Women considering breast augmentation often want to know how the procedure will affect pregnancy and breastfeeding later in life or how pregnancy and breast feeding will affect their breasts with implants. It is safe to have breast augmentation before pregnancy, but there are some things you need to consider. The decision to have breast augmentation before or after bearing children is a very personal one.
Breast Implants Are Safe
Having breast implants does not create a danger for your baby. They do not interfere with your ability to become pregnant. Pregnancy and breastfeeding do not affect or damage your implants in any way.
Breastfeeding after Breast Augmentation
Most women can breastfeed after breast enlargement surgery, but there is a chance that you could have problems.
Some women develop a large amount of scar tissue inside of their breasts after breast augmentation. This can reduce the volume of milk produced and it can be painful when your breasts fill with milk. There are techniques that you can learn to work around this problem and nurse normally.
Most types of breast augmentation incisions are safe and carry little to no risk of causing problems with breastfeeding. However, about 20% of women who choose peri-areolar incision have problems with breastfeeding. The advantage of the peri-areolar incision is that it hides the scar in the outer edge of the darker skin around the nipple (areola). In the process, milk ducts can be severed or damaged. The nerves that trigger the milk let-down reflex can also be damaged.
Your Breasts after Pregnancy
Pregnancy and breast feeding will affect your breasts with or without breast implants. Neither will harm the implants.
During pregnancy your breasts will enlarge. After pregnancy they will shrink. They may go back to their normal size or they may be smaller than they were before. This growing and shrinking stretches the skin. Some women have very healthy and elastic skin that goes back to normal. Others experience minor or severe sagging, requiring breast lift surgery.
Choosing Breast Augmentation Now or Later
Deciding when to have breast augmentation is a very personal choice that no one else can make for you.
If you are planning to get pregnant in the very near future, most cosmetic surgeons will recommend postponing your procedure until after you have recovered from childbirth and finish breastfeeding. You do not want to put your body through the stress of pregnancy and breast surgery recovery at the same time. Your body will go through radical changes during pregnancy. After pregnancy, you and your cosmetic surgeon can work together to decide which procedures will help you achieve your goals and reclaim your body. You may even opt for a Mommy Makeover.
If you think you may want to have children later down the road, and you feel that breast augmentation will make you happy and improve your life, there is no reason to put it off.

QUESTION:
Breastfeeding and breast augmentation?
Hi I just wanted to know as a medical proffesional is breastfeeding possible after a breast augmentation? Some friends and I are having an arguement about this and I would appreciate alot of inputs and references too...Thanks
-
ANSWER:
It's likely, but it depends on the kind of surgery you had. Incisions made under the fold of the breast or through the armpit shouldn't cause any trouble. The most popular method, making a "smile" incision around the areola, puts you at greater risk for problems. If the nerves around the areola were not cut or damaged during surgery, you may be able to nurse fully or partially. Nerves are vital to breastfeeding because they trigger the brain to release prolactin and oxytocin, two hormones that affect milk production. Your chances of breastfeeding also improve if your milk duct system is intact.
There's no evidence that silicone from silicone implants leaks into breast milk, but even if it did, it probably wouldn't harm your baby. Silicone is very similar to a substance used to treat babies' stomach gas.

QUESTION:
Breast Augmentation and breastfeeding?? PLS HELP?
Im 23 and im planning a breast augmentation. I
m 1.60cm tall (about 5.5 ft) and 45kg and my breast is 34A. it is very small and im getting married in 5 months, my wedding dress is a haute Couture and it looks empty in the upper part because i don't have any breast so i decided to have implants.
I want to know if i could breastfeed when i have a baby after a few years? The doctors tell you that its ok but i really want to know from people that had this surgery because doctors always say that to convince you doing the surgery.-
ANSWER:
According to my books (and I've read all the books about breastfeeding), you need to tell your surgical team that you want to breastfeed and that milk ducts should be kept intact. Request the type of incision (not the one around the nipple, the one that's oriented the other way) that will preserve milk ducts.Wouldn't it be easier to just find a dress that fits and flatters you? This is clearly not the right one for you. If it's haute couture, then it needs to be fitted some more. Or buy some chicken cutlets? If you plan on having babies soon, pregnancy will wreck your breasts whether you breastfeed or not.

QUESTION:
Breast augmentation surgery after breastfeeding?
My breast surgery is scheduled next week. I breastfed my baby for 2.5 years and quit just 2 month ago. My Doc told me that its recomended to wait for 6 mos to do the surgery , cus there is possibility i have milk left over & there is a risk of infection He checked me and said that i am ok to do the surgery, I already did all the tests and preparation. Yesterday i checked my brests better and after pressing & squeezing them VERY HARD there was a few drops in both breasts, I called doc's office, they said as long as its not "squirting" I should be fine. Also they'll put me on antibiotics starting the day before surgery, that should help to avoid infection. My Q is Am I @ the big risk for infection or complication? I will have a lift & fulfill my volume, I got soft hangin' skin left after the long brestfeeding, I mean u can roll the brests up - i need to fix them for sure & get proportional, I am 25y.o, 5'5 and 110 Lb in good shape, barbells & gym r not helpin from that extra sagging skin-
ANSWER:
Breast augmentation is serious surgery with many risks. If you stopped 2 months ago, you're body is still in the middle of the many adjustments associated with breastfeeding. My wife's breast shrank a whole cup size after breastfeeding and we have talked about the possibility of breast augmentation after we're completely done having children. But no doubt we/she would wait at least a year. I think it is way too soon for you and the fact the doctor is saying "should be alright" is not very reassuring.

QUESTION:
Did you get breast implants after breastfeeding to correct unevenness?
I am seriously considering breast augmentation surgery to correct the unevenness in my breast after breastfeeding. My two children would only nurse on one side, and now that breast is markedly lower and less "full". I'm wondering in anyone had a similar situation and got breast implants. If so, how was the result?
I'm not concerned with how I look in clothes- It's not noticeable at all when I have a bra and shirt on. What bothers me is being naked in front for my husband. I don't feel comfortable at all (even though he is totally supportive and thinks I look great!) and it is affecting our sex life.
I've already been to the surgeon twice- I don't need a lift, just augmentation, and he says breastfeeding would be fine if I choose to have another baby in the future.-
ANSWER:
Sweetheart there's nothing A good bra cant fix! Experiment and see, you're too young and breast Implants require ALOT OF ATTENTION AND PAIN!
I want to have a breast reduction. If I tell you how big my water melon are you will fall out your chair...

QUESTION:
Is breastfeeding possible from only one breast?
I had breast augmentation surgery a number of years ago, and had some major complications. I lost circulation to one of my niplles and basically it had to be reconstructed with plastic surgery. Therefore, if I'm able to nurse at all, it will only be possible from one side. My Doctor has not had any experience with my circumstances, and I'm curious to know if anyone has nursed from only one breast. And does the milk production "shut off" from the unused breast? I appreciate your help!-
ANSWER:
I am currently pregnant and also just have one functioning nipple. I have also been looking for an answer to your question. I found an article by Patricia G. Blomme, who tells that she has successfully breastfed several children from just one breast. So I guess that's very encouraging and it makes me think that I'll give it a try when the time comes. I wish you the best of luck with the nursing.

Breastfeeding after breast implants?
We just found out we are pregnant. YAY! However, it's very early and we haven't had the best luck so we are hoping all works out.I had breast augmentation through the nipple in July 2008. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar and is still able to breastfeed. I breastfed my first two kids and would like to do it this time, but am worried I will be unable.
Thank you for any experienced advice!

ANSWER:
As long as the implant is under your muscle you can still breatfeed.
I got mine done in march 2010, got pregnant it early august, and am due in late april, I asked the plastic surgeon and he said I would be able to, and my dr said the same. If your implands are above the muscle I'm not sure, try googleing it, and tomorrow call and ask your dr.

ANSWER:
Sounds like you're good to go.Double check with your doctor to make sure that everything looks ok and that your implants appear to be intact and that it is in fact colostrum that's leaking...but if it was implanted under the muscle and the mammary glands and ducts weren't disturbed...you should be fine.

QUESTION:
Should I get a breast lift or breast augmentation w/ a breast lift?
Please only answer if you have experience with any one of the operations or if your a doctor.Okay so I'm a young mom of two. I am not thinking about having any other children. I breastfed for a little bit with both kids and my breasts were huge from engorgement. When I stopped breastfeeding my breasts shrank and now sag. Being that it was such a dramatic transformation of my breasts they have stretch marks on them too. When I lift them up with my hands they are a really good size and do not show the stretch marks. What should I do? I just want my breasts to look good again. Thank you for listening.

QUESTION:
A Natural Breast Lift After Pregnancy?
Does someone know how to get a natural breast lift after pregnancy and breastfeeding? My breasts have really been sagging after breastfeeding 2 children and now my breasts just aren't the same.. I can't do breasts augmentation because I'm sooo scared of surgery and don't have the money for it.Anyone know a natural breast lift suitable for use after pregnancy?
-
ANSWER:
Firstly you need to realize that true beauty lies inside of you.. firm breasts don't mean everything, if you let your spirit shine no one will care that your boobs lost a bit of firmness. That aside here are a few options:
-Pushup bras are great for lifting the breasts, they might not be the most comfortable to wear all day long but they work really well to enhance the appearance of the breasts
-Pushup exercises or any other chest exercises are great for firming and toning the breasts.. it takes a while to notice a difference but it definitely works.
-Natural, herbal breast lifting supplements are great as well. I had a girlfriend gain 2 cup sizes in a matter of 4 months time using this one that worked really well!

QUESTION:
How safe is saline breast augmentation?
I have been so insecure and obsessed with my small saggy boobs which changed from me breastfeeding. What is the safest solution? I heard saline is good. Is this true?-
ANSWER:
Well, the fact of the matter is, is that more and more women are surgically enhancing their breasts. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as your doing this for yourself. Saline implants are very safe, they've been around since 1964 and thousands of women, every year, have them implanted.Depending on how old you are, what you need to keep in mind is that while there are a lot of women who've had their implants for 20 to 30 years with no problems or deflation, it's better to go into it thinking that at some point you will. Or if you don't have kids now but you know you'll have them later, you'll have no problem breastfeeding, but if your breasts get too big and don't shrink back, your implants are going to look a little funny and you'll need to get a lift.
Basically, what I''m saying is, if you have this done, you can expect to have another procedure at some point in the future.
The implant itself is a silicone shell that is filled with a saline solution, it can be filled to the exact size of the implant or it can be overfilled, usually up to 40 cc's or so.
The best placement of the implant is subpectorally, underneath the chest muscle. It can take longer for the implant to drop into place but you'll get a much nicer result and the implants are very soft.
If you do decide to have this done, the best thing you can do for yourself is to make sure you go to a board certified plastic surgeon, you can find a list at www.plasticsurgery.org
Good luck!

QUESTION:
did you have a breast augmentation after children?
As most of you already know after having children and breastfeeding the ta-tas are just not the same. I was considering breast implants or a lift. have any of you had experience with this? and how do you like it now?
Thanks!
-
ANSWER:
I had a breast lift with implants done in December last year. After the kiddies my boobs not only went south but were also left looking worse for wear. After lots of looking around for the best surgeon/hospital and price (of course) I chose Thailand as the best place for me to have this done.
I had a great experience, and the results.... AMAZING!!
The neatness of the surgeons work is incredible. I had the lollipop incision (around areola) and the scaring is fading fast.
I wouldn't say it was a painful procedure, more like discomfort for a few days.
Anyway I am thrilled with the results (so is my hubby!) and my confidence has soared. If you have any other questions please contact me.
Good luck!

QUESTION:
breast augmentation before pregnancy?
HERE'S THE DEAL: i have already decided that i am getting implants. i cant find clothes that fit bc i am so small. i am 20 years old and still a AA. i am doing this bc i am unproportional and i hate that i am so small. i wear an xxs-xs. i am a grown woman and i cant find clothes that fit. so no one needs to tell me not to do it. ive already made up my mind...i am not planning on breastfeeding for personal reasons. my baby will be fine with formula, but i will consider getting a pump if it is necessary.
i am not planning on becoming pregnant for atleast 5 years. and i am going to get augmentation done in 2 years.
since i will not be breastfeeding, what will happen to my breasts? i will be a 32C cup before pregnancy and my breasts arent prone to fluctuation since they havent changed since i was 14.
has anyone had augmentation and chosen not to breastfeed or know someone who has? do they go back to normal shape of your implants or do they get bigger?
-
ANSWER:
You may not breastfeed but your breasts will still produce milk. Your breasts will change after pregnancy and you should probably wait until you are finished having children to get breast augmentation surgery. I like small breasts myself.

QUESTION:
Breast Augmentation Questions for those that have been there, done that...?
I know there's alot that goes into breast enhancements. People do it for alot of different reasons. Recently I've been considering getting an enhancement to restore what my breasts were before having two children and breastfeeding.Other than the obvious risks that go along with any surgery is there anything I should know that they might not tell me at the dr's office?
Is there any reduction in sensitivity to the breast area, nerve damage?
Please respond only if you have a mature comment to make. I'm not looking to be purswayed one way or the other. Just wanted honest feedback from those that know.

ANSWER:
As far as having breast implants go, you can easily search the internet and find out about he risks, most of them are out there and I wouldn't worry as the Dr as legally bound to make sure you know all the risks involved. From my experience, this type of procedure is alot more straighforward than it used to be when they used silicone (which they don't use anymore due to the cancer risk).
My only advice would be to go for tear drop style - these look more natural as they don't give you that fake looking line at the top of the breast.
You are being very mature by researching and looking into the possible risks and once you know then all I say go for it if it will make you happy. If you have a partner or husband, I would also see what they say. They may not be attracted to a fake style boob (these feel TOTALLY different to a normal breast i.e. quite hard). Even though this choice should be up to you, i.e. your decision, I think it is only fair to check with your partner as it could affect your sex life.
With regard to sensitivity, don't worry too much - as long as you go to a good Dr and don't have it done on the cheap you should be OK.
I would also make sure you only go for one or two sizes larger (especially if you are only having your breasts done to lift them if they have drooped due to children) - this means you won't have to have your nipple relocated (which can cause loss of sensitivity).
Good luck. I know quite a bit about this subject although have not had this surgery myself.
Thought about it - in order to get larger breasts but then decided against it.
Each to their own I say. If you are 100% go for it and enjoy your new look - as long as you are 100% aware of the risks (as you will be by the time you make your decision).

QUESTION:
Many questions about Breast Augmentation?
I am 23 and considering possible breast augmentation in the future. One breast is an A and the other a full B cup (very uneven!)...and I'm looking to get full C's. I don't have children yet but probably will in the future...so breastfeeding is something to consider. I'm just wondering what the best route is to take? I don't want to look like a pornstar. I just want to look normal and EVEN-breasted. Anyone who has had this done, please give advice! Thank you!*If you had it done, how much did it cost?
*Is it better to get implants above or below the muscle? Which way feels more natural?
*Through belly? Armpit? Breast fold?
*How long was recovery?
*Saline or Silicone?-
ANSWER:
I had a breast augmentation done in May, 2002 when I was almost 27 yrs old. I had been jokingly talking about getting one since I was a teenager, since I obviously wasn't getting any bigger in that area. I was in good health, and an average weight. I live in Dallas, TX so the cost will really depend on the area/part of country you live in. Mine cost approx 00 (not financed, I just paid it then, but you CAN finance at almost any plastic surgeon's offices). I had nothing else done, though some people do everything at once. My issue was that I felt non-proportionate with the rest of my body (though my breasts were pretty much the same size as each other). To "even" myself out, I really needed a larger B or C cup. I hated to wear bathing suits and always had to buy padded bras! Now I don't! The more natural looking implant would be placed below the muscle, though it will depend on your body type and if there are any issues that the surgeon brings up. I had mine under the muscle because I wanted it to look the best. I don't know if the feeling is more natural either way (after time, they will become a natural part of your body), but I've read that the best way was under the muscle. I also chose to have them inserted UINDER the BREASTFOLD. If you didn't know I had the surgery, you would NOT know. My scars are almost non-existent! They look great and natural and no issues. I don't know what the advantages are to inserting in the other areas, but I know that if I was ever wearing a bra or bikini in public, NO ONE would see under my breastfold.....maybe under my arms or belly button, but not where my bra/bikini top meets the scar! The recovery was just a few days. The only pain I had was the day after the surgery (I was high on meds after coming home from the hospital the day before)....I call it the water balloon pain. It felt like I had 2 water balloons that were trying to pop out of my chest.....but I had a friend over that had had implants put in 10 plus yrs earlier, and she knew the trick----ice packs! The pain was gone pretty quickly after that episode and I've been feeling great about my breast size ever since! I have heard some women get it done on Thurs. morning and are back at work on Monday. I did not have to take off work b/c it was my summer vacation of teaching. I know there are things you shouldn't do for a few weeks- like lifting boxes or weights or heavy furniture. It's sore for a while in that area for a few days, but the pain subsides quickly and life is basically back to normal almost 2 days afterword. I have saline, of course, because silicone was off the market when I had mine done, but I heard silicone was supposed to be better. I didn't have a choice and I'm fine with mine.....but silicone may "feel" more natural if you were or your partner were to feel it from the outside when it's under the breast tissue.Your dr. will conslt with you and tell you what is possible. Women who have had kids are more likely to have more breast tissue (swells with pregnancy), so they could potentially get bigger implants. With this type of surgery, there is a slight possibility that it could affect breast feeding. No one can tell you whether it will for sure or not, though. In my case it may have affected my ability to BF, though I DID have natural twins (2 identical 7lb. hungry baby boys to feed). However, this may not be the case, since my mom had problems BF all her children (my sister and I), and my sister had issues trying to BF her child as well (all of us had problems producing enough milk, and I was the only one who had had a breast aug. or any type of breast surgery).
No dr. wants to make you look like a porn star because this reflects on his/her work. Your dr. will likely only do something that looks natural for your body. Most doctors don't try to build you up for something that isn't attainable, only for what's realistic as a result. I am very happy with my 34C cup breasts and I no longer feel self conscious! I am now thinking of having liposuction on my hips/stomach (result of twin birth), though I haven't done much to look into it yet.
The first step would be to consult with a few drs. This is generally free, and they can tell you what the results might be, and the cost. They will also show you a "book" of their work. Go with someone you feel comfortable with and trust.

QUESTION:
Moms who've had breast augmentation saline or silicone?
I had the nicest, perkiest pair before my daughter lol but now they're all deflated after breastfeeding.I'm thinking about getting a breast enhancement and I'm just starting to do the research. In my area silicone is-95 and saline is-95 which is a 00. Price is no factor I just want a great job. Also the dr is renowned for his technique of hiding the incision in the armpit. This is called the endoscopic breast augmentation and can be utilized for either saline or silicone implants.
Im not looking for any judgement on how I should love my body blah blah blah just your honest advice. Especially if you've had this procedure done. Thank you in advance
-
ANSWER:
If you are Absolutely 100% sure you are done having children, then you can do silicone. I don't know that anyone has done enough research on the silicone and what would happen if it leaked into your breast area and/or got into the breast milk. Saline is just salt water and your body would absorb it just fine. I, personally have saline and they are under the muscle and went through the nipple. I did not know you could have it through the armpit or belly button when I got mine 4 years ago, or I would have. I have a small scar on the bottom of each nipple that I notice, but the hubs doesn't notice. It bothers me. Mine feel so real, they feel EXACTLY like they did before implants. Every now and then at a certain angle I can feel the bag and it's weird. I LOVE THEM and think they are the best thing I ever bought. Congrats and enjoy!!!!!

QUESTION:
Breast Augmentation? Please only people who have had it done.?
I have a few questions about breast augmentation. I really want people who have had it done. Please no rude comments or opionions. Ive asked questions on here before and really hate it when someone says something rude.Okay. How long do you have to wait to get surgery after you stop breastfeeding?
Also I'm 33 and have had 3 children. I'm a small B and the biggest my breast got due to breast feeding was a full C. will I need a lift too. or do you think they will fill out with a D implant?
and I would like to know. how the breast plants were put in? through the nipple, navel, arm pit or underneath? Does the price range change with any of these and the healing time with them. and If I was to have another child later I wouldn't breast feed. but I'm wondering if they will be ruined due to pregnancy? I don't gain weight in my breast area. they stay the same... thanks guys...
-
ANSWER:
First question....Usually When doing a lift ....filling out with a D helps a lot and prevents removing extra skin....
Second Question.....Through the nipple actually minimizes scarring so its the most popular procedure type....
Third question....Prices range differently depending on who does the procedure Doctor wise....
Healing time Can be about a week to two weeks where you can go back to doing normal things....but the swelling could take up to six months to subside....
You would not be able to breast feed because of where the implant is placed....
I also highly recommend checking the website for doctors who are accredited highly in plastic surgery....Definitely do your research...
No need for having to do it over again because of some other doctors mistake....
good luck

QUESTION:
Opinions on breast augmentation?
Do you think people who get this done are super fake? I am barely an A cup and since having kids and breastfeeding what I do have doesn't look very good. I want to get a breast augmentation just to go to a B nothing huge and outrageous! I don't want to look like a pornstar lol just want to have a little bigger than what I have. When I was breastfeeding I was bigger and I actually felt good about myself and sexy. Now I don't. Is it a big deal to want to change just a little bit? No one says I need to, my husband says he loves me just the way I am, but I want to do it for myself. What would you do in my situation? I know it can be expensive but money is not a problem. Please don't be rude!-
ANSWER:
Like you said, its all about making YOU happy! Will it make you happy? Then go for it! To all feminists out there, I'm not supporting all women go get breast augmentations. But to go from an A cup to a B or even a C cup, to make the woman feel more comfortable IN HER OWN BODY is perfectly fine! Whatever makes your life better for YOU, because at the end of the day, isn't that what life is about?Good luck!

QUESTION:
Having breast augmentation surgery.. concerns and questions!!?
I am having breast augmentation surgery in early 2009. I am a small-mid B cup now, and I am going to a small-mid C cup. I am 5'4" and around 115lbs.. does that sound like a good size cup to go to? I just wanted some other input on it.Also, I am concerned about breastfeeding in the future. I don't plan on children for another 2-3 years, but I wanted to know if anyone had any information about it. Personal experiences?? Thanks in advance for the help!
-
ANSWER:
I got my breast implants about 3 weeks ago. I was an A cup and went to a full B small C.... there nice!!! LOL... Your doctor should be able to tell you if its going to look good on you.... The doctor just gives you a guess/estimate of what cc size he's going to do but in the surgery table he might go bigger or small to get the size you desire. My doctor told me he was going to put a 275cc and fill it up to a 300cc but he ended up filling it up to a 320cc...im glad he did!!! I love my results.... I got it under the muscle in order for me to be able to breastfeed when i do have children.... let me know if you have any more questions...btw ... im 19 years old....5'3 and 105 pounds...thanks.

Question about breast augmentation?
Can they suck fat out of...say your thighs or stomache and place that fat in your boobs as opposed to an implant? I just know a lot of girls with fake boobs and they all look so stiff and fake. I don't want that! I love the way mine feel it's just after breastfeeding two kids they need some work. I'm a C and I was thinking of a lift and maybe a small implant.-
ANSWER:
My advice, wear a better bra! With two kids surely you've got better things to spend the money on....College anyone?

QUESTION:
Breast Augmentation Question?
I'm planning on getting breast implants. (Please do not comment on the negative factors of implants or the fact that men prefer natural ect) I am well aware of both the benefits and risks, and I am an adult and I have made up my mind. Ok, now that that's out of the way
I have a 3 month old son, and I'm planning on getting implants later this month. I'm going from a B to a C nothing too drastic, saline and behind the muscle. Probably going through the armpit for the incision. I am well aware that there will be pain involved, but I'm also wondering how this will work with my child... I'm not breastfeeding or anything of the sort, but I do have to carry him and burp him and such. I can only imagine (as I'm not an idiot and have pretty good common sense) that this is going to be hard. I'm wondering if anyone has been through similar situations and could give me any pointers or suggestions (other than don't do it). I have a wonderful husband and family who will be helping me in the days after with the baby also. Any real answers will be GREATLY appreciated. Also if anyone can describe the pain to me I'd like to hear from real people as opposed to testimonials online where you never know if they're real or not.
Thank you!-

QUESTION:
Where do you draw the line on body modifications?
What kind of body modifications are ethically acceptable, and which are not? If having surgery performed on a child born with a cleft palate is acceptable to improve his appearance, is it also acceptable to have a circumcision performed for purely aesthetic (not religious) reasons? Is it ok to have a nose job if your nose has been broken and it's impairing your ability to breathe? How about a nose job for a 16 year old who thinks her nose is too big? And what about liposuction? Is liposuction an intelligent option for the severely overweight? How about for someone who exercises and watches their diet but can't get rid of those love handles or thunder thighs? Is it going too far to have a breast lift after carrying and breastfeeding three children? Is it going too far to have a breast augmentation to look hotter? How about getting DDD's to make money as a stripper? Are botox injections advisable for an actress? How about for a soccer Mom?
Where would you draw the line, and why?

QUESTION:
Did your boobs sag after breastfeeding?
I was at least a C cup before I breastfed my daughter, now I'm a very flat B. The tops of my breasts are flat and have no shape. Is this how it usually is? I feel very self conscious now, I'm only 21. Would a breast augmentation be an option, and could I receive one even if I plan to have children later?-
ANSWER:
It's more pregnancy that make breasts sag. The rapid expansion that occurs is what causes the skin to stretch.

QUESTION:
Prescription meds for breastfeeding?
I am still having problems breastfeeding my daughter who is now 7 weeks old. Because after she's done feeding I separate her away from my breasts she becomes fussy and cries and after 3 hours of breastfeeding my breasts aren't full enough for her to eat again and it's very upsetting for me. Are the any prescription medication out there that will augment my milk supply? I have tried fenugreek and mother's milk but it only worked for a week. Doctors keep telling me that there aren't any medication for the augmentation of breastfeeding but I keep reading otherwise from other websites, please tell me what prescription medications I take so I can ask my family practitioner for a prescription?
I suffer from asthma and I have been taking fenugreek but my asthma has been getting worse.-
ANSWER:
There are prescription meds, but they are not exclusively for milk supply, that is just a nice side effect.I am a little curious about one thing, and it may just be your wording. Are you really waiting until your breasts "feel full" before you feed her? Because 3 hours is a very long time for a breastfed baby to go between feeds. I wonder if you let her nurse more often even if you don't feel full it will help stimulate your supply. Letting her suckle whenever she will latch on will help a lot.
If you still have issues, consult a lactation consultant. Doctors know very little about breastfeeding.

QUESTION:
Are Breast Implants Biblically Wrong?
I'm considering a breast augmentation. I'm about a small 'B' cup after having and breastfeedign both my kids. I just recently stopped breastfeeding my now 1 year old daughter and have one boob slightly bigger than the other. I want to fix the problem but also don't want to go to hell for it.-
ANSWER:
I don't think that plastic surgery is wrong in of itself, especially if it is to fix some deformity (like an non-symmetrical bust). However, I honestly think that you will be happier in the long run if you simply live with it, and thus learn to be happy with yourself no matter what you look like. We all get less attractive as we get older, and I think that God does this in part so that we will gradually quit worrying about our physical appearance so much.
If you are really worried about this, please read Romans chapter 14. It is a good passage to read if you are worried about whether or not it is OK to do something that is not expressly mentioned in the Bible.
One truth that I got from this passage is that if you think something is a sin, and you do it anyway, then you HAVE sinned, because you had bad motives for what you did (It does not matter if you actually committed a sin or not; if you THINK that you are sinning, then you are sinning -- because of bad intent. Make sense?).

QUESTION:
Fears on failing at breastfeeding again?
When we delivered our son, I was told by the actual certified Lactation Consultant that because of my previous breast reduction that I would have to supplement with formula anyways, and completely discouraged me on breastfeeding. In fact she never even showed me how to get my son to latch, or inform me on how to pump in order to keep a milk supply. Being mis-lead and uneducated on breastfeeding, and trusting the advice of an expert, I lost my milk supply because I was only pumping twice a day [I thought your milk just came in, and was not informed that it was based on a supply and demand method]. I was never able to breastfeed our son, and it was so disappointing and I lost that intimate bonding time with my son. Though I have nothing against bottle feeding, I whole heartedly believe it can have the same positive effects regarding bonding and closeness as breastfeeding. I just craved the joyment of breastfeeding.I am so worried, stressed, and scared that I will once again fail at breastfeeding our second baby [due today]. I have heard that pumping between feedings can help bring in more milk, however when would you pump between feedings to ensure there is enough milk replentished by the time babes needs to feed again? I need many many tips on the best way to get a milk supply, keep it, and be able to exclusively breastfeed from those who have been in a situation like mine [previous breast augmentation].
-
ANSWER:
Im not sure about the breast reduction, but what i was told to do was to breast feed or pump ever 2 to 3 hours. And it takes a couple days for your breast milk to come in. And when you try to get the little one to latch make sure that she getts all of the nipple and some of the areola in her mouth. Because, if she/he just gets the the nipple, you will be raw and bleeding. And relax with her/him when you are. And if you still have to supplement, then thats ok. But you may not have to. But i do know that when i started back to work, and could only breast feed twice a day, i to dried out. And feed your baby when they are hungry. I was told to wait 3 or 4 hours, but i didn't listen to it cuz i didn't like the thought of letting her sit there and cry. So, you do what you feel is best. But yes you do need to breast feed or pump every 3 to 4 hours and see what happens. Good luck.

QUESTION:
i have breastimplants and im breastfeeding..anyone done this? how was your milk production?
Hi i had breast augmentation done four years ago. At the time, i thought i was one having children. Im very very happy with my surgery and would do it all over again! However, i got pregnant unexpectedly and now i have a beautiful baby girl and she is two weeks old. Ive been breastfeeeding her from day one and im lucky that i have milk production. My boyfriend also gives her fomula once or twice daily (depending). She has gained a pound in 1.5 weeks. My concern is that perhaps im not making enough milk like i did with my first child. I felt the "letdown" very strongly back then but now i dont feel it I just feel tingling or the "let down" in my nipples. I had my surgery under the breast (luckily) so none of my nipples were damaged. However, im just concerened that maybe my milk may not be enough b/c her stools are now green and i read something about foremilk/hindmilk imbalances. I would really love to hear from women like me who chose to breastfeed after thier implants and what were your o utcomes? thanks-
ANSWER:
I don't have implants, but as the mother of two children, I'll tell you that letdown and nursing in general feels differently this time around. I think your body is more efficient at nursing and it doesn't feel so extreme.Put your mind at ease - pump and measure it!

QUESTION:
Breastfeeding Advice? I'd Like To Get It Right This Time!?
Ok I need some advice on how to be successful at nursing my next child. I tried my best with my first 3, but was only able to go 7 weeks the longest time, 3 weeks the shortest time. My milk just always seemed to slowly decrease over the weeks.
The pain was absolute agony. Not only in my nipples even after I learned how to get a good latch, but sharp shooting pains in my breasts as the baby nursed. I was told the pain is because I'm blonde and very fair skinned.
My babies always seemed hungry. I did pump a lot to save for later, so even when I quit nursing they still got breast milk for a few extra weeks. I also was told that the harsh diets I put myself on right away could also have cut my supply. Should I not pump and do less drastic diets?
To make things potentially a little more difficult, 2 1/2 months ago I had breast augmentation surgery. I got saline under the muscle, with trans-axillary incision route. So in theory milk duct tissue was not disturbed. I'm a little less sensitive so that could be a plus in the pain department.
I'm planning to get pregnant in February. What advice can anyone give to help me nurse this baby? I would love to go to maybe 4-6 months if possible. Even if you think I might have already been told something from having tried to nurse my first 3 kids, just tell me anything and everything you think I should know. How to eat, how much water or milk to drink, whether or not to pump what I think is extra milk and if so, how much and how often, is it Ok to use a nipple shield to decrease the pain or does that decrease supply?
You'd think after 3 kids I'd know how to do this by now, but I'm really at a loss.
Thanks in advance for any help you have to offer!-
ANSWER:
Okay - first, drop the diet and drink drink drink. Get as much fluid in you as possible.Second- I've never heard the blonde thing/fair skin thing before.
I would pump immediately after your baby feeds to help your body increase supply- but don't pump in between. Your body will make milk on schedule and if you pump in between, you'll make milk at the wrong times. You'll risk not having enough at feeding time at first, - and then when your supply builds, becoming engorged.
I don't know what to tell you about the pain - I know that I experienced pain at first, but it only lasted a couple of weeks.
You can also consult the lactation consultant at the hospital and check out http://www.llli.org/
good luck!

QUESTION:
I have a question about breastfeeding under these conditions....?
I am seriously considering a boob job because.... well, I have my reasons (ones that don't need to be put out there in public, thank you very much) and I was just wondering if it were possible to breast feed after you have this done? I have one son already, but I was talking about future babies? Has anyone out there had a breast augmentation and still went on to breastfeed? Oh, and I don't need anyone to tell me that I should love my body the way it is, or don't get it done because blah blah blah. I don't need opinions, just some facts, thanks.
-
ANSWER:
you should love your body the w.......haha JUST KIDDING
so you can breastfeed with implants, its all about how they put the implants in, wither using an incision through the nipple (less scaring, no breastfeeding) or under the breast (more scaring, but yes to breastfeeding) I beleive they can put implants in through the belly button now?? not too sure about that though. I don't have a boob job, but that's what i know and that's my 2 cents! Good luck!

QUESTION:
Has anyone had a "mini" tummy tuck?
I've had 3 children and while my tummy is basically flat and my abs are in awesome shape, I sitll have loose skin on the bottom that I just can't seem to fix! It's been horrible on my self esteem and bikinis and sexy underwear sit right under where the skin is sagging the worst. I hate it! I'm considering a mini tuck along with breast augmentation to correct the damage breastfeeding my 3 girls has done. One breast is a full cup size bigger than the other one now. I love my kids but it has been hell on my body! Anyone else been through this? Were you happy with the results? Is there anything you can tell me that might be helpful?-
ANSWER:
I am not a mother but i've heard about this and don't see anything wrong in getting a mini b.c ur skin's elasticity is gone that's why it just hangs there. i do know someone who's gone thru a big tummy tuck and she couldn't excersice for more than 6 months, but was happy with the results at the end. If ur children are toddlers then right after the surgery you might still be in pain for about couple of weeks, so u may not be able to take care of them as much.

QUESTION:
Nestle Good Start or Enfamil GentleEase? HELP?
OKay, so I am breastfeeding, but due to my previous breast augmentation, I am not able to produce enough milk to feed her, so I am having to supplement with formula...What is better?? Nestle Good Start or Enfamil?? The Dr put her on Enfamil w/Iron but she has been passing alot of gas and even fussing before she has a bowel movement...The WIC people suggested Enfamil Gentle Ease, saying it is close to Nestle Good Start..but I dont have the slightest idea what to do....anyone have babies who are both breastfed and on either formula??? My baby will be 3 weeks on Thursday...-
ANSWER:
You might need to try the two to see how well your baby takes to either. We started on Good Start, but found out that the store brand (in this case Sam's Club Members Mark) actually does best for our baby. He was gassier on the Good Start, much less gassy on the store brand. And store brands are about 3X cheaper, too, while being just as good nutritionally as the big name brands. If you want to stick to a big name brand though, I would recommend trying the Enfamil Gentlease. I really found that Good Start and their "comfort proteins" didn't make any difference with our baby. Gentlease is already partially broken down and is specifically for fussy/gassy babies. If she doesn't do well on Gentlease, try to find a formula that doesn't foam up when you mix the powder and water. Seriously, in my experience, more foam equals more gas.
Another thing you might want to consider is what kind of bottles you are using. Using a good anti-colic bottle (like Avent or Dr. Browns) will significantly help with gassiness.
Good luck! I hope you find a formula that works for you!

QUESTION:
Randomly polling people because I'm curious....How do you feel about plastic surgery?
I was talking to my friend who's been really interested in rhinoplasty, and now I'm just curious about how other people feel about plastic surgery. In my opinion, if you have high self-esteem and have one area that is unchangeable that you'd like to change, while still sort of maintaining your individual look, plastic surgery is completely fine. In fact, I wouldn't mind one day having a breast augmentation myself, but at 15, I'm still waiting for my breasts to grow (both of my grandparents developed in their early twenties and my mom was around 18, so I still have a while before I'm completely mature, and if I were to get my breasts augmented it'd be after breastfeeding all my children when I'm older.)-

QUESTION:
Boob job -- yes or no?
I'm wondering if I should get a breast augmentation. I'm 33, have a B cup. They're not tiny boobs, and my husband doesn't seem to mind them, but they are a little less exciting after having two children. My two sisters have had this done and love it. I wouldn't want enormous boobs, but maybe just a size bigger. One thing I wonder about is if I decide to have any more children, how will this affect the boobs and possible breastfeeding? Is it worth it?-
ANSWER:
No, stay the way you are. Sounds beautiful

QUESTION:
Fitting the right implants size?
Im 19, 5'5 and weight 125 lbs. Im currently an A34. I just stopped breastfeeding 2 months ago which went on for 10 months. At the begining and end of feeding I was up to a 34 full C cup. Im going in for breast augmentation on the 29th. My doctor has said he only wants to go to 450cc this time, and have me come back for a second surgery. Id like to go to 600cc. He said technically he could fit that, but he doesnt recommend it because it might increase risk of complications. A few other ppl have told me there are alot of doctors out there saying this to get you to pay for a second surgery. Is there any reason why 600cc could cause more complications? My chest has felt pretty deflated since breastfeeding, and I dont see why I cant fit 600cc, which should put me at a DD.
Its not a man convincing me to get implants. Theres something Ive liked about big breasts since I was even 4 years old.And I like the round, fake look. Its a matter of preference. If other ppl dont like the large fake look it doesnt bother me. I like it and thats the look Id like to obtain.

QUESTION:
Any bra advice for a small busted gal?
Kind of a TMI question, but whatever...I am very small busted. My breasts are not rounded, they are very pointy and lack breast tissue on all perspectives. They're not the kind of boobs you can hold, it's simply not possible. When I wear my bra size (36A), there's still room leftover. I can never keep the straps on my shoulders, and my bras almost always shift from side to side because there's nothing to hold the cups down. They're so small, they just poke right out of the cups when I move in certain ways. Also, in order to look like I have any sort of chest at all, I wear only bras with padding. But in my 3 year quest (I'm 3 years post-breastfeeding my child), I have YET to find a bra that works for people of my shape and size. Anyone have a similar situation and a good bra suggestion? I'm desperate to look normal. I hope to someday have a small augmentation after I'm done having kids, but in the meantime, I think a really good bra would do the trick!!! Thanks!
-
ANSWER:
Well, you could try to get bra's from the girl's section in target. That has been where i get mine for the longest time, there isn't that much space inside, but there is a definate rounder look when you are wearing your shirt. Most of my small busted friends get theirs from there. Also you could try walmart or anywhere else, and an added bonus, they are only like !!If these don't do the trick, maybe you could try getting a mega push up from the teen section. I know that i filled that up in a second, but i am too small chested and it made me happy to see some clevage.
Just a hint, try to buy the "full coverage" bras so it is less likely for you to fly out, and try wearing cami's or tank tops with other bras until you find the right bra. It will hold them in place if they are tight enough.
If none of these work, you can always try a padded sports bra.
thanks for your time and i hope one of these ideas work for you!
