they're called

    • ANSWER:
I'm certainly no expert on classical music, but I know of a few popular pieces that may work. You can try "Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta, Sz. 106: III. Adagio" by Bartok. "Dies Irae" from Mozart's Requiem could work. I think "A Night on Bald Mountain" by Mussorgsky is pretty scary. The links for these that I've posted below will require iTunes.

I've also provided a link that has more scary classical music you can look up.

Also, it's not classical music, but I find the "Requiem For a Dream" soundtrack pretty scary. In particular, check out "Lux Aeterna", "Marion Barfs" and "Southern Hospitality".

Some of these suggestions may be too dramatic, but I hope I helped in some way.

  16. QUESTION:
Plastic Surgery gone WRONG - Any chance of free repair?
In September of 2008, I underwent a Rhinoplasty (nose job) at a well known clinic in Wellesley, MA. I paid a pretty hefty price (Over ,000) to have the bone shaved down on the bridge, removing a pretty large bump. My nose on both sides near the cheeks so the nose could be pushed together in the middle, making the bridge appear the correct "new" size. To much the smaller bridge, the doctor was supposed to removed cartilage at the TIP of my nose and reshape it as it had been round and slightly bulbous even prior to the surgery.

Fast forward nearly 2 years now, I have been left with a very bulbous tip. Not only did he seem to fail to reshape the "roundness" in the tip of the nose, there are these 2 small "horns" protruding from the tip. This gives the appearance of the nip of my nose rising up like a ramp. These bumps are very hard and while fairly small, ruin the entire appearance of my nose. They seem to be a good amount of scar tissue lumped together at the tip of my nose.

Do I really have any way here to "complain" and hope this doctor will consider fixing it for free or at reduced cost? He is well known and I am not willing to say he is a quack, but I essentially paid for my nose to look 5x worse than it did prior to the surgery. I was very diligent in taking care of it, and now I am left with these rocks at the tip of my nose... when it was supposed to be shaped correctly, not mutilated. Do I have any grounds for ANYTHING here?
Few spelling mistakes, I was in a rush. I meant to say the bone was broken on both sides of my cheeks so the nose could be met together at it's new size.

    • ANSWER:
Yes. I have heard many cases where plastic surgery has gone wrong. Go into the clinic where you received the treatment and complain about the results. See what you can do. It might be worth a lawsuit and sue them to get money for your suffering, but it might be too much money to pay for a lawyer when you could just pay to have it fixed.

  17. QUESTION:

  18. QUESTION:
Which star (actor or actress) is a prime example of plastic surgery gone wrong? Joan Rivers, Kenny Rogers,?

  19. QUESTION:
Has anybody seen a recent photo of the country singer, Kenny Rogers? Is that plastic surgery gone wrong???

Yeah ...it seems almost everyone agrees. When I first saw the Tour Poster I thought to myself the printer had made a mistake with the photograph, but alas this is the new face of Kenny Rogers. His eyes look dead now. Such a pity as he was one man who was aging gracefully.

    • ANSWER:
It makes him look like a freak. I want the old Kenny Rogers back! I think his plastic surgeon got too excited to be working on such a wonderful artist & pulled the skin too tight & up too far. He had liposuction done in the 80s & said he regretted it since it redeposited itself in odd places. Since he now regrets this plastic surgery, why didn't he just invest in Botox or borrow his wife's Oil of Olay?! Let alone have learned a lesson the first time!

  20. QUESTION:
Is plastic surgery wrong according to Christian standards?
I have thought about getting a breast reduction, but feel guilty for wanting to change my body that God gave me. By anyone's standards my breasts are very large and very heavy. So, it it really isn't about me being vain or having irrational ideas about my body. Should I go through with it and what do you think God would say about it.
To be honest, I have no physical pain associated with my breast. They just prevent me from wearing a lot of the latest fashion, make me self conscious (men and women often stare), and they look unattractive to me. When I die, believe me, I am going to ask what was the purpose of giving me such a large chest.

    • ANSWER:
Well, personally I don't consider a breast reduction to be plastic surgery. Go for it, don't live your life in pain, it ain't worth it.

  24. QUESTION:
Do you think Toe Shortening is the biggest/dumbest waste of $ in plastic surgery?
Cause i do...What do u think is the biggest waste of $ in plastic surgery? All surgery? I'm halfway watching a plastic surgery-gone-wrong show and i can't believe ppl seriously pay for toe shortening!

    • ANSWER:
      Wow.

I never knew there was such thing as one!

      But that is kind of...stupid.

You should be proud of your toes!

The only reason why you should plastic surgey is if you NEED to.

But for some people, it's a life changing experience.

In my personal opinion, I would never go get plastic surgey.

I am happy for who I am. Sometimes people who get plastic surgery do it just to feel better about themselves.

As long as its a good reason. Then do it.

The whole toe shortening thing is awkward though.

  25. QUESTION:
Some Christians...(fundamentalists) say that plastic surgery is wrong but......?
according to your religion it's wrong because it goes against god's original design and its a sin. You think that by making your appearance look better its telling god 'i think your depiction/creation of me was wrong so i changed myself' this is considered a sin according to the christian faith but what if a burn victim got plastic surgery to make their wounds less noticeable...are they going to hell?

    does plastic surgery go wrong..?
im 15 year old girl, and i absolutely just hate my nose. it basically ruins my whole face. i have reeeeeeeeeaally nice eyes, and my nose just ruins everything. im considering having plastic surgery done for a better nose in the future. how old do i have to be, how much will it cost (with anesthesia) and everything i need to know about it. and most importantly - does it every go wrong? what if it becomes bad , i would have ruined my face for sure for rest of my life. how do i know which kind of nose to get replaced..what happens if it goes wrong? Please help! :)

    • ANSWER:
In all fairness, I can't answer you question because I just don't know. But sometimes, I do see a person who has a beautiful face and a horrible nose, and I don't think that it is vain to have work on it to make it straight and normal. However I do think it is wrong when people with straight or noses which are normal have surgery to make them all tiny and sticky uppy. But go for it! x

This is a nice nose In my opinion :)

  27. QUESTION:
Okay I just found out that plastic surgery is wrong according to Christians if it is only used for cosmetics..?
because that is saying 'I don't like my god-given face i will change it' so reconstructive surgery isn't wrong only cosmetic surgery is, but listen I don't like how god made my hair really thick so i usually wear a beanie or a hat to thin it out a bit and i do this constantly so I'm a sinner for going against my god-given attributes, I am supposed to just leave my hair thick like god intended it to be but i see christian women wearing lipstick all the time when god did not originally make their lips that red. So that could be a sin too by going against god's original intent-right? Can a christian explain this to me....where's the line-when is it okay to change you're body?

    • ANSWER:
I've never heard a believer say that plastic surgery was wrong. In fact, I've had some eyelid work and feel it's a personal choice for one's appearance.

I think you just dislike believers in general because you aren't one of them.

  33. QUESTION:
what can go wrong in plastic surgery?
i need to know bad stuff that could go wrong during plastic surgery

    • ANSWER:
Plastic surgery involves several surgical risks like pain, infections, allergic reactions, nausea and vomiting, which are commonly associated with any kind of surgery. In addition to these, drug reaction, implant rejection, pigmentation, blood clots, skin necrosis and nerve damage on the particular area are some of common bad effects of plastic surgery that may give rise to many complications. The process may produce additional risks for smokers, as they are more likely to face problems like delay in healing wounds, increased risk of infection, bruising, scarring and pulmonary problems.

It has been observed that many individuals undergoing plastic surgery tend to suffer from an obsession or an infatuation with their look. This can cause an addiction and may impel them to undergo plastic surgery several times. A common psychological disorder in this regard is known as 'body dysmorphic disorder', where people develop such a distorted and weird perception of their body that they can't be satisfied with any look.

But sometimes plastic surgery becomes inevitable, especially for reconstructing damaged parts of the body caused by burns, accidents or any inborn abnormality. Before opting for plastic surgery, it is very essential to discuss every aspect of the method and also the cost involved, with your plastic surgeon. It is also advisable to research properly before selecting a qualified and certified surgeon and follow the instructions of your surgeon to avoid any surgical and post-surgical complication.

What is wrong with plastic surgery?
Why do these celebrities deny it when they get plastic surgery? We do have eyes and can see the transformation. One example or at least the most recent example is an interview with Kim Kardashian and her family. When asked about her breasts, she maintained she never had her breasts done. Who is she trying to kid? Her is a picture I came across that clearly shows a definite before and after.

I really do not care if someone gets plastic surgery. It isn't my place to decide whether or not they need it. But at least be honest about it. Especially something so drastic as going up several cup sizes.

    What say you?
@tehabwa- My point is, how in the hell can you deny such a dramatic change? Why deny it? Own up to it.

    • ANSWER:
I personally find it sad when somebody has plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons and nothing more. Nothing screams lack of confidence more than that, and that's the most unattractive thing to me. I think they don't admit to it because they're embarrassed that it's fake but like... everyone knows. It's just silly, really.

  39. QUESTION:
Whats wrong with Plastic Surgery/Cosmetic Surgery, I was thinking about getting a procedure done?
I think its fine to get it if you want to make your self look/feel prettier or better in some way. But why do the girls on Rock of Love 3 have to look soooo scary!?? I have a mole on my wrist that is rather large. But Do I have to go to a cosmetic surgeon to get it removed? Why can't the dermatologist do it? The last time I saw a dermatologist I was 15, and he sort of ignored me and even asked my mom if I shave my legs.. Dude.. Im 15 and there is no hair on them DUH.. And he left 1/2 way through and got a nurse to come in and finish my appointment.. Anyway Is it something a dermatologist can do? its about 1/2 an inch in diamiter and not really raised up. So what can I do about this, and if I have to go to a plastic surgeon how much would that cost?
I dont care about scars.. I am a piercing/tattoo kind of girl. So whats a little scar.

    • ANSWER:
Yep, your dermatologist can do it in office, I have had one taken off and it only took a few minutes and a few stitches, but I do have a scar now, so think about whether you would like to replace the mole with a scar.

I would, however, find a different dermatologist, There is no reason for him to treat you like that, as a patient you are also a paying customer and you should not waste your money and time on a doctor who ignores your concerns.

Gisele Bundchen, and Adriana Lima makes millions, ESP With VS because they got them selves a boob job. How far would they have went with A-B cup? Can you see why so many want to do it too?

Don't you think we should be a little easier on women who want to alter their bodies?

    • ANSWER:
I think it's the pressure that women... or folks in general, feel that they absolutely must be beautiful on the outside, either to please others or to fit some stereotypical "mold" perpetuated by the Hollywood and media.

Someone that's insecure and so transparent that their own self-worth is determined merely by how others see their physical appearance lacks a stable, confident, "core." A nip here, tuck there and inflatable gazongas up front won't fortify that core-self image... but rather, will only serve to further hide it beneath augmentations and implants.

I just want any surgical candiate to get right on the inside, before they get cut on in an effort to manipulate their outsides [climbing down off of her soapbox... adjusting her push-up bra, but ready to fuss at any sexist fella that may be gawking at her clevage]. LOL!

Does anyone think that plastic surgery can cause low self-esteem?
Apart from the obvious example of cosmetic surgery going wrong, do you think cosmetic surgery can cause low self-esteem in people who have it? Do you think the fact people can have cosmetic surgery can cause low self-esteem in those who don't even undergo it?

Any other reasons you do or don't think it does?
But, Pro-Vampire, is plastic surgery the cause of that? Or is feeling like you need it just an indicator of low self-esteem?

    • ANSWER:
I think it can cause low self-esteem in some cases. Someone with plastic surgery could end up liking their results, thinking that it makes them more confident in themselves. But then they go crazy with it sometimes, doing many surgeries to fix things that really don't need to be fixed.

Michael Jackson and several other stars, especially women, who have been under the knife many times over and still aren't satisfied with the way they look.

Then they become disfigured from trying to change their looks so many times, and they're haunted for the rest of their lives for doing that to themselves. Surgery helps sometimes. Too much surgery is not a good thing.

  43. QUESTION:
What are the chances of having a failed plastic surgery?
Hi, I'm thinking of getting plastic surgery on my face, particulary my eyes and nose. I am wondering what are the chances of a plastic surgery going wrong. I've seen many celebrities who had surgery and it went wrong and now they look even worse than before (Micheal Jackson R.I.P). I know that the chances depend on where u are getting it and who u go to. So can anyone tell me the chances of failed plastic surgery and recommend a cosmetologist's hospital where there are experienced doctors and surgeons who know what they're doing. Like, im not going to an Asian cosmetologist for help

    • ANSWER:
When you are considering facial plastic surgery, you need to see a doctor who only does faces. This type of doctor is called a cosmetic facial plastic surgeon. It is important to know how many surgeries he has performed, what qualifications he has, and most importantly, multiple before and after photos of his work.

I work for a "faces only" doctor. I recommend that you visit www.facialplastics.com to see Dr. Parfitt's work. He is also featured in the New Beauty Magazine.

  44. QUESTION:
what will happen if you take plastic surgery?
well ijust wanted to know because i saw if something goes wrong during plastic surgery you can DIE OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    • ANSWER:
The risk of dying is quite small, actually.

Everything we do in life carries some risk. Driving in a car is risky, but we do that every day. We must always weight the risks against the benefits.

For many people, the benefits of surgery outweigh the risks.

  45. QUESTION:
What's so wrong about getting plastic surgery?
So what? It's OUR money and body, so we could do WHAT EVER we want with it! Who are you to judge? Just mind your own business and stop trying to go into other peoples' lives. Because if you have a problem with it then you can just go screw yourself.

By the way, ignore what the media says. Just because the media show bad results of plastic surgery doesn't mean it's bad. Plastic surgery is NOT always bad for you. Just try to find a professional, certified plastic surgeon and go over everything step by step and EVERYTHING will go just fine.

Today people are ALWAYS judging you based on how you look, and if you're ugIy you're gonna get treated unfairly. According to recent studies, it's been shown that good looking people get treated better than people who are ugIy or below average looking, so I think it's fair for people to get plastic surgery if they're THAT unattractive.

I mean, I agree that it's pretty bad to get SEVERAL surgeries all at once in a single day like Heidi Montag, but just as long as you do one surgery just to fix a flaw about yourself then I think it's totally fine. As long as it looks natural and you have enough money to afford the surgery then I mean why not, right?

So what if it's fake? I mean, if you're THAT unfathomable to look at then I think it's fine to fix yourself a bit through plastic surgery. It doesn't matter what other people say, because those are just opinions anyways.

What truly matters is how YOU feel about it, and if you think you should get plastic surgery then go ahead and get it. We live only once, so why not live your life to its fullest and do everything you can to make you happy?

Try and TAKE advantage, go out for a jog outside, exercise to be healthier, climb on top of the highest mountain and scream your lungs out, go skydiving to face your fears, travel around the world to experience things you've never got to experience, heckkkk even go and get plastic surgery if you feel you need to!!!!!!

So yeah man, that's just my take on it. I don't care if you don't agree with me though. But at least try and see MY point of view.

    • ANSWER:
Yeah, I get you're saying here. I seen a guy that likes to judge ugly chicks and look who is talking he used to be fat as a watermelon and over the summer he loss all the weight. People can do whatever they want with their body.

  46. QUESTION:
    Excess plastic surgery facts/thoughts?
I'm writing a paper about how doctors should have some kind of law (besides the hypocratic oath) that they should abide by with as far as plastic surgery. They should turn away patients if they are overdoing plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons. I was also playing around with the idea that some of the patients should be referred to a psychiatrist if their problems are serious. Do you have any opinions on this? Any links to factual data?

PS. I think limited and reasonable plastic surgery is fine, and ultimately it is up to the patient to make their own decision but the doctors should have the wisdom to turn patients away or have them go to a psychiatrist. Also, I think there is nothing wrong with plastic surgery, it is a great tool for burned victims and other things like that.

      http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gen/133193/HEIDI-MONTAG-PLASTIC-SURGERY-PHOTOS.jpg
look how beautiful she looks before her surgery.. she didnt need any of it. she actually almost died because she had 10 surgeries in one day.

i agree with you, in theory it would be reasonable to send patients to psychiatrists. but if this was to ever happen, it would probably be against the doctor's will. they make profit off patients, so they give the patients what they want and get paid for it. especially in this recession, no way any cosmetic surgeon would turn down a patient. even if they were addicted. sad but true :/

  47. QUESTION:

I have been eating strawberries sporadically my entire life but in the last 2 weeks have eaten 2 or 3 every day in a smoothie. Is it the berries or the pill? Also how long will it remain swollen?

    • ANSWER:
There is no way to know for sure which it is. The only way to find out if it is one of those is to eliminate both for several days, thed add just one back and see what happens. Allergies can get worse over time each time you are exposed to the allergen.
