Large Breast Augmentation

My approach to selecting a size for one's breast augmentation is that it is the patient's choice. It is not for me to judge someone's taste or desires. Breast size is a very personal issue and it is, to some degree, a bit like art. Beauty (breast size) is in the eye of the beholder. My goal is to make the patient happy. I usually do this by asking the patient to show me pictures of what size they think looks good and then I try and match that size concept in the surgery. The only preoperative measurement that carries much weight to me is the base diameter of the patient's breast. I have found few women want a breast implant that goes too far to the side and gets in the way of arm movement. Therefore, I keep the breast implant size to no greater than the existing breast base width. If the size is going to exceed the breast base width, that is one good reason to go with a high projecting breast implant so that one's breast volume comes forward and less to the side.

In the majority of breast augmentation in my practice, I find that most women select sizes that would be viewed as 'reasonable'. Most of my breast augmentation patients choose breast implants in the size range of 300cc to 450cc. The rest of my breast augmentation patients get implants in the 450 - 700cc size range. In a taller and heavier patient, these breast implant szies may appear not unduly large. For smaller women, these breast implant sizes would be considered quite large.

While it is not my concern when a patient chooses alarge breast implant, I have an oblication to inform them that there are some long-term consequences to that choice. First and foremost, it is easy to increase the size of the breast but it is difficult to go the other way. To go down in breast szie later in life, the excess skin may also have to be reduced to maintain a good breast shape, resulting in breast scars. Secondly, the larger the breast implant, the more loss over time the patient will have of their remaining breast tissue, otherwise known as pressure atrophy. In many large breast implants over time, the patient will only be left with skin and a breast implant with little breast tissue in between. Lastly, the weight of a very large breast implant over time may cause the entire breast to sag, weakening the skin support of the breast under its own weight.

Patients who choose large breast implants also need to appreciate that a woman's perception and goals of her breasts will change throughout her life. Like that nice cute tattoo that was put on in your twenties, it may not look so cute when you are forty.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How Large Will the Breast Augmentation Incisions Be?

    • ANSWER:
If you have your Implants inserted under the breast, the incision runs across the whole underside-If done through the nipple area-the incision runs around the entire aereola. I had breast implants for 30 yrs. inserted under the breast-the scars are hardly noticeable, especially because of them being hidden. I had the Implants removed about 10 yrs. ago-had reconstructive surgery-that,s when everything had to be done-around the nipple area-and underneath to remove them. The scars are minimal after a while-good to put a scar gel/cream on them-but only when they are completely healed. Aloe gel (pure Aloe) is also a great and natural scar healer. Good luck, you,ll be fine.

  2. QUESTION:
Breast augmentation for one breast larger than the other?
Hey, I had an accident when I was younger and now one of my breasts are larger than the other, id say 1-2 cup sizes difference. Im pretty sure my insurance would cover it but im scared to have an operation.
has anyone had a similar experiance?

Will they look and feel the same? (like one obviously has an implant, the other doesnt?)

Is an implant better than reduction? (one is like a b, other is a d)

    What kind of implants (silicone,etc)

What does it feel like afterwards, how long to heal..

How do I know a good doctor from a bad one, or where to look up good doctors, or how can i choose one? My insurance doesnt cover many.

  3. QUESTION:
Why is their breast augmentation, but no penis augmentation?
Am I the only one seeing how sexist our society truly is??? Doctors have found ways to prey on women and these women pass exorbitant amounts of money for larger breasts. Why hasn't anyone pioneered a penis enlargement surgery or something? Why is it only the women who get criticized for looking a certain way?

    • ANSWER:
      or a cock pump

  4. QUESTION:
If a woman with naturally large breasts gets a de-augmentation is that a slap in God's face?
Is that what makes God so angry that he causes catastrophes like Haiti and the tsunami that we all conveniently forgot about?

    • ANSWER:
every time theres a Tsunami I think that some dumb blonde with 74 DDD displaced enough water to drown an island

  5. QUESTION:
    Breast augmentation ?
Im a d cup but hate the shape of my breasts - are my breasts too large to get an augmentation to make them slightly larger (say a double d) and rounder? Will surgeons perform augmentations on women who already have large breasts?

    • ANSWER:
If you want to change the shape of your breasts, then you need a breast lift.

Ask your surgeon for a breast lift + breast augmentation for rounder, perkier, and bigger breasts.

And most surgeons will do anything you want as long as you pay them (as long as it's ethical and legal)

  6. QUESTION:
Question for women who have had breast augmentation?
I enjoy running long distances and I am also considering breast augmentation....however I am going to a very conservative size, large B to small C.....After the appropriate time to heal, and with the right sports bra, does it hurt or cause any discomfort to run? Does it cause back pain?

    • ANSWER:
My wife just had some installed and they are fantastic. I could never tell they where fake and she went from an A to DD. They where placed behind the muscle and with the new silicone implants you cant tell. The less expensive implants (saleen) are more noticeable and don’t feel real. I would spend the extra for the better implants IMO.

As for running there will be an effect because you are adding weight to your chest but I think once healed and wearing the right sports braw you should be ok.

I wopuld also recomend going bigger than a B or C. I say this because we where thinking the same as you and going more conservitive. But when it was all done the DD look great and are not all that bit. They are not so big they stand out but I would say big enough to where nice clothes.

Your doctor should really help you. The dortor we used was recommended and he really new his stuff and guided use through alot of it.

  7. QUESTION:
Is there a way to tell if my new girlfriend had breast augmentation?
Her breasts seem unusually large for her frame and I am suspected she had implants but I don't want to ask.

    • ANSWER:
      yep!
they will be bulbous lookin' & feel really squidgy like!
aint ya felt them yet then?

  8. QUESTION:
What size for my breast augmentation should I go with?
I'm getting a silicone breast augmentation done...I qualify at age 21 because I have one tubular breast which is an entire cup size smaller than the other.
I was trying on the implants and I liked the 550cc's. (my other one would need to be a 600). I just don't know if that's too big...as it would probably be a D cup. Right now I have an A cup. I have very large shoulders so I am able to support big boobs, and they looked normal on..I just don't know. I like to run..how much would the large breasts effect that? I know that they stay in place more than real ones. I guess I'm just debating because 550ccs seem sooo big. and seeing pictures of girls online who got like 480s...ended up with a D cup. Any opinions appreciated!!

    • ANSWER:
I went from a 32B to a 32D and 450s worked for me. I love my decision and they are definitely worth it.

In terms of exercise, I was a cheerleader when I had them done, but they were not a big problem. Just make sure you get a good sports bra and that should hold them up. Of course they take some getting used to without a doubt. I love my implants and hope you get to enjoy yours too.

  9. QUESTION:
Anyone know what 525cc breast would look like from a large a small b cup?

How much does a breast augmentation cost on average?
I live in Oregon, and am considering getting my breasts done. Im 18 years old and have health insurance. I know it probably varies but I would like to know an average cost. I am currently about a 36B to a 34C depending on where I shop. I would like to go up to a large C cup.

  11. QUESTION:
How much is the average breast augmentation for the middle class citizen?
And do they ALL look fake? Or is that only if you get them very large?

    • ANSWER:
Depending on the doctor that you choose and the area that you live in it will be somewhere around 00/00... Nope, they don't all look fake. Mine look very proportionate to my body and I really wish that I had gone slightly larger. You won't end up look like a porn-star unless you make that request to your doctor and you will have a pretty good idea before hand of how large they will be. Doctors typically don't discuss size in terms of cup size but rather cc's - implant size and fill. I suggest that you do ample research, choose a board certified surgeon and be sure that you are doing if for YOU..:)

  18. QUESTION:
Breast augmentation: Has anyone had to have corrective surgery because the breasts were different sizes after?
I had breast increase size (saline) completed and one is larger than the other. I have over a week before I see the doc again and I unsatisfied with the results; one was filled more than the other and noticable. Has this happened to anyone? Now what do I do or ask the doc to consider? Seems there would be a more scientific way to get this done so this wouldn't happen.

    • ANSWER:
Just about every woman has one breast which is bigger than the other. When I had my augmentation 7 years ago, my left breast needed 330 CCs and my right 365 CCs.

After the surgery you have swelling but both breasts should be very close to the same size. If you can see a significant difference? Your plastic surgeon, to put it bluntly, screwed up.

You should have been told at your last consultation how many CCs were needed in each breast in order to balance them.

I would not wait a week. Call the office & tell them what is going on & get in there sooner. The implant MAY be leaking. If so, I think it needs to be removed very soon. It is either that or the surgeon did not do the right job.

Honestly sweetie, you should not be able to tell a difference.

  19. QUESTION:
Recent Breast Augmentation with implant concern?
I am 3 weeks post op from having a breast augmentation. I have a concern, and need to know what opinions I can obtain to ease my mind. I had a augmentation due to weight loss, and kids, I was a small B and they were low and very loose. I am 5'9 and went with saline under the muscle, I had a crescent lift on the right breast which was my larger breast. I had 550cc in the right breast and 600cc in the left breast. I love the size, and very happy with the lift, and happy with the look of my left breast. My concern is that the right breast is very RECTANGULAR, and the implant is obviously high, when I bend over my saggy small breast still dangles and my implant is in my chest wall. Will the implant ever move into the breast pocket or do I for see a redo on the right???????

    • ANSWER:
I have 550 cc implants and they didnt do that at all. I have never heard of that. You should tell your doctor.

  20. QUESTION:
    breast augmentation.. at 16?
if i had the chance.. i would get a boob job!
i feel like people dont take me as seriously because i am sixteen and i cant even properly fill out an A cup.. pathetic

my mom is sadly a tiny 36A.. but both my grandmothers have very large breasts.
so far at 16, and i havent grown any larger since about 13-14, i have very small breasts

people say that women do not stop growing until age 21 and that they have stories where they suddenly grew into an entire cup size bigger. i just find this hard to believe

so, 1. is there a chance i will grow into a decent size (percentage chance?)
    2. when would be safe to get breast enhancement?

i know that many of you will be against it but i know it would make me feel much more confident
i could wear better clothes, even myself out, and be proud to go out in a bikini! and not constantly be wondering if guys think i look like an 11 year old

    sorry if this offends anyone
also i dont mean like size D or anything.. id be happy even with a B, as long as i look somewhat like a woman is supposed to :(

    • ANSWER:
fake boobs look gross. don't do that to yourself. Small breasts can be VERY cute and sexy. Don't assume that all guys want women with larger breasts. Men all have different preferences, and some like large, some like small, and some don't care either way. I personally am crazy about smaller breasts. They're amazing. They also age much better than bigger boobs.

Truthfully though, so long as you have a cute butt, you'll always have more guys drooling over you than you could ever realize. Don't be so hard on yourself.

  21. QUESTION:
Should I Get A Breast Augmentation!?!?!??!?
I am 18, I had my period a month before my 13th birthday. the women on the dads side of the family have large breasts and the women on my moms side have average size breasts

i have a big ass but i am pretty much flat chested so i want to get breast implants so my body is more in proportion and i look better in clothing

what i am most concerned about is that i will get the implants and then i will grow in a few years or so and it will be all pointless but at the same time not having breasts is something thats really bothering me and has been for a long time

    thanks in advance =)

    • ANSWER:
If you're 18, they're not going to get much bigger. An augmentation will be around 7k, and the best way to know if you're a good candidate is to schedule an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon. They can tell you better than anyone here and it won't cost you more than 0 for peace of mind.

  22. QUESTION:

I read on MSNBC 4-5 mos. ago a doctor in Japan was pioneering stem cell usage for breast augmentation. Hooray for stem cells!!! BTW, imho many men find plasti-chests kinda repulsive as well. I say wait a little while and see where the research goes - it will happen for sure, but will it be safe? Best of luck.

  23. QUESTION:
How do i make them bigger naturally, no breast augmentation.?
My breast are'nt all that big, even though people do tend to notice them i want to make them bigger!. How do i make them grow larger quickly in a nautural way? Please eveyone that has been through this experience help!!?

    • ANSWER:
If people are already noticing them, then why do you want them to grow? ;-) Seriously, there is NO natural way to make your breasts
grow bigger, besides hormones orally or by injection (dangerous and expensive!). Very rarely do today's birth control pills have this
side effect (the old ones in the 70's had almost 4 times the hormones that current ones have). Like someone implied earlier,
you can get them to LOOK bigger with specialized bras. Fredrick's
of Hollywood has their pushup and water bra types that can make
      you look quite bigger........

  24. QUESTION:
What size breasts do you prefer and why?
Please do tell, guys and girls.

I wish mine were much bigger, but all my friends say that I should not get a breast augmentation because large breasts are a pain in the back.

    Chime in.

Okay girls, please don't pretend that just because you are hetrosexual you can't admire a nice set of hooters. Beauty is beauty even if she has the same gear as you.

Medium humm.. nah I still say, clost to Dolly Parton would be fine.

    But mine are ant hills

    • ANSWER:
I think as long as they are a decent size (like, at least a 34B), that fine, but bigger is definitely better, and huge boobs are ideal

  25. QUESTION:
    Has anyone had breast augmentation?
I'm 20 years old, and have been considering getting breast implants.
    I'm 5'10, average/slim build, and an A cup.
I feel like I would have more confidence in my clothes with larger breasts. My boyfriend supports me either way, but I haven't been able to contact anyone who has had the surgery. I live in Michigan and I want to, of course, find the BEST doctor.
I also know that there are different types of implants. I want the safest, and most natural. I'm not looking for whopping DD's either, just a full B or C cup. I don't want huge, I just want them to fit my body.
I don't want to look like a porn star, which is what I've always associated fake breasts with.
But, I'm sure there are plenty of women who've had the surgery.
Could you give me some information?
    Thank you so much

    • ANSWER:
I got my BA 10 years ago when I was 23. I am 5'10" and was about your size before and was about a 34D after. Before my surgery, I found it hard to fill out clothes properly being as tall as I was. I got round, textured, unders, 500 cc's. I wish that I had gone a little smaller as I was smaller framed at the time and 500cc's made me look a little top heavy. I did about six months of research before my surgery and consulted with around 10 surgeons before choosing mine.

The truth is that you will be placing a bag filled water inside of your body and the chances of it looking and feeling completely natural are slim. It takes a while for the implants to drop and your skin will be really tight and stretched for a while. As is with any surgery, there is pain involved and you will have to massage your implants for the first few weeks to soften them and to avoid getting capsular contracture, the hardening of the scar tissue around the implant. I took a week off of work for my surgery, but I should have really taken two because of pain and just getting used to doing normal things again.

I do not know of any plastic surgeons in Michigan and I do not live in that state, but I did a lot of my research at www.implantinfo.com.

Maintenance is required with this type of surgery and you will more than likely have to have them replace in 10-12 years. Slow leaking with occur and sagging or dropping of the breasts.

I have absolutely not regrets about my surgery and am really happy that I did it.

      Best of luck to you!

  26. QUESTION:
Am I overreacting about the results of my breast augmentation/reduction? This is a serious question! help!?
    Hi there,
I am a 21 year old student who was born with very assymetric breasts. One being a b-cup and the other being a d-cup. And finally last October, my wishes to have surgery came true. To the smaller breast, I just augmented it with 500cc. As for the larger breast, did a breast reduction as well as augmenting it with 250cc. All of which my doctor recommended.

I know my breasts will and never can be perfectly symmetrical however my nipples and areolas are not aligned.

And my initially larger and reduced breast now has a very dark colored nipple and areola with thick scarring around it. As for my other one is quite light in color and natural in apparance.

I know that there will always be healing and changes throughout time. But I feel like there could've been a better outcome? Or, what could I do to help this situation? Please, I'm really worried and in dire need of a lot of help! Any advice?

    Thanks
not that my nipple and my areola are not aligned. my nipples on both breasts are not aligned with each other.

    • ANSWER:
I had breast augmentation done. Both were filled with 400 cc saline. . Initially, surgeon recommended different amt of saline for each. However, I insisted and got 400.
Normally, a female's breasts are assymetrical. If you're right-handed; the right one tends to be slightly bigger.

It seems that the surgeon used a different approach on you . Mine was under my armpits so my nipples were not touched at all. On the other hand, my neighbor had a breast reduction. Hers lookes like she has been butchered. The incision line run horizontally and then vertically like a cross.
across the breast including the nipples. .

Don't worry, in due time, that scarring should lightened just like the other one. If you just had it done, you could apply Mederma to help with the scars. I used it for my Tummy Tuck incision.

The doctor usually do follow-up visits with you. All expected outcomes should have been discussed with pre-operatively. Now, ask him if these results are expected. And what he intends to do about the exagerated assymetry if indeed they are. They normally make markings on your chest. The only thing I'm concerned about is the difference in sizes. After the reduction of the one with the d-cup; 500 cc should have been injected too. Or for a better and normal result to get some of the breast tissues and transplant it to the smaller b-cup.

In addition, be comforted with this thought -to you maybe the nipples do not look aligned. Initially, I also complained that my nipples were not aligned. But after measuring and levelling them with a ruler, they are aligned. according to an interested observer- my husband. The surgeon might be able to measure them.

I also complained of so much pain due to the expansion of the chest muscles. They got in the way. I can't get a proper position to sleep. I wanted them out. Eventually, i got used to them. Now, they feel like a part of me. Are you doing the exercises they recommended?

I'm very well pleased with the results. And there were no complications and horror stories that I hear about on TV. .

  27. QUESTION:
Lesbians: Would you ever consider breast augmentation for cosmetic reasons...?
I'm talking about a desire to have larger breasts, not repairs after breast cancer. Do women who like women feel compelled to do this to themselves.
To the individual who told me I don't "understand" that lesbians feel like they have too look good compared to both other women *and* their partners, I assure you that I do. That said, it has been argued that breast augmentation is a symbol of male oppression since it not only objectifies the woman, but objectifies her at the expense of her own sensations. Under this theory, it is assumable that lesbians would experience a lower frequency of breast augmentation. I personally haven't known anyone who had cosmetic breast implants. I did recently fellate a gentleman who had mutilated himself with a penis "augmentation". It was sad.

    • ANSWER:
No way. I love my body the way it is, thanks.

  28. QUESTION:
Wrong size implants used in breast augmentation?
I have recently undergone breast augmentation and from the outset i noticed that one breast was larger then the other. I put this down the swelling, but i have been for my first check up today and when i raised this with the doctor he admitted that he had used the wrong implant!

Obviously very apologetic and has said he will replace the incorrect implant with the correct one.

This does mean i will have to have another 2 weeks off work and i am wondering whether i should be getting any compensation for the additional time off (Which i will get basic sick pay for if lucky) and the inconvenience and discomfort of going through the operation again.

Can anyone advise me as the best way to deal with this issue and if should be looking to claim compensation, what sort of figure i should be looking for.

    Thanks

  29. QUESTION:
Will my breast become larger when they drop into place after a breast augmentation?
I just got breast implants 9 days ago. I was a 34B and The surgeon told me that with the implant size I want (480cc's) I would definitely be a size D or even DD. The problem is, is that I went back to work this week and everyone is telling me that I look the same. I can tell I look bigger with my top off, but when Im wearing clothing they do look the same as before. Will this change? I only had the surgery 9 days ago so they are still up high and hard because I had the implant placed under the muscle. I have heard that once the implant drops into the right place, and fluffs out they will look even bigger. I just wanted to know if anyone on here had the same experience, and what was your size outcome?

    • ANSWER:
Implants will drop, but actually, if the swelling already went down, then no, they won't seem bigger, they will just drop and seem more natural.

after they drop, get fitted for a bra, if you didn't reach the size he promised, go back and he might fix it free of charge by inflating the implant more (if it's saline).

The number one issue with girls who get implants is that they always regret not going bigger.

  30. QUESTION:
Is there any legitimate way to naturally increase my breast size?
For starters, I am a size 34-36B, which would seem a reasonable breast size. But, my body shape (petite, plump but not overweight, large trunk area) is not proportionate with my breast size. I am very apprehensive about breast augmentation surgery because of: 1. the risks involved with the surgery; and, 2. the cost of breast augmentation. Is there any tried-and-true, honest-to-goodness, NATURAL method to increase my breast size?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi There,

For starters, it's no secret that most women desire larger breasts, so there's absolutely nothing wrong with your natural desire for bigger breasts. To be quite honest, I have even considered it in the past, and interviewed some of the most renknown surgeons to carry out this procedure in Canada and the United States.

In the end, I opted out for the exact same reasons as you mentioned. Not to mention, you're "treated like cattle" in breast surgery procedures, which was another turn off for me - even if you're paying "top dollars", easily upwards of ,000.

To answer your question further about natural breast enlargement, do choose your product carefully and do your research. Natural products for breast enlargement and solutions for the most part do not negatively affect your health.

However, since ingredients may be absorbed into the bloodstream, it is important that you use a natural breast augmentation product that does not have any chemicals. If you do not choose an all-natural solution, you could run this risk of contracting a serious health condition, such as cancer.

Have you ever heard of Mirofirm? It's a pure extract of P. mirifica. This herb comes from Thailand and grows in the deciduous forests. Locals have used it for centuries as an effective way to enlarge breasts. Remedies that have been proven to work for hundreds of years are more effective.

It contains no chemicals, harmful preservatives, artificial coloring or synthetic hormones. Based on my in-depth research, I believe using a product with this herb will provide you with a safe and risk-free breast enlargement system that will deliver real results, according to other women's shared experiences and results.

It's available in a serum and is used by massaging two drops of the breast enlargement formula into each breast daily. When it is applied, women notice that their breast size increases, their stretch marks and wrinkles are less noticeable and the overall appearance of their breasts is much perkier.

i just had a breast augmentation done, and i regret going too small. is there any hope left for me?
i just had a breast augmentation procedure three weeks ago... i was really worried about going too large. i was a small 32A. i told the doctor i wanted to be a small C. he recomended that i go 350cc's. i took a jump and went to 360cc's under the muscle... now that its all over and done with, im absolutely DEPRESSED about my breast size. i asked the doctor to be a C and im barely a full B.... i feel really depressed about not going larger... by the looks of my size i think i should have gone as far as 420cc's.... im so sad about the outcome that i feel like having another surgery to make them the size i wanted them to be.... right now i dont have the money to get them re-done so im feeling like i should drop 10 pounds... (im currently 120) ..... im thinking if i drop 10 pounds, then my breast will look alot more fuller and larger with a smaller frame.... i was just hoping if there were more options out there for me besides loosing weight or going to have another procedure done....

    • ANSWER:
They will harden and leave scar tissue and lose shape. A bad idea. Don't do this for a man or anyone else. You need counseling to deal with low self-esteem and it is unlikely you need to lose weight. Ask for a screening on depression.

  33. QUESTION:
    Breast augmentation question?
So I've recently began thinking about breast aug because my breasts have changed and I don't know why. One is alot larger than the other one. One is between an A and B cup and the other is almost a C. If it weren't for this, I don't think I'd be thinking about breast augmentation. Have you had this problem, and what do plastic surgeons do to make them the same size? Is one silicone bigger than the other one?

  34. QUESTION:
Implant profile? Only answer if you've had breast augmentation...?
My doctor suggested low or medium profile implants for me because I don't want to go too large and I want them as natural as possible, but I've heard that the low profile are rarely used. I have a small to medium frame....Anyone here had breast augmentation? If so, what did you go with and were you happy with the results?

    • ANSWER:
Go with medium! After surgery, there will be a lot of swelling and so your breasts will look larger than normal, and you get used to seeing that. Once the swelling goes down though, you will you had gone that extra size. So I say, if you are going to get them done, might as well go the whole mile.

  35. QUESTION:
After benign breast lump removal are your breasts misshappen? If so is it permanent & requiring augmentation?
My friend was told that she has a large (more than likely) benign lump in her breast that needs to be removed. She is very understandably upset and worried that she will have a big dent in her breast. I want to put her mind at ease but I'm not sure what she can do after the surgery if in fact her breast looks differently than before. Will it be permanent? Every thing I have read indicates that reconstructive breast augmentation is generally not needed after a lumpectomy. But I cant find anything about breast shape post surgery or how to deal with a caved in or dimpled breast. Any helpful insight or suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
Obviously I only deal with cancer and most of the breasts I see have had more extensive surgery I rarely see the lumpectomies, but I had a benign lump removed about 15 years ago and I have to look really hard to find the scar. My breast doesn’t look any different than it did before. Some of this will depend on the size of the lump and the location, the size of the breast and the skill of the surgeon. Mine was at 2:00 on the left. This is something she needs to talk to the surgeon about and she should get more than one opinion. I told mine right off that I was concerned about the scar and dimpling and wondered if he was good enough to do it so that it would not be noticeable. (All surgeons think they are the best.) Then we argued through the whole surgery, because I’m a terrible patient. If mine could turn out so well after that your friend will be fine too. Good luck.

  36. QUESTION:
    Breast augmentation on the nhs?
I recently went to the doctors enquiring about having assymetrical breasts (one larger than the other) and she referred me to a plastic surgeon for a consultation to have one on the nhs. Just wondering if anyone knows If I were to pass all the tests, what operation would they be likely to perform- either two different size implants or just one implant in the smaller side? Thanks x

    • ANSWER:
One implant in the smaller side - Or a reduction in the larger side - I was offered this and even had the appointment in stoke but lost my bottle and couldn't go through with it! - To be honest I'm glad I didn't know I always worried it may interfere with the ability to breast feed and the doctors said there is a 50/50 chance of being able to breast feed after the op!
Good Luck with whatever you decide!

  37. QUESTION:
    Information about Breast Augmentation.?
Im thinking about getting a breast augmentation. Theres just a few questions I have. I am currently a large person. Im 5'2" and 215lbs. Im going to be working out and loosing a lot of weight, this I am determined to do so its gonna happen. If I get the augmentation and start losing weight will this effect anything? My breasts are currently a 40DD and rather saggy, I had a kid 4 years ago so they arent what they used to be. I dont want my breasts to be that big when I have them done I would like a C or possibly a D depending on how it will look. My main goal is to make my breasts more "perky" I hate them now they sag way too much. I want a natural look as well. So I guess my main questions are, what kind of breast augmentation should I get if I want to decrease the size and lift my breasts, and will loosing a significant amount of weight after having the augmentation done effect the quality or the procedure?

Any information you can give me is appreciated.

  38. QUESTION:
Would you get a breast augmentation if this were you?
I have always been one that loves and appreciates my body the way it is. However, since having two children, my breasts have become two different sizes. One is a large C cup, the other is a small B. It is even noticeable when I wear a t-shirt. I'm contemplating a breast augmentation- what would you do?
No, I can't wear a bra correctly, either one is overflowing or the other one is swimming with extra room. And my husband is the one that brought up the fact that it is noticeable with a shirt on (although he is very supportive no matter what decision I make- he is not pressuring getting them done). My sister and mother can notice as well. I haven't asked anyone else- kind of awkward.
I don't want huge boobs at all! Just a C for me- hell, I'd take B's or A's as long as they were BOTH that size.

    • ANSWER:
in all honesty you are probably the only one who notices.

as a mother of 2 also with big boobs i understand the concern, but you have to remember MOST WOMEN has one breast that is bigger than another (diana troy from star trek for instance...)

if this is something you are serious about i would try using a different bra and stuffing it and walking around to see if its something you feel more confident with.

  40. QUESTION:
Breast Augmentation, deciding yes or no?
I have been considering breast augmentation since 2001-ish. I'm happy with other aspects of my appearance (5'10, 122 lbs) but I spend so much extra time trying to make my breast look the way I want them to. Shopping for "special" clothes and bras, spending extra time looking in the mirror, etc. I'm totally convinced that I will look better in every piece of clothing I have if my breast were bigger.

I'm currently a B cup - so I know that I'm not super tiny, but I'm not happy with that size. I'm considering going to a large C, small D range.

I'm worried about getting the surgery and not being happy with the results... as well as being worried about the possible complications. I also don't want to be viewed as a "dumb plastic"

What have you or other people you know done to finalize their decision to either get or not get breast augmentation?

    Thanks

  41. QUESTION:
can i have a breast augmentation (boob job) with a scar on my chest?
first of all i would like to say I'm 15 and I am not planning on having the procedure until my breasts have stop developing so that I am not damaging my breasts further. Also please I am asking for help here so please don't just say 'your too young for a boob job, I wouldn't if I were you' etc.

ok so when i was younger (like before i started developing) i had a bike accident were i ripped my chest open and had to get it stitched back up so now until this day I am left with this ugly pink scar that goes in like a curve shape over my right breast. Because of this my right breast has not grown as big as my other one and it is quite noticeable to me because I am a fairly large cup size (32D my smaller boob is around an 32A/32B at the most) and I would like to know if it would be possible to get breast augmentation. I don't think anyone else notices it at the minute because i wear something that helps fill out the bra but the larger boob is still growing so I think if it gets much bigger it will be very noticeably not only to me but to everyone else, also i would not like to be wearing something to fill out my bra for the rest of my life. I am scared to get changed in PE, at it has shattered my self-esteem. I am scared to get intimate with my boyfriend even though he is supportive and loves me so won't push me. I like everything about my body but when i look at my breasts i just want to cry.

So after all of that explaining my question is, can I get breast augmentation with a scar on my chest? And a branch off of my question is how much will it cost? Also when is the around about age I will stop developing so I don't damage my breast further? Is there anything that will hide the scar slightly so its not as pink and everything?

I know that is a lot of questions but any help would be gratefully appreciated.
EDIT: ok i am not talking about getting massive Gs or something but I am just wanting to get them evened out, so please no presuming that I want huge boobs. Also I AM WAITING UNTIL MY BOOBS HAVE STOPPED GROWING AT AROUND 18. So I am thinking this through properly. My mum has talked it over with me and said she will support me because she knows how badly I feel about my boobs.

  43. QUESTION:
Why do some people have problems with small breasts?
I don't get why some people are so obsessed with large breasts. Or why some women think their breasts aren't good enough, so they go get breast augmentation. My girlfriend has small breasts and I think they're wonderful. Maybe it's because I've generally been attracted to petite girls, but I just happen to find smaller breasts perfectly attractive. They don't need to be huge, small perky ones are great too.

So why do some people have problems with them?

I have no idea. I like bosoms of all sizes.

  44. QUESTION:
Hello, I had breast augmentation two weeks ago and they are so small. Will they get bigger?
Hello, I'm 19 and I had breast augmentation two weeks ago and my breasts are still so small. I was a very small A and I chose 400 cc of the memory gel implant for my surgery. I have looked at before and after pics os women who went from an A and had around 375-400 cc range of the memory gel implant also known as the gummy bear implant and I look nothing like the pictures. I spent 5k for a pair of boobs and I still don't have a nice pair. I'm very disappointed in the outcome. Could someone please tell me if the implant will become larger after awhile and will my breast will have a larger and fuller appereance. My plastic surgeon and his assistant said it takes a while for the breast to full and to become unswollen, but I do not feel good about this at all. Please if you hade breast augmentation and you felt as though your breasts were not big and you were disappointed at first, but as time went on they totally changed please tell me.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Sweetie,

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling disappointed after your breast augmentation.

Keep in mind that it's normal to feel that way right after surgery; you're still in recovery mode right now, and your boobs are still healing and not "set" yet. A LOT of breast augmentation patients feel upset right after surgery because it can be an emotional roller coaster ride..

For many women, it could take up to three or even six months for their breast augmentation to "settle" into their final size. It personally took mine two months to settle into their final look.

Right now, your chest muscles are all tight like a fist because of your surgery and they're riding up higher on your chest. Your boobs aren't going to look this way permanently. As the boobs heal, your muscles will relax, and women often see an increase in size as the muscle relaxes and "releases" the implant that is clenched into your chest right now. The boobs drop a bit into a more natural shape and position on your chest, and they become softer.

The size increase isn't gigantic, but it could be enough to change cup sizes. I have a girl friend who got a full cup size increase after three months!

So my advice is to relax, follow all of your recovery instructions exactly, and let your boobs do their thing. Stress isn't good for our bodies in general, but especially when we're trying to heal. So try to relax. You could very well end up loving them in three months when they're all settled!

Get them out asap if that's an option, and be your sweet self - those guys don't want you any good. They just want to profit 5K off of your insecurity every ten years. You shouldn't become dependent on them for the rest of your life.

Very small A is a beautiful size for a mature woman. And if you could be as powerful as a raccoon (who is ready to bite off its own foot if it got into a trap) then I for one would admire you for the rest of my life. It is sad with all those girls who think Dr. Plastic can bring them happiness, when he just wants their money, and don't care about them at all.

  46. QUESTION:
Should all women get breast augmentation?
Haha, sorry about that really retarded question, but I just saw this article and it kind of depressed me; also, I wanted your attention guys.

Anyways, if a girl is an AA, should she look into breast augmentation to a more-natural looking B? This is for myself, and I'm curious. Also, below I copied and pasted some more information, from another question I've asked. You can read that for more info about my case, if you'd like.

    -----

I understand that, yes, personality and confidence are the things that make women beautiful, but nobody can deny that physical attraction is often what first draws people. Please don't give me lectures on personality and such, because yes, I understand. That's what's most important. Also, I know; if a guy loves you, he'll love every part of you. Cool. No more preaching please, and just answer the question. Below is more information too, so maybe you can take it into account as you're answering.

My dad is both Mexican and Spanish, and I have a curvaceous and athletic hourglass body, from both my genes, and dance, tennis, and lacrosse. I'm five-six, size zero, and my measurements are 34-24-34. My hip to waist ratio is seventy percent (roughly), and my BMI is 19 (which is perfectly healthy for me, according to my doctor, because I'm pretty petite.) However, I can't fill an A-cup (my mom is Korean and Japanese, so I have a more Asian-sized chest), and this makes me look slightly out of proportion because my butt is extremely large due to my working out (my friends have compared me to Heidi Montag and Kim Kardashian.) If I were to get a breast augmentation, I'd go to a world-renowned Beverly Hills surgeon, and go up to a B-cup so I would still be smaller than average (average now is 36C in America), and I would be able to not have to shop online, and I'd be able to fit into clothing and such. I'd also look like a true hourglass and not like a pear. If I love my body, work hard on it, and just want to make myself look more natural, would it be wrong to get a small surgery with the sole purpose of looking normal?

Also guys, could you be attracted to a girl with such a small chest?

    • ANSWER:
No all women should not get breast augmentation! I think I've read just about everything on the entire internet about men's opinions of small breasts (I'm 34B, but was 32A until a few years ago), and trust me, there are plenty of men out there who PREFER small breasts.

You should check out the small breasts page on www.007b.com and look at the comments on the bottom of the page. The men who posted there are awesome!

  47. QUESTION:
When did large breast implants began as a popular trend?
Reviewing previous fashion aspects of dress styles preceding the adventurous years of the flappers era [circa 1920] and several years after, up to the counter cultures of 1960s. While breast implants have been in exercise primarily as an experimenting stage as early as 1895, applications for primary augmentation [or enlarging for cosmetic reasons] has never been documented in early fashion designs. Silicone implants were invented in 1961 but followed several years of criticism as well as the mechanics of its safety vulnerabilities.

It was previously known that pin-ups originated from magazines and other media articles have shifted from legs to breasts between 40s to late 50s, most of the visual illustrations were emphasized primarily on naturals rather than obstructively large sizes. It is largely believed that the fashion design of the brassiere as it emerged from utilitarian styles to other, more appealing forms. Whether the desire to have larger breasts to accommodate the features of brassieres is not currently known, but I speculate recent influences by the adult entertainment industry may have contributed to the desire for large breasts. As of yet I have been unable to allocate a definitive date or perhaps an era in which this phenomenon first appeared, any assistance on this matter would be much appreciated. :)

On the personal note, I often wonder of the latent hazards of having unusually large mammary glands, especially if the average body constraints are not proportioned to handle the resulting muscular stress...and perhaps probable spinal injuries of having an offset ctg over a sustained period of time. Upon research I became aware that current popular media in the adult entertainment industry often places emphasis on breasts and it has been one of many frequently searched queues. Upon finding conflicting interest from explicit media created before 1980 lead me to suggest that the cultural trend for this style may have originated only in the last 100 years or so.

    • ANSWER:
We first heard about it here about 1972 I believe. Some has been Hollywood lady had gotten it. The boys' reaction was "those Americans are crazy". Of course, already then there were many jokes about american old girls having face lifts and so on.

I think though that during the last ten years or so, it is gradually being considered less and less cool again. At least over here.

It really also is pretty sick. I mean my wife would have been number one on Dr. Plastic's death list with her quite-a-bit-smaller-than-A breasts. That would have been a tragedy.

  48. QUESTION:
what are the risks of breast implants?
Does anybody know what are the major risks of breast augmentation? I've been told that they harden over time, is this true? I'm thinking of getting them done and would like to know what i'm up against. Also, i know there's a large market of pills that increase cup size, does anybody know which pills actually works? I would hate to spend money on placebo. Thanks in advance!

    • ANSWER:
Herbs sometimes work, depending on the person. The pills are made up of these herbs but cost way more and have a little of each one. You have to find out which one is right for you though and do a lot of research. For example, thin lips and broad shoulders could mean you have high testosterone levels or low estrogen levels which inhibit breast tissue growth so you would take the herb fenugreek to up your estrogen levels...etc.

Herbs will take a long time and won't cause a dramatic size increase. If you want to gain more than a cup I would recommend the implants. I've had implants for a year and haven't felt them harden at all. If you're worried about them getting hard, you should opt for silicone since it is softer and more natural feeling than saline (although the health risks are higher).

Hope this helps, here's a forum on herbs:

  50. QUESTION:
Random poll: How do you feel about breast augmentation?
I don't know, I've thought about it for a few years and I figure that, after I'm out of college at 22, if my barely AA-cups don't grow, I might get small implants to go to a large A-cup or a small B, while trying to look as natural as possible (I'd go to a renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon.) Other than my breasts, which sometimes bother me, I think I'm gorgeous and love my body, and I'd just want breasts better fitted to my more curvy frame (I'm an hourglass, based off measurements, but sometimes my chest makes me look like a pear.)

Anyways, I'm curious. What is your stance on breast augmentation?

    • ANSWER:
I think it is stupid. I used to be real small like you but I went to a C cup when I got older. Many skinny and young adults are small like that. Give it a few years. No one likes fake boobs.
