Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
    Breast reduction prices?
i'm 15 and i'm considering having a breast reduction in the future and i was just wondering what the prices are like in the UK....
does anybody know what an average price is?
    I'm a 34G at the moment.

    • ANSWER:
Think carefully about it before you go ahead. What size are you? Too small would be awful, but there are probably millions of girls who would kill to have your breasts. Love your body.

      My body, my temple.

34G is fine. Think of all the annorexics that need a quick fix get fat quick. They'd kill to have your body. Let's face it, I'd kill to have your body. Keep them as they are, make the most of them! And if you do ever feel really bad about them, it's cheaper to buy a minimiser bra. They are sold quite cheaply and you can get them from any good clothes store. They also look good. For sports, wear a sports bra to minimise any pain. Treasure your body while you still can.

      Good luck for the future!

  2. QUESTION:
Breast reduction prices in Illinois... no insurance?!?!?!?
im 20 yrs old and since i was 10 i have had extremely large breasts... i stand 5'5'' with a 36H bust... i have so many back pains and i need these things GONE OFF OF MY CHEST!!! i have no insurance though... and all the doctors i have called wont see me (for lack of insurance)!! can anyone help me... i need some prices... Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
Hmm. I would suggest that if you did have a primary doctor to ask him if he would find it medically necesary to get a reduction.

But due to lack of Illinois funding, everyone gets left out on insurance policies. (I'm 20 living in IL also, and I have no insurance and I've been dealing with ingrown wisdom teeth for a year now, effing sucks!)

I would suggest getting the state provided insurance, (medicade) and try seeing a doctor to see if he could suggest anything.

But here's a brighter side. Before blago-bitc*h was kicked out he did pass a bill saying Children under the ages of 26 will be allowed to be on their parents insurance policies and to be covered as long as the parents approve. This will go in effect Jan. 1st 2010. So worst comes to worst, you can wait until then to be put on your parents insurance, and then hopefully you can take care of this.

=/ sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I know all surgeons prices vary, but does anyone know the average price for a breast reduction? Does the rate vary based on the amount you need reduced? I am a 34DD and would like to go down to a small C or average B.

    • ANSWER:
      Depends on location and doctor.

Mine was ,000 and covered 100% by insurance.

It does not matter (I think) on how much you need it reduced.

Insurance will cover a breast reduction if you complain about back pain and any other health issues.

I had it done Feb 2006 and do not regret it one bit.

in London ? If so were you pleased with the results and Could anyone tell me the price of breast reduction surgery at the harley street ?

    • ANSWER:
I had mine done some years ago at a North London training hospital for plastic surgeons. It was done by Mr Olle Asplund and his trainee, I was very pleased with it.
If you look for Mr Dai Davies, or Mr Percival they are both still running this hospital. It is a teaching hospital so it will cost you less, they all work in Harley Street when not training others. hope this helps as they will give you all the info you need.
My friend recently went there to have a face lift and she was also very`pleased.

  8. QUESTION:
Does anyone know the average price of a breast reduction?
Also, is it true that they put silicone inside to keep shape?!
Has anyone experienced one or know someone who has?

    • ANSWER:
The price depends on your surgeon. Mine was 00, not including hospital costs. Of course, I was covered by insurance. But your insurance will probably cover yours too.

As for silicone, that seems very unlikely. With the reduction, they basically get rid of the excess fat and skin, so they create the shape with your natural breast.

I really recommend the surgery. It was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. The results were breathtaking. The surgery was easy and almost painless. Ask your insurance about covering you. Or look for a surgeon in your area and get a consultation.

Because I'm not comfortable with my body.
I wear mostly boys clothes, and have short hair.
I feel having smaller breast/no breasts will make me feel more comfortable with myself.

      Why???

Okay, well best of luck then. Lets hope it's not something you'll later regret.

Many insurances will not cover it for cosmetic reasons, but if it causing back problems, they will. Will cost them more in the long run to cover your back issues then to cover the reduction. Look into that.

I've been thinking of breast reduction cosmetic surgery. The problem is,it's damn expensive. Suggestions?
This sort of surgery is damn expensive in the U.K. I've visited a couple of the popular cosmetic surgery websites and the prices are unbelievable and although they all offer finance,I would prefer to not get myself into debt but I also feel that I need to do this for my comfort and self esteem. Suggestions?

  24. QUESTION:
How much would a breast reduction cost if...?
I recently lost almost 100lbs but my breasts are still really big, my entire family of women have large breasts and now my body doesn't match my breasts. I wear a size 46DD and am looking to be able to wear a 34 C. I have a hard time fitting in clothes and they are just really too big to handle (exercise and what not) I am thinking of getting a breast reduction and I'm really not finding much information on pricing. I know prices vary according to different surgeons and doctors but just wondering if anyone has had it done and wouldn't mind telling me how much it was. Just so I can have some type of information before I really get serious about it.

    • ANSWER:
You will need to call specific doctors in your area to find out about pricing. The cost will vary greatly, and sometimes insurance will cover all or part of the surgery. Some of the variation depends on the type of reduction you have too, and how much reconstruction is done, and whether you want to keep nipple sensitivity or the ability to breastfeed in the future or not. At the very least, it's probably going to cost 00. Probably a lot more though, especially if the doctor is skilled.

I think you may not understand how breast sizing works, either. You can get breast reduction from a 46DD to a 46B or 46C, but not from 46DD to 34DD. The number is the band size, and indicates the size of your ribcage. The cup size is the size of your breast. Liposuction on your back and rib fat may reduce the band size, but that would be a separate procedure.

You may want to consider making peace with your breasts. Your breasts are normal and healthy. Below is a link to a gallery of normal breasts in a non-sexual context. It's worth looking at, even if you decide you still want to alter yours.

      Good luck.

  25. QUESTION:
which is first? breast reduction, a psychiatrist or living as a male for one year?
I'm a little confused on what comes first. I know you need letters to get an approval saying you're ready for a surgery from FTM in some recommendations. Also, I live in USA Oregon, anyone know the closest and best place to get the breast reduction surgery as well as a price range to prepare for to get it?

P.S. I've felt and acted more like a guy since child hood, I've always been a tom-boy but in my pre-teens the pressure to be more of a stereotypical girl pushed me to hide it deep within myself. I'm 19 now and have recently re-awakened the desire to be more associated with a guy's gender. It has always nagged at me but I never had the courage to show this stuff till now.
    Thanks.
    Tarin
Also, is there an age limit for self approval for a psychiatrist and surgery? Or would i still have to get a parental signature? I read on one page that it does require a parental signature if under the age of 20. You'd think by the age of 18 or 19 you'd be able to take care of yourself and make reasonable decisions that you're sure of with out your parents hovering over you anymore. -_-

My folks don't know. They didn't even seem to notice the binding job today. I'm a B size.
But the step parent did ask about my sudden hair cut. XD I explained it as two things, One- I'd never gone above my jaw length before. I wanted to try something new.

(Half true. I really just wanted to look more male which worked wonders XD. Now instead of looking like a 15 or 16 year old girl, I look like a 14 year old boy. XD haha!)

    And...
Two- I was wanting to see if it looked good on me, and it did. Thank goodness! XD
Also, I heard something about a shot to stop estrogen to be able to grow more. Could anyone clarify and explain that stuff?

    • ANSWER:

  27. QUESTION:
    Herbal Breast Reduction Pills?
I've been looking into non-surgical ways to reduce my breast size, as I have a very tiny waist and DDs. I'm only 17, too! So online I found herbal breast reduction pills. I was wondering if any of you had ever tried these, and do they really work? Also, what major side effects did you notice? Are they safe?

I live in Canada, so does anyone know the price of these in Canada? I assume they are not prescription pills, as if they were, I'd get them for free.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Paige,

Save your money - there is NO chance they will work. Breasts are basically just fat, and there is no pill on earth that can differentiate breast fat from any other fat because quite simply there IS no difference. There's also no pill that effectively reduces fat generally, or half the world would be eating them with their hamburgers. Seriously - forget pills.

Realistically the only way you may possibly be able to reduce your breasts is to lose fat generally, and the best way to do that is through a sensible healthy diet and cardio exercise. Easily the best exercise is running, and it has the added bonus of being free. So - if you're determined to do something, run - if not, then just enjoy the fact that you have naturally a figure which a large part of the population, male and female, would consider perfect! :)

  28. QUESTION:
    Breast Reduction Questions?
I am asking women that have had a breast reduction. I am a 21 year old female. I stand at just over 5'3 and I have 36H breasts. For some time now I have been considering having a reduction as not only do men constantly stare at my breasts, I find it very hard to find clothes that fit me properly. I have to buy size 18 clothes when I'm a size 14 and it's so hard to find nice bras at a reasonable price. I have considered having a reduction but then I think about all the women that have paid to have big boobs. The downside is that it's hard for me to do things that most people do. I have trouble doing sports and even had to give up a job doing what I enjoyed because it was causing me back pain.

I just wanted to see what people thought about my situation and if you are someone who has had a reduction, I would like to know about your experience and how you feel now.

    • ANSWER:
One of my friends had a lot of problems with breastfeeding as a result of her reduction, I do know that much. The scarring was pretty bad too, I'm told. I have also heard that it can also cause nerve damage to the breast, so if you like nipple stimulation, you should be aware that there is a risk of losing all sensation there.

  29. QUESTION:
    breast reduction - surgeon question!!!!?
    Hi everyone!!!
I'm a 30 year old woman with no health problems and i finally decided to get a breast reduction at a Hospital.
Canadian health care is paying for this procedure
I only went in to get info on reduction but the surgeon told me it will look better and that he can do liposuction on my flanks for 00 cash not to tell anyone because he was giving me a deal...supposedly the hospital he works at ( and will do my surgery there too) doesn't do cosmetic but he will do it for me and since i am already under anesthesia it's cheaper for me..his secretary old me bring an envelope of cash the day of surgery and i will get a receipt..I'm not sure if this is a good idea.

I called another surgeon for price quote for lipo on flanks and was told 00- 00...seems really weird such a difference in price.

I 'm not sure if i will do my surgery with this surgeon. BTW he is a really young plastic surgeon i would give him 35 years old max.

Am i really getting a deal or a potentially dangerous surgeon?
    Is this situation normal?
    What should i do?

    • ANSWER:
That really sounds dangerous - why should a surgeon do that? He could ruin his career for a few extra bucks? Find another hospital or surgeon for this procedure. You don't want to end up on TV - showing your botched boob job.

  30. QUESTION:
Breast reduction for under 16 year old?
Hello, I am 15 and I am thinking of having a breast reduction. I am 5'3, normal weight and I have size 36 FF breasts. I am sick of them. They have put emotional strain on me and physical. I can't stand to look at myself anymore. They give me neck and back ache. I can't find a reasonable priced bra's that fit me. I feel out of breath when I lay down, I cant lye on my tummy. They draw attention that I HATE. It makes me feel discuisting. I can't live with them anymore.

    • ANSWER:
I had two breast reductions when I was 19 (I'm now 28) and it was the best thing I ever did. I was exactly the same as you - Neck and back pain, no bras to fit not to mention disgusting old men making comments about them. Urrgghhh.

Most doctors won't do breast reductions until you are 18. If this is the case, hang in there honey. Good luck!

  31. QUESTION:
Will my parents' insurance cover breast reduction surgery?
I'm 18 years old and 120 pounds but my breasts are size D. I get indentations on my shoulders from my bra straps and my back hurts when I stand for long periods of time. My breast size makes me SO insecure. I hate wearing swimsuits around all my friends because they're all size B. I hate buying clothes to fit my breasts and not my waist. I can never buy bikinis I like because I try to avoid the cleavage line and make my breasts appear smaller than they are. I even avoid low shirts because I think the cleavage line looks skanky. I own one regular bra from Victoria's Secret, but I never wear it because I always wear sports bras. They make my breasts look smaller. I used to love Victoria's Secret when I was 16 and even 17, but now I avoid it because I can never find bras that fit appropriately. More than anything, I hate that when I talk to people, they look down at my chest all the time. I just hate my breasts and would kill to have reduction surgery. The only thing holding me back from following through with this surgery is the price. Will insurance cover the costs?? I reeeally need help.

    • ANSWER:
Yes, this can be covered when considered medically necessary. You need to contact your insurance company and ask them for details of what is covered. They probably require a Pre-Determination.
You will have to go see a surgeon and probably have medical records sent in along with photos (the surgeon/doctor will assist you with all of this and send it in for you).
You will have to show significant symptoms based on your insurance company's policies. They are not looking for insecurities that you may have or appearance issues as these are classified as cosmetic. It has to be based on it impacting your daily living activities (back pain, significant shoulder grooving, breast hypertrophy etc). They may also require physical therapy, verification of proper support bra (all documented in medical records) etc.
Keep in mind when doing the Pre-Determination that ALL information they require needs to be sent in, as they can deny for missing information. It may take time as your just starting the process, but it is possible!
      Good Luck

  32. QUESTION:
Breast reduction, good idea or bad?
I'm 19, 5'0, 110 pounds, and a 36 D. I know it doesn't sound very big but when your petite they REALLY stand out. I work out a lot and am a very active person but I just can't seem to lose boob poundage. It's quite annoying I have to wear two sports bras to keep them in place when I do anything but walk like a barbie, my back hurts all the time and it's a nightmare to find bras that fit. I've been thinking about getting a breast reduction to a B. So far I'm terrified because all I've read is horror stories and the price range of 5k-8k seems outrageous. I just want to know if there are any women out there who've gone through it, what it cost them, if insurance helps with the costs, etc.
First of all, I don't have the ability to have children so no breast feeding for me
and second of all: Why the f are so many guys commenting? You have no idea what it's like. And my life is not lived through pleasing men.

    • ANSWER:
Sorry - bad. Very bad in fact.

Look - you're only a little above average, and breast reduction is very serious surgery with potentially serious side effects - inability to breast feed, loss of sensation, a far from guaranteed shape, an artificial look... oh yes, and it's very expensive.

There is absolutely no reason why your size should be causing you major phyisical problems - maybe you're wearing the wrong size bra, maybe you're wearing it too much and so putting pressure on your shoulders and upper back, or maybe your posture is poor because you try to 'hide' them. Whatever the case, you don't NEED surgery, and the person suggesting it will quickly and easily fix your problems is just barking mad, sorry.

The fact is, larger breasts can be a bit of a pain at times, but they're also pretty fab at other times and you have a figure that many - male and female - would consider perfection. I strongly encourage you to try to focus more on the positives and learn to love your curves just the way they are - no girl is completely happy with their body, but the answer is not surgery. :)

  33. QUESTION:
what are the chances of me getting a breast reduction on the NHS?
I am 19, 5ft 3" and a 34F. As I am short anyway my body is very out of proportion and i've felt self conscious about it since they started growing when I was 12. It affects me pshchologically more than physically, I can barely talk about it without bursting into tears. The only physical problems i have is that my bra digs into my stomach when sitting down and i have sores on my shoulders from bra straps but I really really want to have a breast reduction. My mum says I should go and talk to the doctor but I dont think they will take it seriously.

    Can anyone shed any light?

Also i am worried about not beeing able to breast feed later in life but if there is no way to prevent this then it'll have to be a small price to pay. Does anyone know the odds of not being able to breast feed? And if they get big again when I become pregnant (obviously thinking way into the future!) will the weight stay there?

    Thanks
    Edit: Went and got measured at M&S yesterday and I'm actually a 34G!! :( i'm 5ft 3" and weight 9st

    • ANSWER:
As breast reduction is not vital to your health, it is known as cosmetic surgery. To qualify for cosmetic surgery you must meet specific criteria as set out by your Primary Care Trust (PCT). To receive cosmetic surgery from the NHS, you will normally need a referral from your GP, a consultation with a plastic surgeon, and an assessment by a psychiatrist or psychologist. It will then be decided if there is enough social, psychological or physical benefit to justify surgery.

There is some evidence that a breast reduction may decrease the chances of developing breast cancer. Research into breast reduction and breast cancer is still ongoing.

  34. QUESTION:
Should I get breast reduction surgery? Urgent! Help!?
Please! Help me! I am 19 years old and live in Canada. I am seriously considering getting breast reduction surgery because I really need it. Really bad. I'm just terrified I won't be able to get it because I'm currently without a job (though I am looking hard). My size is (no joke) 42G. I suffer from shoulder pain and back pain all the time. I'm constantly hunched over to a point, and it makes getting shirts (not to mention buying expensive 0+ priced bras). Its making me miserable. Can anyone give me advice on what to do? I need some real help. I want to know as well if there is any way I could get this procedure done for cheap. I really don't have any funds or insurance.

    • ANSWER:
      Hey,

You may not like this but hey... someone has to say it and I have the Atlantic in the way so I feel safe... ;)

With a 42 band size, you're either quite a bit overweight, or you're wearing very much the wrong size bra. Whichever it is, that's what you need to address. Breast reduction is very serious surgery and should be a last resort - it's also impossible to do it 'on the cheap' so I would suggest you forget that for now. Instead, work out which of the two problems above is true, and sort that out. If you're overweight, diet and exercise will make you feel a hundred times better about yourself and will also reduce the size of your breasts naturally, given that they're basically just fat. If you wear the wrong size bra you're bound to be uncomfortable - you'd probably be more comfortable without one at all than with a badly fitted one - so again, that's an easy fix.

Once you're down to your optimum weight and wearing the right size bra, if you still feel you need a reduction, start saving your pennies and speak to a reputable surgeon. However long before then, make sure you fix the obvious problem(s).

  35. QUESTION:
How much would a breast augmentation cost. Not implants, just reduction and evening out.?
    Any ideas?
When I was 13, I noticed a size difference, and as I matured, the difference got more noticeable. I am around a DD or E in bra size, but I only really fill one cup.
Anyone know a price range to help fix this?
A small difference is common, not two cup sizes. Thats my biggest issue with it. The only reason I want it fixed. If it was smaller, I wouldn't care.

    • ANSWER:
The national 2007 average cost for breast reduction was about 00. Given its now about 2 years later, with inflation, you could expect to pay as much as 00 more, depending on location, surgical facility, surgical technique and the patient-demand for a given surgeon. From what I've heard, uneven breast size is somewhat normal, to a certain extent, but if you don't feel "comfortable in your own skin", so to speak, it seems like a justifiable reason to have the procedure done. I do know that most breast reduction procedures are covered by medical insurance, when done to alleviate another health concern such as posture issues and back pain. Under other circumstances, most surgeons and practices have financing options available. Consult as many doctors as possible in your area, ask as many questions as you feel necessary before proceeding and don't settle for a surgeon or facility that makes you feel uneasy about having the procedure done. I've had corrective surgery before too (for something different, obviously...I am a guy after all, lol), so I kinda know how you feel. Best of luck to you.

  36. QUESTION:
Should I get breast reduction surgery?
My bra size SHOULD be either a 32C or a 32D (usually C's cause spillage and D's are a little roomy), but since there sizes aren't usually made, I either have to alter my bras myself with a sewing machine, pay outrageous prices for a custom-fit bra, or just settle for the wrong size. I can't wear many clothing styles, and they hurt when I run, as well as cause some minor back pain. I've recently put on a few pounds, but even then they were bigger than I wanted (32C).

I really want them gone. Or, well, smaller. But I hear a lot of horror stories when it comes to reductions, and I also hear that I couldn't breastfeed if I do this. What are some pros and cons on the issue?
I used to be a runner. Like I said, they were big even when I ran every day. It's not fat, it's beast tissue.

    • ANSWER:
      so, i was a 32F and now i'm a 32C/D and i'm thrilled.
you don't need a reduction, you need to go to a store that will measure you and fit you for a bra.

  39. QUESTION:
    price of breast reductions?
Does anyone have any idea about how much they run?
I have DDD's and they are huge, even when losing weight they don't seem to get any smaller. It's awful trying to find bras to fit.
Plus I have no insurance.... So I'd be paying for it on my own.

    • ANSWER:
According to the National Clearinghouse of Plastic Surgery Statistics' 1999 Plastic Surgery Procedural Statistics survey, the average surgeons' fee for breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) was approximately ,600. Please note that 1999 is the last year in which the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) released a survey of reconstructive surgery fees. Year 2002 information from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) shows that the 1999 Clearinghouse Statistics information is still reliable.

In preparing the breast reduction prices and costs section of my website, I conducted an informal, small-sample survey of breast reduction costs in order to determine if the information from the 1999 survey was still relevant in 2003. The good news is that the plastic surgeon's fee for breast reduction has held fairly steady, with only a modest increase since the last price/cost statistics were released. The quoted range for breast reduction surgeon's fees in my survey ranged from ,500 to ,000.

The cost of breast reduction surgery varies by region, with higher than average fees found in the mid-Atlantic states, Texas and New York. Lower than average fees were generally found in the New England states, the Central and Mountain states.

Please note that the surgeon's fee does not generally include the cost of anesthesia, certain prescription medications, operating room, hospital or surgery center fees. This cost and pricing information should be used for general guidance only. You may find that there is a variance in costs, even within a given city, especially when the difference in all costs is factored in to the total price of the breast reduction surgery.

  42. QUESTION:
Size required for breast reduction to be covered by insurance?
I've heard that if your breasts are large and causing trouble with your back you can get it covered with insurance and the cost will be reduced.
    I'm only a DD, but i'm very small [only 16 years old, and i'm a size 10].
I know I have to wait until i'm over 18 and everything, but they're already starting to cause problems and I can't stand it, so I wanted to start saving now...
If I could somehow reduce the price I think i'd cry tears of joy...
So yeah, even though my breasts are big but not too big, considering my size, do you think I have a potential case?

    • ANSWER:
No one here can tell you.

You will have to consult with your dr and your health insurance company.

If the health insurance company pays for a reduction - they will require a specific amount of material to be removed.

  43. QUESTION:
How old do I need to be for breast reduction surgery?
I'm 15 years old, 5'2, 115 pounds and my boobs are D's (although I won't admit it to anyone else.) My back is constantly hurting as it is right now. I'm fed up. Everyone teases me about my boobs and I think it's the only thing people ever notice. I want to drop them down to a small B, I can't stand the sex appeal, pain, or ridiculing from other kids any longer. My boobs are extremely disproportionate people I'm so short and skinny compared to the size of them.

So my question is, should I talk to my doctor? How old do I need to be to consider or have this surgery, and what's the general price range? I can't take it any longer.

    • ANSWER:
no..it's not. It's a more invasive surgery, but after recovering you will be thankful you did it!! Being large chested can effect your posture, your walking, self esteem...many people don't realize that for some of us...they are a burden. Find a plastic surgeon in your area that does complimentary consults (most do) and explore options.

  45. QUESTION:
I have constant back pain and need suggestions on bra brands that are the most comfortable .?
I have Fibromyalgia and my back hurts daily especially in the mid back where my bra stap lies. If I could avoid it all together I would but being a 38C cup size, it is not an option while in public. I am constantly aware of pain but after wearing bras for a few hours, I am in misery. Can any of you reccomend the best choices including brands, prices and locations of where to find them. Breast reduction is not currently an option financially and I don't know if it would help with the mid back pain anyways as other areas of my body are affected as well.

    • ANSWER:
I would not recommend wearing a larger bra size, because then your breasts will be less supported and that might make the pain worse.

First of all, make sure your bra fits. Here's my bra fitting page: http://www.belladonnaeyes.co.uk/bra_fitting_part_01.htm

That should eliminate any problems resulting from your bra not fitting. Then you need to find some comfortable bras, maybe soft cup. I suggest looking at http://www.figleaves.com
They will be able to help you with your particular situation.

    Help xxx

    • ANSWER:
You're too young for a breast operation. But I highly recommend breast reduction when you get older. Not for the look of your breasts but for your health. It's a fact that such huge breasts like yours cause back pain. I don't even wanna imagine the trouble you experience when you go out :)

Don't worry though, if you decide to have a breast reduction, it's a very easy operation. A lot easier and painless than breast augmentation.

  48. QUESTION:
Should I get my non-cancerous breast lump removed?
I had a very necessary breast reduction surgery done last July, which insurance covered most of. As is standard procedure, they did a cancer biopsy which didn't show any signs of cancer. Plus I'm in my 20's, so breast cancer is out of the question given all that. However, a couple months later I felt a small lump in one of my breasts. To this day it has not gone away, and the surgeon wants to just go ahead and remove it. It's probably some sort of cyst, or scar or fat tissue build up. It doesn't hurt or bother me, it's just there. Since I've already paid all my out-of-pocket insurance expenses for the year, if I do the procedure before 2011 the entire cost will be covered by my insurance. If I don't, I will not be able to afford to spend 00 on a lump that isn't causing me any pain, so it's now or never (at least not until this starts causing pain, if ever). So how viable would it be to ignore this thing? I'm scheduled for surgery this Friday, but I am having second thoughts. Can anyone offer me advice as to whether I should go through with the surgery? It's not nearly as intense a procedure as the reduction was, but I wonder if it may cause more harm than good. Is it possible that this surgery might cause a need for more surgery (which I can't afford)? I'd really rather not do it, but I am looking for advice from a medical viewpoint as to whether this could be a problem for me down the road, or someone with a similar experience, as opposed to people telling me about factors I already know about like the price or considering my personal feelings. Thanks
Thank you all so much! You all really helped me out a lot, especially the 1st 2 answers. I went and got it removed and it was so much easier knowing that this could have caused me to have cancer.

    • ANSWER:
I had a family member in your EXACT same boat (non-cancerous cyst after reduction) and her doctor had her remove it. The problem with benign cysts is that they are still irregular tissue in your body even if they aren't cancerous, but they CAN turn into cancer in the future. If you can sneak in before the end of the year, just get it out. You don't want to put yourself at higher risk in the future, and even benign tumors grow.

  49. QUESTION:
I really need a good minimizing bra, please help!?
I am a full figured girl, with about a 38DDD bust. It makes me look alot heavier than I really am, and I am really irritated by that. I am actually looking into getting a breast reduction, but until then I would really like to find a good minimizer. Something that has good support as well. Price is not an issue for this, so please give me the best!! I would prefer suggestions from experience!

  50. QUESTION:
I am 19 and think I need a breast lift?
Its kind of embarrassing because I don't want to seem like Pamela Anderson or one of those stupid girls who get plastic surgery every single year.

I have never had any type of surgery. My breasts sag though. To the point where I cannot see my nipples.
the top of the breast has little volume and sags...and then the nipple is close to the belly button when I sit. (its that bad)

I only want a lift..that's it. no reduction or augmentation.

Any advice? I visited the sites for prices but they purposely don't state. they just say "this stuff will cost extra."...idiots.
they sag naturally...never had a baby.
