Many people today have become extremely conscious about their appearance and presentation. Women, in particular, take particular pride in their appearance and will go to great expense to appear as attractive as possible. Women of all ages, and men too, are turning to cosmetic surgery to improve their looks and build their self confidence.
Liposuction is becoming a common and popular form of cosmetic surgery as a quick way of removing excess fat from the body and improving appearance in an easy and cost-effective manner. It is becoming a popular option for anyone who wants quick results!
Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure whereby fat deposits are surgically removed from a specific area of the body. It includes, but is not limited to, abdomen, arms, knees, thighs, breasts, buttocks and other areas where excess fat accumulates. Surgeons recommend that people within their normal weight range will achieve the best result from the procedure.
Liposuction is considered a relatively simple and safe procedure with a short recovery. However, some people – particularly women – are disappointed with the results. A major reason for this is having high expectations that cannot be met by the surgery and a lack of understanding of the facts about liposuction before and after the procedure.
A few things should be understood about liposuction before and after surgery when you make your decision to go ahead. Only with a full understanding of all the facts can you really decide whether this type of surgery is suitable for you. Hence, before you make your decision you should discuss your expectations and concerns with at least two specialized surgeons and seek their expert opinion.
Many times women want to have as much fat as possible removed from an area of their body in one operation. Sometimes this is possible, but frequently this would invite serious side-effects including the risk of shock and can also deliver an undesirable result. Other complications are the possibility of clot formation in the area where a canula has been inserted for too long a period, or a lumpy appearance in the region where fat has been removed.
The outcome for the liposuction procedure can be greatly affected post-operative draining. After the fat is removed, the usual procedure is to leave the incisions open to allow draining of excess fluid and blood, and to control edema.
Absorbent pads are placed over the affected area which capture the drained fluid. The pads are held in place with a compression liposuction garment. For surgery on the face and neck the liposuction garment is generally worn for about 18 to 36 hours. For other areas of the body the compression garment is worn until the draining has finished.
In addition to liposuction compression garments and absorbent pads, there are several other ways to drain the fluid rapidly including leaving the incision open so the fluid can drain out naturally.
Rapid drainage is encouraged because it will assist in a faster post-operative healing process, reduce pain considerably, and also reduce the formation of bruising. A comprehensive understanding of liposuction before and after surgery will help to produce a satisfactory outcome.

QUESTION:
Liposuction before or after weight loss?
Okay, I'm 21 years old, just under 5' 5", 137 pounds. My goal is to get down to around 120 pounds. I've already lost 20 pounds, slowly and healthily through diet and exercise changes. So I still have about 17 pounds to lose.My parents have agreed to give me liposuction for my birthday, and I'm planning to get it done on my inner knees/thighs and outer thighs (well, I haven't got saddlebag so more just under my butt, enough to make it a prettier shape!)
My question is - do I get lipo done soon, with say 13 or 14 pounds still to lose, or do I get it done once I've lost all that I can lose naturally (having bigger thighs and fat knees is totally a genetic thing for me). To me it seems like with getting it done before, the fat that I will be concentrating on losing will be coming off more specific places (ie. arms and stomach), but with doing it after I will know exactly what areas have the "stubborn" fat.
So should I get it sooner, or later?
-
ANSWER:
You'll get better results after you lose weight as the surgeon can then go in and scuplt

QUESTION:
After Liposuction Problem?
Okay, so i'm 17 & i just recently got lipo in march. It's been 2 months closer to the healing process (6 months, final results) (please don't dwell on the fact that i'm only 17) I wasn't big big, but I had a roll to be quite honest. I had that roll removed and they did removing to my upper stomach fat as well. Anyways, now I have some loose skin around where they removed the roll. It looks wrinkly & i'm afraid at the end of 6 months it will look the same and not tighten up. If any of you know or think that it will go away, could you please give me your advice/opinion? Thanks. I also attached some pictures of my before and after.

Pictures 1-6 are After Lipo.
6-11 Are before.-
ANSWER:
Well to be honest, I didn't see anything wrong with you before. I couldn't really get a look at the pictures as how you are seeing yourself since they are 'glamor' shots instead of a shot where your trying to show what it looks like. My suggestion would be that after the healing 'stage' if you are still dissatisfied go to your doctor and ask if there is some sort of physical activity that you can do it get rid of it or if it will just tighten up over time.

QUESTION:
I am thinking about getting liposuction on my stomach. Is it worth to do this before getting pregnant?
I have not had children yet, but I plan to have at least 2 kids a few years down the road. Based on experience is it better to wait to get Liposuction after the kids? Or does it work so that fat will not return to your stomach after you have lipo and after having kids? Anyone know for sure?-
ANSWER:
You should definitely wait until after you're done having children to have lipo. You will probably need it even more then. Lipo does not keep fat from coming back! If that was the case, it would be a miracle cure. Plus you have no idea how your body will react to pregnancy. You could be one of the lucky ones whose body bounces right back, or your stomach could end up stretched out. Then you could get that tummy tuck & lipo.

QUESTION:
my thighs are too swollen after liposuction that I can't stand my girdle what can I do?
Its been 10 days post but its still hard to even put it on after surgey I notice I look fatter that before and when I wear the girdle I can't stand it for long cause it deepens into my skin. I don't wear it that much cause I am waiting to loose some of the swelling and some of the brusing.-
ANSWER:
this is why ppl get rejected from surgery's, ppl dont listen to after care inst.
put that on n leave it on!!!! u will look worse if u dont wear it!!!! ur gonna make a couple weeks of discomfort into a lifelong lump n dissatisfaction. it will be for nothing if u dont wear it. its supposed to dig into u. it wont help to get rid of side effect (brusings etc) by not wearing it.

QUESTION:
four days after liposuction and it looks horrible?
I had tumescent liposuction on the "saddlebags" of my outer thighs. The day after surgery, I noticed the results! The saddlebags were gone, although the area was bruised and lumpy looking. Now, after four days, my thighs look almost as big as they were before. If I hadn't seen the 850 cc's of fat with my own eyes, I would swear nothing had been removed. What is going on? Is it just swollen? Is it going to shrink again? Is there anything I should be doing to encourage the swelling to go down? Arrggghh!
wow, thanks you guys for being encouraging and nice!! so many ppl are mean when they answer questions, maybe the anonymity makes them feel powerful. thanks, everyone.
-
ANSWER:
The swelling is very normal and your doctor should have told you upfront about it. Some doctors recommend ice packs and others don't.I suggest that you call your doctors office and see what they recommend. You should have also received paperwork from the hospital giving you instructions for the first 2 weeks of home care and special instructions for the first 48 hours so that you know what to expect. Look through any paper work that they may have given you when you left the hospital.

QUESTION:
How come after liposuction you have to wear a garment?
I had liposuction of the love handles and lower abdomen done 11 days ago and am just wondering why i wear this garment i know they went over it but i cant remember!! And how long before i can have sex?-
ANSWER:
A compression garment is very common after liposuction surgery. Right after your liposuction procedure, your skin is slightly too loose, due the fat which has just been extracted underneath the skin level. Your skin needs to tighten and heal to the underlying soft tissue. A compression garment puts pressure on the skin and soft tissue so that it can heal together and form less scar tissue and a better contour underneath.

QUESTION:
How do I lose my fat neck?
Hello
Okay, I am 16 years old. I am 150 pounds and 5'7, so I know i'm around 20 pounds overweight. I have a lot of dental work that needs to be done in the next 4 years, (extractions, braces, crossbite surgery, etc...)
My neck looks like this.
http://www.feplasticsurgery.com/img/before-after/liposuction-1/full/pre-op-1.jpg
I feel really self concious about it and get teased, people call me "gobble gobble", because it looks like a turkey neck.
I'm wondering if I lose the extra pounds, will i lose my 'gobble' too? I felt it and it is fat and jiggly, but I am confused because I have seen people way fatter than me but they don't have a gobble? Is it just because different people gain weight in different places? Or is it because my crossbite?
K, the question wasn't "how do i lose weight?"
I was wondering, Do I have a fat neck because I am overweight, or is it because of my teeth problems.-
ANSWER:
Eat healthy and exercise & you will begin to lose all over!

QUESTION:
About Liposuction after giving birth?
I'm 20 years old and have a 19 month old son, straight after havin him i weighed less than i did before i was pregnant i weighted about 8&1/2 stone before i became preg, and about 8 stone after i gave birth. (didn't put on weight throughout pregnancy and then gave birth at 31 weeks) however ive got depression (which i have got tablets for) and haven't really left the house (i used to go out all the time) this means i am not getting exercise and my weight has crept up. i do eat healthy (i am a vegetarian and i don't like chocolate!!) but obviously for me exercise is a vital in loosing weight aswell.
Has anyone had liposuction im not obese just have a bit of fat here and there (i now weight around 10&1/2 stone) does anyone know if this treatment would be right for me and how much it would cost. i think that if i get a bit of my fat removed so it doesn't hangover my clothes that i would go out and me and my boy can enjoy days at parks and i would then get the exercise i need. Because the confident boost would have come from the liposuction. Thanks
-
ANSWER:
If you are certain you will exercise after, it might work. But if you get lipo and don't exercise and eat right, you just gaint he weight right back.
Personally, i say just go to the park and have a good time and lose the weight naturally. Spend that money on your household needs and your child.
Good luck

QUESTION:
liposuction is good?
i am a 19 year old male i used to weigh 300 pounds but due to working out and diet i was able to lose 100 pounds but now that i hit the 200 mark i cant seem to lose a pound anymore so my doctor advised liposuction only because i lost so much weight with exercise i seen some before and after picture of liposuction and i have to say it looks great and i was told because im young and work out the way i do it would be safer than it would be fore someone in there 30s or 40shas anyone had liposuction and loved their results or hated their results and does anyone thing that liposuction would get me the flat chest and stomach i have been wanting since i was really overweight
and please do not tell me to just work out do that already
sorry there are a few typos-
ANSWER:
It is not for obesity. It is to spot reduce certain areas. And, after it is done, if you eat a lot, the remaining fat cells enlarge, and you may need additional liposuctions to reduce again. But, it is good for specific areas that don't respond to diet and exercise, like love handles or a protruding abdomen.

QUESTION:
Liposuction after giving birth?
I asked this last night but did not get a lot of responses. Has anyody else had cosmetic surgery right after having baby? If so, how did it turn out. I have had lipo 2x before and the results were wonderful, but I gained the weight back because I did not watch what I ate and did not exercise. I am getting ready to start my nursing clinicals in 4 weeks and will not have time to lose weight the right way but am afraid of having lipo too soon? I put on 70 lbs with my pg, and just want to get a head start losing it?? Anyone else with this experience??
My dr. does the hooters girls. He does a great job!! I really isn't that painful - having my breasts done was 10x worse. It's about 00 where I am going, for upper and lower abd, inner and outer thigh, back of legs and a little bit of back fat. I gained a lot with this pg, I didn't gain as much with my first 2 kids. Plus I am older now and metabolism is slower. I have an appt. in 2 weeks to have it down, the day after my 6 wk check-up.Thanks for all your input!!
I use to work at hooters a few years ago, and actually made good money. It is not a joke, and I can afford to do it. My husband and I make very good money. AND, my kids are extremely well taken care of thank you very much. Don't be a hater!-
ANSWER:
No plastic surgery scares me so I don't think I would ever do it. 70lbs is a lot to gain during pregnancy and if you want to get lipo then go ahead. You should talk to your doctor about whether or not it is safe to do it so early. If you are going to be starting your clinicals then you will be excersizing quite a bit, just try to eat fairly healthy and it should be alright.

QUESTION:
How much would liposuction cost for ME?
Now, I'm by no means overweight. I just had a baby almost a year ago and I'm afraid I've lost all the baby weight I can naturally. I've had several people tell me that the only way I can get rid of this little "pooch" is with surgery.I don't know much about this and it's so hard to find decent information. The websites I've look at say that it can cost a couple thousand dollars, but all the women I've seen in the before/after pictures are overweight.
I'm 20 years old and am about 125lbs. I'm not big at all, and I know this. Please, keep in mind that I'm not doing it to lose weight, I'm just getting rid of this little bit of baby flab. It can't cost THAT much, can it?
And what is a tummy tuck? Is it more or less expensive? Which one should I be looking at?
PLEASE. Do not tell me that I don't need it, I'm not here for therapy or compliments. I'm just trying to find the answers to the questions I've asked.
-
ANSWER:
I had the "pooch" after my son and was in your EXACT situation. I had lost all my weight but the pooch was there. I had a plastic surgery consult and the doc said it is very common. I had a very small pooch, so he was able to do just lipo on my lower abs. I didn't need a whole tuck. It is approx. 2,000$ per area (2,000$ for lower abs, 2000$ for upper, etc.) So it cost me 00.
I was 122lbs when I had it done, so I know what you mean about not doing it for fat loss. I did it to get a better contour of my waist. I had to wear a pant size bigger due to the pooch! Getting rid of it made me more confident so I got into even better shape afterwards! Totally worth it! Also, I got pregnant again ad because they actually removed the fat, it did NOT come back.A tummy tuck is way more expensive because they are cutting away extra skin as well as fat removal. It all depends on how big your pooch is. Like I said, I only needed the lipo.... Feel free to email me if you want more info!!!

QUESTION:
Diet and exercise after liposuction?!?
I recently just had a baby, and am going to have some lipo done. I have done it 2x before but gained back the little bit of weight I lost because I did not change my diet or continue to exercise. I thought once they got rid of those fat cells, you were good, and I didn't have to do anything else, I would just stay skinny!! Can you say naive??!! =) Anyway, I am very focused this time and am using it as a jumpstart. I started at 145, delivered at 215 and 4 weeks later am still at 192. I was also 10 lbs heavier to start with because of meds I took for migraines that had weight gain as a side effect. So technically, I want to eventually get back to about 130-135, where I usually am. I would like some advice on what is the best way to eat healthy, to continue my weight loss after my procedure? I have an elliptical, between that and walking, is that sufficient enough exercise? I am starting my nursing clinicals in 3 weeks, so I will be in school full time, and I have a new baby! I am a lost soul, please, I need some helpful advice??!! I am no longer on those meds, and just want to feel attractive again!
#2 - I was really sick throughout my pg. - if I didn't eat , it made it worse, even with anti nausea meds. Plus I drank a lot of pop. I realize now, that I DO have to continue to work at it, to get it to stay off - it's not gonna stay that way - because I paid for it to. But, I don't know how to eat, low carbs, low calories, wheat bread, no bread????? I am asking for advice on how to stay healthy, not looking to be ridiculed!!-

what did you do that almost made you gain 100lbs during pregnancy? if you've had lipo done twice i don't think you want to look better by working...

QUESTION:
do you need to see a nutritionist before getting a lipo?
We were wondering since we heard that people has to try to lose weight before liposuction and stay eating and exercising really healthy after. Do doctors make you go to a nutritionist, or is your choice? Or jsut some doctors do it?-
ANSWER:
Here in Scottsdale, Arizona I have a lipo specialty clinic, Arizona Lipo, where that is all I focus on. With that being said here is my insight on liposuction. Tumescent Liposuction or “Liposculpture” cannot be used as a remedy for obesity, poor eating habits/lifestyle or as a method for weight loss but lipo can help you shape your body into a more desired figure and give you that boost of self confidence to live a healthy lifestyle after your lipo procedure. For a lot of patients the results achieved with lipo cannot be achieved with dieting and exercise alone. Liposuction offers a solution for those "problem areas". You are born with a predetermined number of fat cells in each area of your body, there is no variation, and there is no replication of remaining cells or re-growth of cells or migration of cells to the area, so once they are gone with lipo – they are gone! If there is dramatic weight gain after the lipo procedure, it will most likely be gained elsewhere in the body where the fat cells are most densely populated, not where the lipo procedure was performed. For example, if the client has fat removed with lipo from the outer and inner thigh area, then it is very possible that he/she might gain weight around the hips, buttocks, abdomen or stomach.
After working with some of pioneers in Liposuction and mastering my lipo technique on a few thousand patients of my own, I have noticed a consistent result a high level of satisfaction and overwhelming number of happy faces and cases.
Hope this information helps!

QUESTION:
I've decided to do Vaser Liposuction, but I need your help? Picture Included?
I'm a 22 year old female, in athletic healthy shape. There is something so strange about my body that I've struggled with for years, that I can't seem to fix. I have saggy, fatty upper arms. The rest of my body is toned and great, diet is good. I've even done so many bicep/tricep exercizes, but my arms sag. My mom has extremely saggy arms, but is in great phsyical shape, so it must be genetics.I've decided to go with Vaser Liposuction (the one done while you are awake with local anesthesia), but I'm afraid of dying while under. I had a consultation last week and was taken pictures of, etc. and the doctor said I would be a great candidate because I'm healthy, young, etc.
The receptionist told me she had Vaser Lipo performed on her last week, and showed me her before and after pic, and showed me the garment she was wearing. I asked for other before and after pictures of patients my age, and she told me the doctor just transferred out of a hospital on the east coast and just started his business here. I'm kind of uncomfortable with that, even though she is proof that it went well. They also gave me a great price.
How would you go about this? It seemed like a real professional environment, I've seen his degrees on the wall, and he was professional when discussing it all with me. Is this safe?
Also, will my skin bounce back into place once the fat is removed out of my arm or will I have saggy skin?
Here is a picture - THANKS!
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b281/Winter_Moon14/arms.jpg-
ANSWER:
OMG! Your arms look fine! You are just over critical of yourself, who isnt? But, if you must do it, it sounds good. You have living proof who showed you the results and the doctor sounds good. Google his name and if there is anything bad out there you will see it.

QUESTION:
Results without tummy tuck or liposuction? REAL????....?
I found a product that seems legit....I saw before and after pics, talked (via email) with the person in charge of the products and was told it worked and results were permanent.....Anyhow the product is all natural and here is the email she sent me: what do you think? The treatments work great for women after babies, including c-sections. I've had 4 babies and 2 c-sections. The results are permanent as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
In case you didn't see the pictures of the Natural Sculpting System Treatments, they are made of cloth and come pre-applied with herbal and homeopathic remedies. Each treatment is unique and patterned to target your abs, back, legs, butt, arms, chin, neck or face (specially formulated). The treatments allow you to spot target fat, tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. Click on the highlighted web-site below for pricing.
Although many people report Liposuction Like results, typically 1 treatment only
Its not a body wrap...its a cloth you place on the targeted area and sleep in it, i believe. I know theres more to it, like probably drinking lots of water, eating right.....but she said the results are permanent as long as i keep up a healthy lifestyle. I dont want to waste my money, but if it works for me, I dont want to NOT try it. anyone heard of this??
im 23, five ft one, and weigh 115...so i eat pretty well, and am fairly active...I just have some skin from c'sections, and thought if legit, why not try it....-
ANSWER:
I am not sure about this product. If I were you I would try to live a healthy life style i.e eating right and exercising to see of you can achieve the results you want on your own. Save your money, you can do it!!

ANSWER:
Last year my wife weighed 385 pounds and I weighed 360. Now she weighs 250 (still losing) and I weigh 220 (at 6'4" this is where I want to be). No drugs or surgery, no bizarre fads, no unrealistic exercise regimen. We did follow a program, but it was simply based upon removing salt, fat and refined sugars from our diet. You can't fool mother nature - in all but the rarest of cases obesity is a symptom of an underlying eating problem, and you can't get better by treating the symptom. It's like taking pain pills to mask the pain of a broken leg. Seems like a good idea for the first hour, but if you keep on walking on it you will end up permanently crippled.
You need to eliminate some possible medical causes (thyroid etc.), but assuming that you are metabolically normal there is no substitute for working on the diet side of things. It does not mean that you have to starve, but two thirds of Americans are now overweight, which means that if you eat like an "average" person then you are headed off the edge of a cliff along with the rest of the herd, liposuction or no liposuction.
It is tragic that we are pointing more and more toward surgical "quick fixes" instead of healthy choices. There is nothing down that road for you except grief. On the other hand, if you make the right choices for yourself then everything else in your life changes along with it. Self-control and moderation in one area of your life extends to other areas, and allows you to achieve things and feel good about yourself in a way that you could never imagine to be possible.
The dietary choices promoted by the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association both go a long way toward restoring balance in your life. No fads required - just common sense, perseverence, and respect for your body - the exact opposite of what is represented by cosmetic surgery.

QUESTION:
When getting plastic surgery, do you need to have money for everything if you are unable to get financed?
If I don't have very good credit to be considered for financing for plastic surgery (chin liposuction, do I just pay the surgical fees right afterwards and get a bill for the anesthesia/operating fees? Or do I have to pay for it all in one lump sum right there at the doctor's office right after or before the procedure?-
ANSWER:
Paid in full before the procedure. People have a bad habit of not paying anything once the surgery is done. You will be given a full breakdown of all the costs in advance.

QUESTION:
Has anybody had any experience with liposuction?
I have, more or less, decided to have liposuction performed because my job requires me to be under a certain amount of inches in my waist. I exercize 5 days/week and have only lost about 20 lbs. in the last 6 months, and nothing off my waist. Besides the fact that I am frustrated, I don't want to lose my job--it's the best job I've ever had.
What kind of lie can I come up with about how I lost so much weight so quickly? Is there a more normal, non-cosmetic surgical procedure or mishap requiring only a few days recovery that I can say was performed/occurred?
Anybody have any general experience with this procedure who could tell me whether or not it worked, and how you maintained the new figure? How long before strenuous exercize? How long, after the procedure, before you could have sex?-
ANSWER:
Losing weight is a combination of cardio, weight training and healthy diet. Liposuction is a temporary solution to your problem, you will gain it all back if you don't watch your diet.

QUESTION:
Liposuction and school?
I work out 4-5 times per week and am in overall really great shape. I love my body for the most part, except for my butt. The only time I notice a difference in that area is when the rest of my body starts to look too thin. So, I have decided that liposuction is the right solution for that particular problem area. How long after getting liposuction on my buttocks do I need to wait before being able to go back to classes?

QUESTION:
If I have liposuction of the face, where I carry fat genetically, will my face fill in again?
I've always had "chubby" cheeks, and I envy women who have thin faces. It seems like there are a lot of women out there who can gain weight and still have thin faces! My face always looks bloated and fat, and I'm very self conscious. At 5'6 and 133 pounds, I'd like to lose 10 pounds or so, but I'm certainly not overweight.Even when I do lose weight, my face always stays pudgy... I've been 105 pounds before, very small for someone of my height, and still felt my face was chunky. I hope to get this surgically "corrected", but I've heard of people gaining weight back after liposuction. Will this happen to me if I have the fat in my cheeks/under my chin sucked out?
What can I do??
-
ANSWER:
firstly, everytime i lose weight my dace stays pudgy but thats just the way my face was structured from youth and pies. Generally faces lose a bit of fat as you lose weight but there is a limit without hurting yourself. It is possible that the fat will indeed go back into your face as you age and put on weight. It is unfortunate that liposuction isnt a permanent fix. But, there is another way of having a face lift and tucking in certain areas like under your chin and stuff.
If i may be honest though, having a pudgy face isnt a bad thing and if you want to lose fat in your face you can do exercises that will help over time.
Hope this helps

QUESTION:
I am thinking about liposuction and have a few questions?
Maybe someone can help me .How much is it ?
How much many pounds can they take out?
Is it safe?
How long before I can get back on my feet after I have it.
I just can not do it the right way . But I know if I can get down to a better size than I am stay that size .I just want to go the Gap or some place that and just pick something out that I like . With out having it be mailed in.
-
ANSWER:
I had it on my flanks (love handles) during a tummy tuck. It depends on a lot of things.Price: mine was 0, but they discounted it because I was already fairly small. Normally flanks are about 00-1500. They took out 2 liters from me and said it was a little over 4 pounds.
It's safe if you go to a good doctor. You will have a LOT of swelling and bruising. You can be back on your feet and doing light activities in about a week.

QUESTION:
Thinking about liposuction?
Has anyone here had liposuction before? Your experience? And about how much does it cost? After effects? Thanks!-
ANSWER:
I am almost 1 week post-op from smart lipo (laser lipo). I was shooting for 5 areas at once (upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles, back bra line, and upper arms), but he had reached the limits of local anesthesia before he could do the arms, so I only had 4 areas done.It costs about 00-2500 per area, with some discounting for doing multiple areas at once. There is a wonderful thing called a medical credit card that you can apply for for cosmetic and elective surgery (as well as dental, vision, and such not covered by insurance), and you can see how much credit line you qualify for and pay it out in installments. There is a low introductory interest rate, in some cases 0%, if you pay it off within a certain time frame.
There is also some bloodwork you have to have done beforehand, as well as prescription meds to take (pain pills & antibiotics) and wound care supplies (gauze, antibiotic cream, bandaids, etc.) which would add another 0-400 in expenses to the procedure, depending on whether or not you have prescription cards, etc.
As for the experience, it's a bit too soon for me to tell if I am completely pleased with the end results, but it was not terribly painful. I stayed in bed on pain meds for 24 hours post-op, but was back up and functioning fairly normally on nothing but Tylenol by the next day. You still have to do some post-op wound care, massage, etc. for about 3-4 weeks post-op. I have numbness, soreness, and bruising in the area, but really not even as much as I expected.
If you have some areas that are not terribly huge and mostly cellulite, you might also consider the Vela Shape procedure. I had this done to my thighs & buttocks for about 0. It is completely non-invasive, and seemed to reduce the circumference and smooth out that area enough for me to drop a jean size.
I have also been dieting along with this work, so it could be a combination, but I really could tell an immediate difference in my legs from the VelaShape.

QUESTION:
Tummy tuck and liposuction question...please answer?
So i want to do something about my flabby stomach. I dont know if i need to undergo liposuction or tummy tuck... i think i am just going to see what the doctor says, but i intend to go under the knife to have a slimmer stomach so that i can feel better about myself. After lots of thinking and talking to my family, i finally realised that i really want this done.
So i dont know where to start.
I should book a consulation with my doctor.
And then what happens?
How long will it take after the consulation before i am able to get the surgery?
What would i need to do before the surgery?
What will happen on the day of the surgery?
What should i prepare for?
Do i need someone there to care for me?
How long will it take to kill?
About how long will it take before i am able to go back to work again?
Will people notice that i have had the surgery?
will i regret it later on?
When will scars fade?
What will scars look like over time?PLease let me know what you think and what you know about these two procedures.
It will be really helpful. Also, please dont tell to just go on a diet. I know what i want. I am fairly skinny. Infact i am very skinny and fit. I just cant seem to get rid of those fat deposits in my mid section. And i know that there is no such thing as spot training. No matter how many crunches or sit ups you do, if there is a thick layer of fat on top of your stomach then its not going to go anywhere unless you actually lose more weight thus lose weight overall all including your stomach. So i have decided that i want this done. And i am not going to change my mine.
Anyway i hope you can help me with my questions.
Thankyou for answering

ANSWER:
Tummy tuck and abdominal liposuction are both risky and more complicated than liposuction done in other areas simply because the area and the amount of fat that needs to be removed are generally larger and bigger. After consultation with the surgeon, he/she should tell you:
-whether you're a candidate for the liposuction/tummy tuck
-what can you expect from the surgery
-what are the costs involved
-what are the risks there
-what are your preference - do it in hospitals/clinics
-what are your pain tolerance
-what allergies you've and what medications you take
-what skin elasticity you've
-what down time you can expect to have
and many others, if you're going to a professional, qualified, board-certified surgeon, that is....You can go for the surgery as scheduled if you're in good health and have no medical history.
Before the surgery, you really need to find out if you have to take long or short leave and if you need someone to accompany you to the hospital/clinic before and after the surgery.
You will have general anesthesia (GA) which put you to sleep to reduce the pain of the surgery. Then the surgeon will cut open an area to insert a canula into it for the purpose of "sucking" out as much fat as possible. Please note here that a cut is made (that means invasive surgery), hence wound and blood are involved.
You should prepare for the risks (not prepare but be aware of) and the complications that might arise from the surgery. I've a guide here on the risks: http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/liposuction-risks.html
Yes, you need someone to help you esp.in managing to wear and take off the compression garment which you would need to put on after the surgery.
It will become fatal if too much fat is removed.
You need at least 1 to 3 weeks before you can go back to work.
Your tummy area is covered, so naturally people will not see it unless your tummy was very big indeed before you go under the knife.
If the surgeon is a sloppy, unqualified and unscrupulous one who's only interested in getting your money, you might be in for some disappointment as the job could be really quite "sloppy".....
Scars take a long time to fade. Give them 1 year to heal.
If you've a young skin, the scars heal smoothly so they are not that noticeable; the reverse is true if your skin is older.

This website is very informative in describing the two procedures and I even purchased the doctor's book from Amazon.com called, The Smart Woman's Guide to Plastic Surgery. Although she will not be my doctor, I learned a lot from the website and her book. Her website also has a photo gallery that you can explore.Liposuction

http://www.infoplasticsurgery.com/bodycontouring/tummy-tuck/Please be certain that your doctor is board certified with The American Society of Plastic Surgeons. If they are not certified with this particular board and they are certified with ANOTHER board, then don't choose that doctor. The The American Society of Plastic Surgeons is the only legit board that surgeons have to adhere to strict requirements for several additional years.

QUESTION:
Can i get this surgery before enlisting in the marines?
I have what is know as gynecomastia where i have enlarged nipples lol it is not serious at all I have no problems with it until i take my shirt off which is kind embarrassing, and I Might be getting surgery to get rid of it which is a very minor surgery which i think counts as Liposuction and I was just wondering if the marines will accept me if I get this done before i enlist or should i get it after I sign all the papers Im am 17 so would it matter if I did get it-
ANSWER:
I can't speak for the Marine Corps directly---I'm Navy---but from my understanding all of the military branches use what are essentially the same medical standards for enlistment. This is not the same as saying they use the same physical standards, since branches can set their own standards for height, weight, body fat, etc.In the case of medical issues, from what I've observed, everything that might have happened to you prior to enlisting is subject to a case-by-case review. There are some things that are automatically disqualifying, but most types of elective surgery are dependent upon whether the surgery introduced any new limitations on your physical condition. For example, surgeries that affect a joint or muscle so that strength or flexibility is affected, or surgeries that affect eyesight or hearing would be looked at very critically. Likewise, things like gastric bypass surgery or other procedures that affect internal organs will also be subject to scrutiny.
In my view---and please recognize that I'm NOT a physician---the removal of transcutaneous fat or other soft tissues as a form of weight loss or aesthetic plastic surgery would probably not affect any manner of physical readiness. Unless they do something to you that would by definition, change your basic physical capabilities, you should be fine. Make sure you keep all records, however, because they will want to go over them in detail.

QUESTION:
Do obese people have trouble recognizing who's overweight, who's anorexic, and who's at their optimal weight?
I seem to notice that whenever I see an online article showing a before and after photo of someone who's undergone liposuction (and really looked like they needed it based on the "before photo") there's always at least a dozen posters responding to the article and complaining that the patient wasn't THAT overweight prior to the procedure, and I can't help but think, "Are you messing with me?" I automatically assume that they must be very overweight themselves to make comments like that. For example, someone who's 70 pounds overweight might consider another individual who's 50 pounds overweight to be "skinny". I've also seen women in magazines who are shorter (and naturally slender) get ridiculed for being too skinny as well, but when someone is short, I think they're healthier-looking if they aren't as plump. These observations have always somewhat unsettled me because I am American, I keep up with the news, I'm relatively well-traveled, and thus I've heard the "fat American" stereotype already, and I'm considering pursuing a degree in public health... so I wonder if the morbidly obese have begun to think of everyone who's even slightly lighter than themselves as skinny. Is it just me or is this a bad sign of the times?
Joe Malang--Your answer is not even relevant.
For the record, I don't think people who ARE skinnier are always healthier. I remember my anatomy and physiology teacher telling us that this skinny kid in her last class had abnormally high blood pressure (the highest of anyone there).-
ANSWER:
This is down to the individual. I'm a UK size 14 and to be honest anyone under my size I see as slimmer but not slim. And everyone over this fat, but then so am I. So your theory is pretty good.
Obesity is at epidemic levels in the US and the health spending GDP just keeps rising. The UK is catching up with the US with obesity levels. Increases in heart disease, diabetes is costing both countries billions each year.
Personally though skinny is a term i would use for bony looking people.
I am a joint Honor's student studying health and you will love studying this subject. Its broad and topical.

ANSWER:
You have a very cool sexy figure with great shapes. I'm really envying your waist. The first impression I had was "what a cool waist!".
You're definitely not fat or overweight. Your body is shapely and beautiful. I think you should stop thinking about it that much and calm down. Because you look great!
Keep remembering to find the best parts in your body and concentrate all attention to it (sexy waist, beautiful skin etc) and dress accordingly.
Wear clothes that show off your great parts of the body.
About diets. Yeah, I recommend a life long diet. Because this is the only truth - if you want to change your shape for life, you should change your lifestyle.
I'm saying this because healthy lifestyle would keep you not only in a great shape but also your skin will glow, your teeth will be healthier, your hair will be stronger etc etc. Also, the most important, you'll feel better about yourself.
Exercise is also useful. I don't mean go to gym and lift weights or run on the treadmill while watching the bugging news there - that is so boring.
Instead find an activity that is fun and that is physically demanding, like playing basketball or cycling or trekking, or swimming, or yoga, or dancing etc....
However you have to remember that if your confidence doesn't improve throughout this process, which is very possible. Sometimes people change their appearance, loose weight, do a plastic surgery and still, feel not confident.
You should just make a decision of loving yourself the way you are NOW. Go stand in front of the mirror and say: "I love you and you're the best!"
PS NO LIPOSUCTION! ARE YOU CRAZY?! YOU'RE PERFECT!

QUESTION:
Help! anyone who has had a lipo!?
I Had a liposuction 10 days ago in my abdomen area, i am not overweight, just had that fat acumulated around my abdomen. My concern is that I can not see that much diference before and after my lipo, I am very worried it didnt worked out for me, i asked my doctor and he said that i am gonna see the results in a few weeks but i am soo worried that i do not belive him... is it normal that i do not see that much difference by now? when am i gonna see it?-
ANSWER:
You are being over anxious. You doctor probably warned you there would be swelling for several weeks before you would see noticeable results. Its common for everyone to have swelling after lipo and mistake it for fat. Just give yourself time to heal. Any surgeon will say it takes the body about 4-6 weeks to heal from all bruising and swelling. Be patient I bet it will look great in another couple of weeks.

QUESTION:
no surgery lipo. and tummy tuck? what do you think?
Although many people report Liposuction Like results, typically 1 treatment only works about 50% of the time. In most cases a 3 pack works great, but some people do need up to 6 treatments to get the results they're looking for. Six treatments is pretty much worse case scenario assuming you follow the exact instructions. You are also entitled to free phone or e-mail consultations with me.
As a limited time offer we are giving away free 1 ounce bottles of our defining gel with each 3 pack you purchase at
http://www.ukliposuctionalternative.com/order.htm You can use the defining gel to smooth and tighten any loose skin.If you have any questions at all, please call
this isnt a body wrap...its a cloth that I believe you just put on the specified area and you sleep in it? Is it possible for this to work?-
ANSWER:
This sounds a lot like body wrapping. Only with a body wrap, they wrap you very tightly (like a mummy) with a herb infused (or rather herb-gooped) cloth. You then lie down and sweat it out, but more often than not, you'll go on a treadmill and walk at a slow pace for about half an hour. What it does is takes out the excess water and it actually does tighten your skin. However, the effects are NEVER permanent. It works great if you need to lose an inch or so before some event, but eventually your skin will loosen again. How much? Just depends on the elasticity of your skin. If you eat too many salty foods after this treatment, your skin will balloon quicker than normal cause your body will then retain more water. I would leave this be. There is no magical solution to shrinking skin other than cutting it off. Liposuction actually takes fat out, this sounds like it just mushes it. I would stay away if I were you! Sounds like a scam to me.

Being 40 years old does increase the risk of problems with the baby. But her doctor can do some test to make sure all is well with the baby. The breast surgery may impede her chances of breastfeeding since there is tissue manipulation.

Liposuction?
should i get it before i have kids or after? do they do tummy tucks afterwards and other tucks? im new at this, so please help, thank you.-

I don't know anything about tummy tucks really, but If you get it done before you have a child your skin will have less stretch in it for a growing baby, so if you were going to have anything done, I would defiantly say after.

Who here has "muffin top" issues? Miracle for muffin tops!?
From the bottom of my heart--and to all women who have these issues, fear no more. A new you awaits you. The best shaper/product--whatever you want to call it-- I have ever purchased in my life. I am a new woman because of this. Life is too short to spend dreaming and battling at the gym. They have t-shirts that suck you right in and give you an automatic hour glass and were specially designed to do so--not like spanx!! that make you look like a sausage!
I have always been a skeptic and have worked out/dieted, cut my carbs, etc. and seriously, I have always dreamt of wearing tight jeans with a fitted t-shirt--but after my son was born (and even before) have had a flabby stomach and always wear tunics or large sweaters. I IMPLORE EVERYONE HERE WITH THE SAME ISSUES to try these body shapers that were designed by some doctor that was always given to liposuction patients after surgery but are now on the market.
Absolutely amazing. Good luck to all! And I challenge all to dare to transform themselves

I want to get a liposuction/fat transfer?
I will finally turn 18 next month and am excited for the lipo suction i've been dreaming of. Ever since 5th grade I had hormonal issue that led to me devolving much faster and not so greatly. My hips grew in great size and didn't balance out with my body until the big butt and thighs came in. Sadly, no issues up in the top part of my body, so i guess i was still unbalanced. I have 00 dollars saved, and will soon be going to get ready to make plans for my surgery AFTER my birthday (they didn't care I was almost 18, I had to be for the lipo and they won't get in trouble, lol) I was wondering the average cost for a waist/buttocks lipo and thigh lipo. We asked the, but it'd depend on what the doctor and me figure about how much of the area I want gone ad such. But what's a guess? He says most aren't over 8,000 (and that's both hip/butt and thighs)And actually getting "combos" can lower the price for some strange reason he said. I was told it would be best to get one done first, recovery to a certain point, then do the the other for a natural look and safe healing process. But after my fat has been removed, or before the surgery even happens, I was going to ask to add the fat to my breast? Is it a smart idea? Just to make somewhere in the upper B cup size, nothing crazy or should i wait on the breast idea and se myself after the surgery? Thanks for any answers!Oh, and I have tried diets and exercise and such, and I did lose weight, but even though I lost only 20lbs over a YEAR, with no junk food but around 3 times a week or less and no soda, the area all shrunk together still making me seem the same size. Not noticeable at all. And even with daily 30 min to 1hr of workouts I only come out sore until my body got used to the plan, but wasn't losing the weight.

ANSWER:
Lipo is a really sad way of losing weight. Just exercise and eat right. Look at fat contents, calories, etc. Don't get obsessed or anything, but make conscious decisions. Weight watchers might be a good decision (You are't really that fat, but WW is good even if you need to lose a little weight. You can do their online program, you don't have to go to meetings if you don't want to!) Also, running is a good exercise, same with biking and Pilates.

QUESTION:
How long do I wait to see results from liposuction?
I had liposuction performed on my upper and lower abdomen and also my flanks about 4 days ago. The day after I took off my bandages and was amazed, my stomach looked flat, and I couldn't be happier. The next day the swelling went down and the following day the swelling went down more and now the results have changed. It looks the same way that it did before I got surgery. Is it just swelling that occurred after the surgery? Should I be concerned? Will it go away? I did my research and found the best plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills and best reputation and I am just so scared that I will see no difference/results. Also I have resumed all my normal activities, maybe I have been over doing it and I should just rest to keep the pain to a minimum and maybe make swelling disappear?-
ANSWER:
Hi,
From the information i read about liposuction, you are now experience swelling and some initial discomfort. All of this will subside with time. And depending on the amount of liposuction, it is advice that normal activity can only be continued 10 days to several weeks after the surgery
