7. QUESTION:
   Recently had a mammogram and the clinic called today, wants more pictures of one breast. Should I be worried?
   41 years old, first mammogram, no history of breast cancer in family although several women have had benign cysts. Do have some risk factors like being overweight (which I'm currently losing having recently lost over 60lbs. I've had 4 kids. Anyway, freaked out by the request for more pictures even though it's probably routine? Right? Could be?

   • ANSWER:
     Many women are called back after their mammogram appointment for extra views. Sometimes, it is because the breast tissue is dense (which looks white on the film) and we need to do compression views to see through that tissue. At 41 years old, you probably still have quite a bit of dense breast tissue, so that would make sense. The majority of these extra views prove that the breast tissue is normal and there is no follow up. When you have your baseline mammogram, there is not a previous exam to compare to, so the radiologists would rather err on the side of caution and ask for more images.
     On top of that, there could have been a scratch on the film from the developing process or even a finger print on the film from the person who developed the images. So, no need to freak out yet!

   Or is she having special push-up bras, where what you see is really all there is. Your mind automatically assume that the bra also contains some part of the breast. I know she is a thick woman and has naturally big breasts but her breasts are HUGE in those pictures

     No, it is just a push-up bra. many of them are built into her dresses and costumes, and therefore no need to wear a bra with her dress.
     ..To the person above, she has not had breast implants at all and the reason why she was flat-chested in "no no no" is because she was only 15 at the time and still growing.

    Why do pictures (not porn) show the breast and everything else, but, blur out the nipple?
    I never could understand this. These celebrity pictures on TV show everything, why do they block out the nipples?

    • ANSWER:
      We censor nipples because the nipples are the part of the breast we associate most specifically with sex. After all, you can see the form of a breast through a woman's clothes all the time, but most will only see a strange woman's nipples during sex. Also, the nipple is the most sensitive part and a common part of sex play in our culture.

      This gives nipples the value of a "sexual asset" which women are expected to protect in public. Consider how you would feel if a strange person saw your genitals (perhaps if you were drunkenly peeing in a parking lot). Why should you care about whether they saw? That is why women care about nipple slips.

      I think this is why we give boobed but nipple-less Barbie dolls to little girls, but do not want them to see strip shows: what we are protecting them from is not the parts themselves, but what the exposure of the parts symbolizes. It is exactly like we try to protect children from curse words: it's not the sound, it's what it means to us. Of course, the meanings of parts changes over time, which is why showing some ankle isn't considered racy any more.

      My daughter had breast ogmentation and it was horrible. She now has the bleeding of the brown area all to her breast. They are hanging and no recourse. But here is a link to look at.

      I had breast cancer... over a website is not how you want to deal with this! You need to see another doctor, and get a second opinion, if you're not confortable with the first results. A biopsy is an option, although slightly invasive. Good luck!

      There is definitely a cyst, but it could just be liquid-fulled.

    A Question For Women Who Put Breast Feeding Pictures Online?
    Firstly, I think breast feeding is a beautiful and natural thing and have been lucky myself for the past 5 months to be able to do this. I do try to show discretion in public not to offend people from different cultures etc.

    Now to my question... I spoke to two women in my mother's group who wanted to breast feed but were unable to, so they have not been blessed to experience what we have experienced with our children. As I am aware of their situation, I try to be sensitive, I do not just get my breast out and feed in front of them, I do not talk to much about breast feeding and that I enjoy it- cause I know both of them are quite upset they were unable to breast feed. I know that they would both find it quite upsetting to see pictures of someone breastfeeding on the internet as they see everyone breast feeding and think it is something wrong with them! They feel like they can not escape it! So just say it was them not Seth or anyone else saying they did not like your profile picture, would you consider changing for women like these, just to be a little more sensitive if they did find it of a constant reminder of what they can not do????
    I am sorry if I have offended anyone. My point is, if someone has what I believe is a justified reason to find it hard to see a picture of you breastfeeding your child would you remove it? Some people would not mind, I am sure, but some do and if they came to you and asked you if you would remove it- it sounds like you wouldn't.,

    I just think there is a lack of sensitivity EVERYWHERE for those who are not fortunate to breastfeed. Now in hospitals now you need to sign a form before you are released to confirm you tried to breastfeed. I think this would be so hard for women who are genuinly trying to do it and can not- I just think, no one should be ashamed of what they are lucky to have. I have a nice car, beautiful husband and daughter, a house etc but IF one of my single friends were hurt by me talking about my wonderful life all the time I would stop... it is empathy.....obviously you do not agree...

I think it is extremley rude of you when I have always been tactful- As you seem to spell mum- "mom" I would presume you are in America- I am in Australia on the Northern Beaches and it is now regulation at Mona Vale Hospital that people have to sign a form now stating that they tried to breast feed.       I agree with you - a little tact and sensitivity never hurt anyone. Now I understand that women shouldn't be upset that they failed, logically, but yet again I will remind everyone of this fact;
      POST-NATAL DEPRESSION AFFECTS 10-15% OF MOTHERS.
      That's a lot. Many of these women have failed to breastfeed for whatever reason - latch issues, poor education on the subject, lack of support, medications, failure to supply enough etc etc. I was diagnosed with PND within a month of stopping breastfeeding because I was 'grieving for breastfeeding'. I'm ok with it now, but at the time, I would have been very upset to see the pictures. Now, I could happily continue a conversation with a nursing friend, I never looked twice at someone nursing in public, it wouldn't upset me then as I knew their baby was hungry, but to see some on here flaunting it to make a point, that would have got me for sure. Now I do understand the point, I do believe that most are doing it because they think they're helping, but honestly, I don't think it is. I also think that a few (not many) are doing it to flaunt their superiority. There is no need to define yourself as a breastfeeder to anyone, there is no need to encourage 'acceptance' of what you're doing unless you feel you need such acceptance.

      Society has taught girls that they must do this to get attention from men. And you want attention from men if you ever want to get married and so on. Learned cultural behavior.

    This has been a huge debate on here as of the last week or so, so I was wondering what your Significant others think of your exposed breast being posted for all to see. I see nothing wrong with this, quite frankly I think it's natural and beautiful but when I posed the question to my hubby today... his words were "Absolutely not, not because it's not natural but because I don't need some perv or troll looking at my wifes breast or my son feeding from them.''       I would be showing more breast in a picture where I'm wearing a low-cut top. So what if a "perv" looks at my picture? What are they going to do with it? They can't track me down with just a picture. They aren't hurting me. If they're smart, they'll just google it or look it up on youtube. There are much more revealing pics there.

      I think it's disgusting to ban it. I don't know why people can not get over the fact that boobs are MADE to feed babies. There is no reason to have to be discreet about it. It's what they were designed for, it's what they produce milk for. It's a disgusting attitude towards public breastfeeding, where a woman has to hide herself. I don't understand the mentality. It's what they make them for and there is no reason to hide.

      Going to the bathroom is private, having sex is private, EATING is not private.

    my wife is thinking about getting breast enlargement from a 34a to a 34b i am looking for pictures to compare?

    she is 5 foot 3 105 lbs and the only reason she wants to get them is because her right breast is a 34 a and her left is almost completely flat i asked her to get a small c but she only wants a full b because of back problems

      I looked online and I couldnt even find a picture of an augmentation that small. Usually people go from an A cup to a C or D. It is enough money to get them done, why would you pay for them if you are only going up one cup size? It is not that big of a difference, your wife may be upset that she went through a surgury and did not get noticable results. I would suggest her not get anything done because she does not want enough of a change, not to mention that if she has A's naturally, then getting a C or D usually would look fake and not good on that small of a frame. I think that they usually look fake, and there are alot of people who feel embarrassed after and have them removed.

      I do have one of my current boobs... they are a DD but heck I threw all of the old ones away... You can go to surgeon websites and see the before and after. You can contact me if you want to see a current pic, but I had a C before and don't have any of those "sad" pics anymore.

      There isn't one that'll do this automatically, but if you're good in Photoshop or GIMP, then you can do this, yourself.

      Well.. the only reason I would get a breast reduction is if it was hurting me. I as well have a pair of dd's and I have since I was about 15. They do give me alot of trouble with my back but not enough to have a reduction. Big boobs run in the fam. so alot of my family have had breast reductions but only when they got older because it gave them severe back issues. Never change yourselves to make others happy beside they are just jealous. So I would sau don't do it unless YOU are unhappy with them or they are causing you pain.

      If you get breast implants, you will likely regret it later in life. First of all, even though they are much safer now than twenty years ago, they can still leak and cause massive health issues, not to mention sepsis in the bloodstream. Also, implants will add additional weight to your torso, which may not seem like much, but the strain of having the additional top-heavy weight will eventually cause you to be at increased risk for chronic back pain. Your intervertebral discs will also be at increased risk for herniation. Based on your pictures, you are a beautiful woman about to make a very bad decision. I would urge you to take the advice of your family and friends, and not go through with plastic surgery.

      Check out www.komen.org/bse. It's part of the Susan G. Komen website. There's tons of information there and videos to guide you through a self exam as well. They also tell you what to look for.

    How can I add breast to a picture on Microsoft Paint?
    I'm trying to turn Marik Ishtar from Yu-Gi-Oh into a girl. The only thing I have that I can use is Microsoft Paint and I can't figure out how to use it to add breasts to the picture. I know it sounds weird, but I've always thought of Marik as a girl.

      Find a breast picture or cartoon pic online and save it. Then open it in paint and cut and paste the breast.

      Alternatively, you can copy anything on the screen to your clipboard by pressing PrintScreen button. Then you can paste your whole monitor into paint and cut and paste that way.

    Can someone give me pictures of various breast sizes?
    I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm wearing a 32 C bra right now, and it fits perfectly as far as I can see - it's not loose or "half-filled" or anything. But for some reason when I picture a C cup, I picture very large breasts, and I don't think my breasts are very large at all.

    Sometimes I can also fit into a 34 B (Not with all bras though..quite a few bras)..you'd think I wouldn't be able to fit in two sizes. I need pictures to find out what size I might be.

      You don't need breast implants. Trust me I have a D cup (naturally) and they're not that fun. Plus if you have kids the implants may make it impossible to breast feed for when you have kids (which you may not be thinking abut right now but this is a permanent thing you're talking about)

      You're body looks beautiful the way it is, don't go jinxing it by trying to get too much. It's not worth the cost and pain to go through when your body is just fine. And like a previous poster said, men like natural breasts. I live with three guys and 2 out of 3 find that more than a handful is just a waste. So you're perfect )

    I searched pictures online for inverted breasts and...my breasts don't look inverted but I have no breast buds...am I still waiting for puberty even though I started menstruating quite a few years ago?

    • ANSWER:
      Not completely sure what you mean...

      But my understanding of those words are that "buds" you call it when some girls in the beginning have small-circled stiff shoots that go straight out in the air. Of course some girls' breasts do not start that way.

      Inverted nipples is when the tip is withdrawn, is sunk in deeper than the surface of the breast itself. You wouldn't be in doubt if that was the case. But it is not dangerous. I knew one girl who was like that. They popped forth when she was cold or excited ;o) And I am sure they did if she got any babies later.

47. QUESTION:
    How do i upload pictures onto a USB stick?
    I have a Apple (mac) computer, and i plugged in my usb stick(2GB breast cancer stick) to upload pictures to it. And it wont show anywhere, like i can't find the drive's or anything. Does anyone know how to upload the pictures to the usb stick? Thanks!!

    • ANSWER:
      If you are sticking a USB memory stick into a Mac and you don't see it in the finder window, then the stick is either broken... or there is a chance the Mac doesn't recognize the formatting (or maybe the device isn't formatted).

48. QUESTION:
    How could I incorporate my mom's passing into my senior pictures?
    Hi, i have my senior pictures coming up really soon. my mom passed away when i was eight from breast cancer so i really want to incorporate her and/or breast cancer support into my pictures somehow. does anyone have any suggestions, i would really appreciate them

      i would a pin pink ribbon onto my blouse or buy a support breast cancer necklace or maybe wear one in your hair.

49. QUESTION:
    Why can breast tumors be imaged with a scanner but colon or pancreatic cancer cannot? What is the difference?
    Just wondering why it is possible to get detailed picture of breast tumor from a scanning machine but not other cancers such as colon

    • ANSWER:
      It has to do with the density of the tumor. Cancer is formed when normal cells from the surrounding tissues "go crazy" and start to reproduce at an abnormally fast rate. Breast tissue is very dense, so therefore cancer cells created from breast tissue will naturally be more dense, too. But, colon and pancreas tissue is comparatively thin and not so dense. Therefore, you need other kinds of diagnostic tools to be able to see diagnose those cancers.
