Surgery for breast implants has become common practice nowadays. The implants are no longer the fashion statement of the rich, instead, with the cut down prices the implants have become more common in the middle class as well. The surgery for breast implant recovery is also equally popular among the female fraternities.
Breast Implant Recovery Surgery- What is this?
The breast implants are of two types mainly, silicone implants and the saline implants. The silicone implants have been recently approved by the Food and Drug Association (FDA) in the year 2005. The outer coverings of the implants are made up of silicone, but inside the fillings can be of silicone or saline. Every implant has its own life. The safe breast implants may stay in shape for around 10 years. The implants tend to get damaged inside the body and start leaking. If this happens, the skin may suffer from numerous problems such as skin allergies or skin diseases or even cancer. The breast may also become saggy in the long run, hence breast implant recovery is carried out periodically. The surgery for recovery is done by the cosmetic surgeon. The breast implants are taken out during the surgery and fresh implants are inserted in the breast to make the skin new and fresh.
Breast Implant Recovery- The Procedure
The old implant is pulled out from the body through the cut of the skin done through the surgery. Once it is taken out a fresh pair of implant is then replaced and put inside the same place where the old implant was present. The cut is done in a place where no one can notice other than the patient herself. New implants can be inserted in the place of old implants during the recovery surgery.
How to contact the cosmetic surgeon for safe breast implant recovery surgery?
You can now contact the cosmetic surgeon for breast implant recovery through online channels. The website of the surgeon also displays the photographs of the previous cases handled by the doctor. Hence, you can see the result and then go for the appointment. The appointment is now available online. For more information on the matter you can search the matter in the internet.

QUESTION:
Breast Implant recovery time?
I'm looking for some answers from women who have had breast implants on how difficult their recovery really was. Can you really go back to work in a week or are you bed ridden for an entire week? How bad is the pain? Is it scary? Is anasthesia scary? Everything on the web makes it all sound so great so I'd appreciate some real life stories. Thanks!!!
-
ANSWER:
Recovery for me was really good and I was back at work in a week. As long as your job does not involve any heavy lifting work you should be fine. I was a little uncomfortable but not in great pain.Make sure you choose a reputable surgeon and make it clear to him/her what you are aiming to achieve. I had silicone implants 7 years ago and have never had a problem.

QUESTION:
Breast augmentation or implant recovery question?
My sister is a mom of a 3 yr. old and an 18 mth. old and wants to get breast implants done. Her husband will only be home for three days and then has to go back to work. I don't live close enough to her to help - plus I work full-time. He comes home in the winter for a few mths. I think she should wait until then - Does anyone have any experience with this and will she be able to care for her children three days after implants??? She will have to lift the baby out of his crib and into his crib. I think she should wait. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!! BTW the implants will be "under" the muscle. Thanks!-
ANSWER:
She has got to have help for at least three weeks since she won't be able to lift anything over 15 lbs for three weeks. She should wait till there is a more appropriate time for her to have the surgery, since she will be on light duty for a while.
She should wait till her husband is home.

QUESTION:
Breast Implants Recovery?
I am 23 and interested in getting breast implant soon. I was wondering...The recovery time is a few weeks..after that you can return to your normal routine. Well i work a cubicle job where all I do is type. I am sitting 9 hours a day besides getting up to use the restroom or breaks. Will i have to wait weeks to return to work or return to work during the healing process?please no rude answers, i am serious. Thanks a ton.
-
ANSWER:
Wow, I cannot believe some of the idiots. It depends whether you go over or under the muscle. You can imagine, if you cut the pectoral muscle, it is a much more painful surgery. Also the method. Going throught the belly button is more painful than going underneath the breast. They do NOT have to be replaced every 5-10 years. They are only replaced if there is a problem with them and they have a lifetime guarantee. But, you may opt to have them replaced in 10, 15 or 20 years for whatever reason. They do NOT break easily.
I went over the muscle and was up and around, doing laundry, etc after 2 days, went back to work on the 3rd day, but was in pain (but not horrible). It took about 11 days before I was not longer in pain. I was back to my normal, heavy workout program after 2 weeks. If you go over the muscle, expect to take longer to heal, probably 2-3 weeks longer. But you would definatly be able to go back to work at a desk job in about 4 days.

QUESTION:
Will You have Drains with Breast Implant Surgery?
I was wondering about the recovery time with breast implant surgery. I have saline tissue expanders in already and next week they will switch them out for the permanant saline implants. My Dr. said the surgery was simple but i don't know if i will have drains or not. Having the drains connected to you makes it uncomfortable and the recovery is longer because i cannot leave the house! Please let me know if you know!-
ANSWER:
Many times drain placement varies by the surgeon for most procedures. Your surgeon would be best able to answer that.

QUESTION:
What is typical recovery time for breast implants?
I haven't had my consultation yet but want to get an idea of how long I'll need to cancel activities. I am only going to B cup which is what I was before 3 kids and I am in good health and physical shape. I have an 11 month old I have to carry and want to be prepared.-
ANSWER:
if you are planning on having the implants placed in through the areola (nipple), transaxillary (underarms), or underneath the mammary fold expect to not carry your child or small pets (anything) over a pound for at least 3 weeks. If your incision will be in the belly button, you can start becoming a little more mobile in about a week and a half.P.S. I work as a surgical tech in Beverly Hills, honestly make the time, money, and painful recovery worth it, go for a size bigger than 375.

QUESTION:
What is the recovery time after you get Breast implants, when can you begin working out again?
Do you have to be in bed for a period of time, can i go to class the next week ?-
ANSWER:
I had mine done two years ago and have had no problems what so ever. The recovery time was minimal....I wore a supportive bra for around 2-3 weeks and avoided lifting anything for around 6. In fact, the morning after surgery I went for a 2 mile walk....it was a slow walk though. I was released to full exercise at week 6. If you are serious about this surgery, see a board certified plastic surgeon. All md's have different rules and routines and you will want to follow your dr's to a T. It was the best thing I ever did for myself and I have not regretted for one moment since. Good luck!

QUESTION:
What is the recovery time for breast implants?lift?Tummy Tuck...??
I am having a Breast Augmentation/lift, and a Tummy Tuck soon, and i wanted to know how long will it take to be out on the town, and party? How long will it take for the pain to be gone?-
ANSWER:
I do not know about a tummy tuck and the BA depends. I would imagine with both the recovery would be longer than with just a BA. In 2006, I had a BA. I had 425cc, transaxillary, under the muscle and saline. The first week was bad. The second was still painful. By the third week I felt ok, but I tired easily. After a month, I felt pretty good. Although, I still hurt at times. It depends on a lot of circumstances. I will say, this was not smart, at 2 weeks, my husband and I went out to a dance club. I looked smokin hot, but it was dangerous. I had to have body guards because people kept running into me, elbowing me, assaulting me while dancing.lol It may be different for you, just take time to heal. You will have plenty of time to go out. They never get old! lol Good Luck

QUESTION:
Women with breast implants: What is it like? How was recovery? When did you get used to them, if ever?
Oh, and what size were you before and what size are you now? Thanks!-
ANSWER:
Well, it's hard to explain what it's like other than it's like having breasts. The recovery was pretty straight forward. I was given a few prescriptions for pain and such, so I was pretty comfortable as far as pain. The only thing that bothered me was sleeping elevated on my back for a week or so. It doesn't take long at all to get used to them either.Honestly, it's a little hard to put into words the answers your looking for, but I can say that it's the best thing I've done for myself in a while. I feel so much more feminine, and confident. There is a great website (forum) that has tons of info that I found extremely helpful when I was researching implants. It's filled with facts, pictures, personal experiences, and they even have plastic surgeons who answer questions.

QUESTION:
Breast augmentation recovery?
If you have had breast implants, how did your recovery go? What should I expect? How soon can I enjoy them?
You don't understand. It is not a sexual thing. My breast are deformed, for lack of better words, after having children. I want them to look normal again. A penis is a sex organ; breast are for feeding their babies. Would a man sacrifice the his penis size/shape forever for his children? Now will someone please answer my question instead of judging. Thanks.
Thanks "mommy"!-
ANSWER:
My mom is on her 5th set. SHe had a botch job so she has been through multiple surgeries. She has had this pair for 4 years and they are beautiful. She had major reconstruction due to her botched up jobs and she was back to work in 2 weeks. She was up and around trying on new bras and things within 3-4 days. She is a busy hairdresser doing about 18 people a day so she uses her arms for blowdrying, and cutting, and washing etc... so you shoud be just fine. she never needed to use the pain meds either just tylenol and she was fine. Of course right after surgery they will be swollen and up quite high cause it takes a little while before they drop so dont panic. Make sure to massage them as well to keep them soft it helps alot. Its well worth it to make yourself feel more confident. Dont let anyone put you down about your decision to get them.Good Luck Girl

QUESTION:
I am having a breast lift and implants if you have had this what was your experience, pain and recovery time?
Do implants feel hard or strange? If you are a guy how do guys feel about implants?-
ANSWER:
I'm a guy who's wife has implants.she doesn't remember a THING about the day of the surgery after her pre-anaesthetic shot... not the trip home, the afternoon/evening.... kept her iced down and relaxing on the couch watching TV.
the day off (that night) and the day after she did the prescribed dilaudid #3s and after that preferred my hydrocodone 5 and 7.5mg's (still iced down, she just didn't like being fogged up as much.
took her in for her post surgery follow up and doc wrote her a proper script for hydrocdone 7.5s.
so she really didn't have any pain... she was to dopped up.
other than therapeutic massages there really is no playing with the new toys for about a month... don't want to pull the stiches.
she was "pulled tight"... lost virtually ALL her nipples until the skin streched back out and she settled in.
depends on what you mean by recovery time... is being recovered being able to sit in a chair, answer the phone and light computer clerical work? then recovery is a week.
if recovery is resuming your regular 5 mile morning run and 3 hard days in the gym, 3 hard days in tybo class, and a rest day then recovery is more like a month plus... you've got more bouncing around now.
I like hers...
remember the most common post surgical complaint is "there not big enough" remember to get an ACTUAL cup increase you need per the American Academy of Plastic Surgeon on average 189ml of fill... 2 cups is 378ml.
a LOT of plastic surgeons speed up their surgery days by ignoring this and calling an increase in 2 bra cup sizes a 2 cup increase.... it's usually not.
for example a 34B at 34band+2.5" is a middle B cup... an increase in size of 2 cups is to a 34 band+4.5inches... a middle D.
in increase from 34band+2.5 (middle B) to 34band+4.0 (minimal D) is a 1.5 cup size increase, but a 2 bra size increase.
unscrupulous docs will do this, speed up the number of surgeries he/she can do in a surgical session, and cram in the extra bucks knowing the patient will be unlikely to sue.

QUESTION:
Im considering breast implants and I would like to know the average cost?
I have been considering breast implants for a while, and I am wondering how much they generally cost. i also want to know how painful it is, and how long the recovery generally takes, and anything else anyone can tell me would be appreciated. Ive searched the internet, and havent really found straight answers.-
ANSWER:
Between 4,000-5,000 depending on the area. Ask friends for a referral. Find a dr. online or in your area. Most drs. will offer a free consultation if you book a surgury with them if not the consultation is around .00. Ask the dr. to see photos of implants they've already done. You will have an opportunity to use a bra and choose different sizes of implants so wear a shirt with no buttons to get a better view of how you will look. I was a 36B, I got 390cc and now I'm a 36 almost DD. A little too big for me but they look great. I was up the night of the surgery wrapping Christmas presents. I didn't use any of the pain med. given to me. The second day I felt sore and very tight. Just be sure to wear a sports bra if they tell you to. Some drs will tell you not to wear a bra. Mine said wear one and I did. I very seldom go with out a bra and mine are still very perky, however my sister didn't and here's got saggy after and year and she had hers redone. I had mine done on a Thursday and was back at work teaching children on Monday. My only complaint is that it's hard to find clothes that fit across them. When I find them they are too long, big or the shoulder sag off. You will have to buy separates in swim suits and clothes. Ask alot of questions its a big step and will make a difference in what you wear and what you CAN wear.

QUESTION:
Breast implant questions?
I'm 18 and I am a 34AA. I am very self conscious about this and don't like the way I look. After heavy consideration, I am planning on getting breast implants after I graduate college to ensure that my breasts have stopped growing.I'm looking to become a regular B cup, so as to not look fake. This is really just so I don't feel so flat chested, not so I can "wow" people with my huge breasts.
I just have a few questions...
Average cost?
Well known doctors who have great reputations?
Saline or silicone?
What are "tear drop" implants? Are they better than normal implants?
What is the best insertion method?
Were your scars bad?
How long was the recovery time?
Do you feel that it was worth it?Thanks
-
ANSWER:
Hi doll, your best bet is to set up a few consultations with plastic surgeons in your area. They will be more capable of answering your questions and determining the best implants and incisions to achieve the results you want.Setting up multiple consultations with different surgeons will allow you to get different prespectives and find a qualified surgeon that you are comfortable with.
It's hard to recommend a surgeons because I don't know where you are located.
I encourage you to visit http://www.locateadoc.com/gallery.cfm/Action/List/ProcedureID/85
it has before and after photos, as well as, surgeon information.-The average cost is about 00.
-I personally have saline implants, they have less health risks if reputured and are less costly. A lot of people worry about inplants feeling natural (silicone is suposed to feel more natural) but as long as salines are not over filled and you choose the proprt sized implants, there won't be a problem.
So obviously I recommend saline.
-I have oval shaped salines (not tear drop). I've have heard about tear drop inplants having placement problems (like turning or filping while inside the body and having to be adjusted). My surgeon told me oval is best, it give a natural breast shape and doesn't cause a side boob. A surgeon will be able to tell you what the best inplant shape for you is.
-I had under the nipple incision (at the bottom of the aerola). I like it because the scars are camoflauged. I haven't expierenced a loss of sensation.
-The scars aren't bad at all. Even a few weeks after the surgery I didn't notice them. Within a year I couldn't see them unless I looked for them. Using Vitamin e oil helps reduce scars and then once a few months have passed (about 3) put some scarzone w/ aloe scar cream on the scars.
-The first week I was pretty much confined to bed rest. But after that I started being able to do more. It takes about three weeks to get back to all normal activities.
-It was worth it! I went from a 32A to a 32C, and I love them.Your best bet for information is from surgeons or people who have had the procedure.
You can have breast examinations and mamograms (they just have to be performed with special care).
Do alot of research online, read some of the horror stories, arm yourself with information.
Most of the risks have a minimal chance of happening.

QUESTION:
Breast Reconstruction Surgery Recovery Time?
I am a breast cancer survivor, last year i had a double mastecomy, this last week i just started my breast reconstruction. Can anyone tell me how long recovery time is? I had expanders put in and i go Monday to have the bandages and drains removed -How long before he can start expanding and will i be able to lift and go out and not be in pain??
please tell me if you have had breast augmentation, or implants...anything like that-
ANSWER:
I had breast augmentation/implants put in on March 2nd this year. My breasts were two completely different sizes which is why I had it done. I got the saline ones that can be filled up and drained to get to the ideal size. I have had them filled once since then, I think it was like a month or so after the surgery (maybe longer). To this day they are a little sore, but thats really it. Recovery time varies person to person, but let me just say that a little over a week after my surgery I had to go back to school (living in a dorm w/ a lofted bed) and I was not ready to be back there, carrying books, getting up to my bed, walking around campus, etc. If you do something and it hurts, don't push yourself to do it because you can end up re-opening the incisions... yikes! I'm kind of rambling, but I hope it helps. Congratulations on being a survivor!!

QUESTION:
I'd like to get breast implants - how bad is the surgery and recovery?
I've always had large breasts to go with my generous hips, but now that I've had my children they've lost size and fullness. I'm only 28 and very unhappy with them, and would really like to get back to my pre-motherhood size and shape. I'd like to know how long the recovery is, etc. How long before I'm up out of bed, moving around normally, etc?
Serious answers only, or you will be reported!!-
ANSWER:
I was walking around the day after the surgery and was able to drive two or three days after. I was back at work within a week. There was definite pain - it felt like a big pressure on my chest for a few days, but it wasn't anything unbearable. Of course, I didn't have kids to look after when I got mine done (2 yrs ago) so maybe you should ask someone to help you out just for a few days if it turns out to be harder than you expected.
Make sure to check out your doctor if you've never been to him/her before. That can greatly affect recovery time.
But overall, it's not that bad! Good luck!

QUESTION:
Considering breast implants after breast feeding two kids?
I'm considering having surgery, I'm 27 and have two kids my hubby say's he loves me the way I am but After having my first child my breasts were not to bad and I could have lived with them but after my second child the breast feeding has taken it's toll I've went from a 34b to a 34aa. I only want to go back to a b cup and restore the firmness. has any one else had implants? what was your experiance? Just wondering about pain, recovery time ect.-
ANSWER:
I think you are right to go ahead with it. I know surgery carries risks, but you are a young woman (who I assume is pretty fit and healthy) and if it will make you feel better about yourself then go for it I say.My friend and I have a big fear that when we have had children our small boobs on our petite frames will end up as, what we call, "pancake boobs" and both of think we would definitely have a boob job to restore them back to how they used to be.
It's not like you want to go from a B to a G. You just want them to be back to how they used to be. Go for it!!

QUESTION:
How painful is breast augmentation?
I was considering getting saline breast implants under the muscle and would love to hear about recovery from anyone who's had this done. They're not cutting the muscle but separating the muscle fibers. Can I be back to work in 5 days without lifting? Thanks!-
ANSWER:
I had breast augmentation 5 years ago, it feels like a mack truck smashed into you the first day....but all that goes away the next day. It's amazing how fast your body heals after major surgery. If this is something you really want, you'll do it no matter what. The "after" results far outweigh the pain anyday! Choose the right doctor, one who will consult for free, show many before and after pics, and one who takes the time to really talk and LISTEN to you. My consult was 2 hours and no pressuring what-so-ever! Good luck.
PS. By the way, I was out of work 5 days, but shopping at the mall after 3 days!

QUESTION:
Who has had breast implants and are you happy with them?
I would like to get breast implants, as after breast feeding my daughter, i am not happy with the size or shape, i am happy with my decision, so please no one tell me it is wrong, etc. I don't want to hear opinions about them, however i would like to hear from women who have had them already, and how you feel about them.
Also, how long is the recovery period, when can you leave hospital? Many thanks in advance
x-
ANSWER:
My cousins have them (2 to be exact) and a few co-workers of mine. This is what they shared with me.1. The implants need to be replaced every 10 years.
2. You have to wear a special bra (provided by the surgeon) when you have the surgery to give it a shape and heal.
3. Recovery is a few weeks and requires a follow up visit to ensure there are no complications.
4. You are at risk of getting infection (just like any surgery).
5. You leave the hospital within hours after the surgery (but are in severe pain). My cousin's and co-workers seem to be happy with them. That's what matters I guess.

My dr. told me if i went a size bigger then that how it wouldve felt.2. It depends on what your looking for. Ive done research for over 5 years, and finally came to a conclusion that you should discuss it with your dr. For example, if you want a more realistic feel and look go with silicone. Although recent technology has come up with a new gel implant that is supposed to be great! I have saline mostly because my dr. recommended it because im still young and my areola was too small.
3. It is said that yes you do need to do them over. Over time your skin strethes and yur skin sags. The reason for redoing it is so that you can up keep that nice lift and roundness of your breasts. ITs totally up to you though.
4. I went from an A cup to a full B and i rate the pain... a 2 or 3. it wasnt painful at all! unless you go A-C then itll probably be an 8. My cuzn did that and she said it isnt as bad as giving birth. lol.
Hope this helps! Good Luck. P.S- i recommend Dr. Stoker in Marina Del Rey. Hes Awesome!

QUESTION:
How much pain can I expect after getting breast implants?
How long can I expect recovery time to be. Will I be able to pick up my 3 month old the day after surgery?-
ANSWER:
My 21 year old boss had this done a few months ago and she was not in immense pain- just uncomfortable. She took two weeks off work as she could not lift anything or do much. You most likely wont even be able to do your own hair for about a week after surgery as you cannot lift your arms high so I would not try to pick up your baby as you may hurt yourself.
After 4 weeks she felt completed healed, was not uncomfortable or in pain.Good luck

QUESTION:
Question for women with breast implants?
I'm considering getting them. What are your experiences? Was the recovery painful? How did you feel before and after the implants? Do you regret it?-
ANSWER:
I had large breasts in the first place, (DD's), over time they became flat and had lost their shape, though they were NOT saggy, just very flat. (i'm going to make this very short lol)
They were also very uncomfortable.I chose one size larger, under the muscle, saline.
It was a on hour procedure, went home same day, was in agony for a month. My breast swelled up, i was very unhappy with how they were settling. My doctor re-assured me it would be a years time until i saw the end results. My breasts are very natural looking, they hang natural, they feel natural, and are back to DD's, since when i had them done i was a little overweight, and have lost weight since.I don't regret it, i feel back to normal.
My sister in law had hers over the muscle, 2 sizes larger, prior to that she had 2 boys and had very saggy, drained breasts. We went out shopping same day lol. She is contemplating a lift, since her nipples are not where she would like them.
My sister in law and I, both have small incisions under the breast fold, they are less then an inch big and are well placed that you can't even see.
My doctor informed me that there is typically two reactions, you're either very much in agony, or you're up and running that same week. Though i'm sure everyone has their own way of dealing with certain situations.

QUESTION:
Breast Augmentation Recovery ?
!!!!Please, only those who had implants respond!!!!
On July 31st, I had a bilateral breast augmentation, with 375cc silicone implants placed in between my muscles like sandwiches. I'm now on my sixth day. I have so much pain in my upper back, i'm way more sore on my left boob even to the touch on certain areas. but i'm getting more and more flexible and experiencing less and less pain on my right boob. Those of you who have also had similiar procedure, can you tell me what you experienced day by day, when and how you healed and what kind of massages and excersizes did you do for your upper back?
ok, where are my other After BA ladies?-
ANSWER:
My recovery wasn't that bad. I had some back pain but the pain killers mainly took that away. What pain killers are you on?? I would suggest requesting something stronger from your doctor i.e. percoce because you shouldn't be in that much pain still. My personal experience: I ended my pain killers on day 3 so day 4 was the worst for me but by day 5 it just felt like a bad workout. I do remember having more pain in one breast than the other. I called my surgeon and she said she had to work on that side a little harder to get it even so that's probably your case as well.
For my back I just stretched as best I could and tried out different positions until I found one that was comfortable
Best of luck to you!

QUESTION:
question for women who have had breast implants?
how long is recovery time? i know you can return to work in a few days but how long does it hurt for? also, how safe is the surgery? do they stick a tube down your throat during surgery? whats the pain like, and how long does it last? what kind of pain medicine do they give you? in the end, was it worth it? thanks!-
ANSWER:
Breast implant or Augmentation of the breast consists of insertion of a silicone bag (prosthesis) under the breast (submammary) orunder the breast and chest muscle (subpectoral) and then fillingthe bag with saline (salt water). This prosthesis expands thebreast area to give a fuller breast (increased cup size), givea better contour, and give more cleavage. How is the incision made?
The incision (cut) may be placed at various locationssuch as: under the breast at the breast fold; periareolar whichis at the edge of the areola (brown area consisting of nippleand areola); within the areola; in the armpit (axillary); or inthe umbilical area.
The thinnest scar is usually in the areola. The umbilicalincision approach is used with an endoscope (tube with a lightfor visualization and placement of the breast implant).
Depending on the level of activity required, patients are generally able to return to work or school in approximately one week's time. Scars from a breast augmentation surgery will last six weeks or longer and usually begin to fade several months after surgery.
Complications
Local complications that can occur with breast implants include post-operative bleeding (hematoma), fluid collections (seroma), surgical site infection, breast pain, alterations in nipple sensation, interference with breast feeding, visible wrinkling, asymmetric appearance, wound dehiscence (with potential implant exposure), thinning of the breast tissue, and synmastia (disruption of the natural plane between breasts).
In the end, in my opinion , it is better to avoid implants unless you are in modeling or similar profession where it is required. -

QUESTION:
Looking for anyone WITH EXPIERIENCE on breast implants. How was it?
I am having it done next week, am wanting to kno wjust how painful and hard the recovery was, when did you go back to work and lift things(have a 7 month old). DO NOT answer unless you are going to be helpful!!-
ANSWER:
I am 9 days out of surgery with my augmentation. I'll be honest with you; those first 3-4 days were a blur becasue I was still on prescription meds with the remaining anesthesia in me. I relied heavily on my husband for support and my parents/sister to help out with my 3 year old. By day 7 I felt semi-human again and drove, did some light shopping. The past 2 days I started to feel back to normal. But I am on restrictions and cannot lift. It's been frustrating with a simple chore like unloading the dishwasher to place the glasses on the higher shelves. As far as pain goes, I am in more discomfort than actual pain. It's all the muscle, tissue, and nerve endings in the breast area that is all displaced and moving back. Tylenol and ice packs help tremendously.
This website is a message board forum in which I have felt 100% amazed by the women I have met: www.justbreastimplants.com to the far right is the forum section. These women have shared countless stories about pre & post op stories with recoveries, complications, and sharing.
All the very best to you for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!

QUESTION:
What is it like to wake up from anesthesia after having a breast augmentation?
I'm having this done on wednesday and I am terrified of the extreme pain that will come with adding 500cc implants into my B sized breasts. I hear its like you cant breathe. Any suggestions on how to get through recovery would also be appreciated. Also how bad are the "displacement exercises" the day after. I have a 24 post op apt. and the thought of him moving the implant 24 hours after he cut into me doesn't sound pleasant.-

QUESTION:
Women with breast implants: would you reccomend it?
The reason I ask is I am a 32A chest and i've always felt self-concious. Also, how long is recovery?-
ANSWER:
If you really want this surgery, I would suggest scheduling a consultation with your surgeon to see what size is best for you and to answer all of your questions. I did this (I am from Ohio and saw Dr. Robert Heck) and felt so much better about the procedure. They will go over everything with you. My surgeon's main goal was to gain back my self-confidence and self esteem. The surgery went perfect and I LOVE the outcome. Best of Luck.

QUESTION:
breast implants under the muscle?
i've heard that placing implants behinds your muscle very pain-full and takes long recovery. Does it change your breast shape?-
ANSWER:
Hello,It hurts a bit more, but if the implants aren't huge this is more "tightness" than pain. The use of the muscle does make things look more natural though. That is why many of us prefer this technique.

QUESTION:
Can someone who has been through breast augmentation please tell me all about your recovery period?
My g/f recently had breast augmentation-sub-muscular implant surgery on Thursday.....she had to have emergency surgery to remove a hematoma she developed after her first surgery on Friday.....She has been home since Friday......Can someone who has been through breast augmentation please tell me all about your pain following the surgery? When was it more severe and what all on your body hurt? When did you start actually feeling better? This is her 4th day after the second surgery and she still has quite a bit of pain. I just want to help put her mind at ease, as she is naturally worried and paranoid after the hematoma.
-
ANSWER:
I just had breast augmentation on the 6th and I am just now healing up. It took about a week to even start feeling up to doing anything. The first few days were horrible. I just slept non-stop just so I wouldn't have to feel the pain. Even now after 3 weeks I am still a little tender. It just takes time. Just make sure that she stays on top of her pain meds. I even had to have the doctor call me out more when I finished what he had given me. It will get better though I promise!

QUESTION:
Breast implants... what do you think?
I am thinking about getting breast implants. I am currently an A cup, if that. I want to get a small C, nothing too big because I am very active. Other than having a small chest, I am confident with my body.
I was hoping to get some input from people who have had their breasts done.
How was the operation and recovery? What do your breasts feel like now, do they feel weird?
How has your overall body image changed? Anything else you would like to mention would be appreciated! Thanks!(I am not asking for medical advice, but rather your own experience and how having your breasts augmented as affected you)

QUESTION:
breast implants?
I am getting breast implants next Friday and I am going from a 34B to a full C or small D. I need to hear about the recovery. Has asnyone had implants who can explain how bad the recovery is and how long it takes before I could go back to work if i only work retail.-
ANSWER:
I decided to get a boob job because not only was I teased a lot, it was hard to buy clothes that fit because I have sort of an hourglass figure. I could never buy a bikini without switching tops and some dresses were baggy on top while they fit perfectly around my hips. I had low self-esteem between the teasing and wardrobe problems and I felt better about my appearance and myself afterwards.
And I have never had any complaints from the men in my life.
Most couldn't tell I had the surgery and didn't care when I told them I did.I had mine done on a Monday and that Friday, I went bra shopping. I returned to work the following Monday and I was told not to do any heavy lifting for a while. I was awake during the procedure and was given valium in an IV so I basically didn't care what was being done to me. The surgeon injected something similar to novocain in the areas he had to cut.
The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I felt like I had a lot of bruised upper body muscles and the incisions didn't hurt at all. The most difficult thing for me was getting in and out of bed the first few days. Had I been able to lay down and get up without using my arms, it would not have been painful.
I was given a special bra to wear 24 hours a day for the first week. (When I went back to work, I wore one of my new bras)
Luckily, I didn't have to have drains put in to remove any bleeding that might have occurred inside the pockets (or whatever they're called) the surgeon made to slide the implants into. He was able to cauterize everything. Recovery may be different if you require drains so I can't tell you anything about them.
I had the option of choosing where I wanted the incisions to be made. The choices were around the nipple or underneath so the scar would be hidden. I chose underneath and the scars are hardly noticeable now. (I had this done in 1980)
I went from size 34AA to 36C. I left the size up the surgeon and told him I wanted my chest to be in proportion to my hips and waist. He didn't let me down.
One thing I remember, now that I'm talking about it, is the next day when I woke up, I looked down and saw a lot of cleavage.
My chest was really swollen and I was afraid I was going to be too big, like Dolly Parton. LOL The swelling went down quickly enough so that 4 days later, I was trying on new bras.So my experience was all good and I don't regret it. Everyone heals differently and one doctor might do a better job than another but I don't have anything negative to say.
My only advice is, be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions and go for all the required follow-up visits.
Good luck!

QUESTION:
For those who've had breast implants, saline, silicone?
What kind of breast implants did you get? style/fill?How many CC's did you get?
What is your cup size now?
Are you happy with your doctor/results/recovery?
-
ANSWER:
I got smooth round high profile Saline through my armpits and under the muscle. The profile depends on the size of your ribcage and body type..the Dr. will determine what would look best.
I have 470CCs but that amount will look bigger or smaller on different people.
I went from a 34A to a 34C. But depending on the bra they can be 34Ds..you can make them look bigger or smaller with clothes/bra type!
Very happy! My Dr. was one of the best in Texas. My recovery was 4 days and then I felt fine. I got them 5 months ago and you cant even see a scar anymore. They look really natural and feel really soft..I was surprised at the softness since I got saline. My clothes fit better and I feel better about my body!

QUESTION:
The AFTERMATH - Breast Implants?
so ive been looking at getting implants for about 2 years now .. i use to have D 's then they shrunk to B and they are pankakes .. well they are still full but i say a bit saggy .. im only 23 but they are sagging .. is it a breat lift or breast implants i would need to make my boobs look attractive again ... or maybe i just need to work out , but will that lift your breasts?????
also how long is recovery and what are the major risks ?-
ANSWER:
Implants will lift and fill out your breasts, a breast lift will leave them B cups but will pull them up.
The initial risks of having both surgeries are post operative pain, bruising and infection. Slightly longer with the implants will include discomfort due to the weight if you go too big, pulling the skin from your arms pits so that you have to shave your chest instead (not attractive!), finding you spent all that money and not like the end result, or leaking of the implants. Long term, the implants can interfere with breast feeding, probably not something you think about now, but it might be cause for upset in the future.
The surgery will leave you in pain and discomfort for 1-2 weeks at least, and you will be healed in about 6 weeks.
Try exercising first before you opt for any surgery. Lying flat on your back with a dumbell (or a couple of 1ltr water bottles, full of course!) in each hand and raising your arms from straight out on the floor to straight up directly above your chest will strengthen the chest wall and naturally lift your breasts.
If exercise does nothing, and you're still determined to have surgery, then speak to the best surgeon you can find and afford, do your research fully, and go in fully informed. Surgery takes a major toll on a body, just be sure that you're fully prepared to deal with all outcomes before they put you under.
